CrimePastor Catches Wife In Hotel Room With Choir Master. by Easy023(op): 6:21pm On Mar 05, 2016
A middle aged pastor (name withheld) in one of the new generation churches in Asaba, Delta State has revealed how he caught his wife allegedly having sex with a choir master of his church.
The pastor who spoke to journalists on Thursday in Asaba said: “I have been inundated with reports about my wife having sex with her choir master, but I kept my ears to the ground until the fateful day I was called to a hotel around Ezeani Avenue, Asaba where I caught my wife pants down in the hotel room”.
With twelve years in their marriage, the pastor who narrated his ordeals in tears said: “I have been married to her in the last 12 years without a child, she has exposed me to the winds, people spread all kinds of rumours about me” saying that the choir master on interrogation admitted to the crime and begged for forgiveness.
It was gathered that the lady a native of Esan land in Edo State (name withheld) had been warned by the church members who smell a rat of her illicit relationship with the choir master, but their warnings fell on deaf ears as the love birds allegedly resumed their sexual intercourse with pride.
A member of the church, Rosemary Iwoha who claimed she stumbled on the choir master and the pastor’s wife in the church neck deep in kissing said: “I met them kissing one day and I reported to our Daddy about it” but the pastor speaking further, said the woman had since left his house, adding that necessary action would be taken against her soonest.

PoliticsYou Have Sacked Yourselves, Osun Govt Tells Striking Doctors. by Easy023(op): 7:02pm On Feb 19, 2016
Osun State government, on Friday said for abandoning their duty posts for over six months, striking doctors in the state public health sector have automatically sacked themselves.
It affirmed that it was invoking civil service rule that says whoever shuns his or her duty post for a certain period is deemed to have resigned.
Addressing a press conference yesterday, the chairman, Osun Stats Special Committee on Health, Dr. Simeon Afolayan contended that the doctors' demands were higher than what the state could afford financially.
According to him, doctors in the employment of the State Ministry of Health and Hospital Management Board, are less than 100, saying "government could not because of the number, and in the face of dwindling resources, accruable from the Federation Account, use all its resources to pay only them".
While explaining that the doctors were duly represented in the revenue sharing committee headed by veteran labour leader, Comrade Hassan Sunmonu, Afolayan averred that the committee had been determining the percentage going into the payment of salaries.
He stated, "40,000 workforce agreed that the state should take tough decision when it was clear the state's finances was down. This led to the payment of modulated salaries to workers.
"Government cannot pay full salary to doctors when others are receiving modulated salary. While we recognize that the doctors are rendering essential services, we must not also risk irking other workers, who are on modulated salaries.
"For 11 months, they have been on strike, yet they were being paid salaries. They got paid till September last year. In civil service, you cannot abandon your duty post for 6 months without your action being considered as resignation.
"This civil service rule has taken effect. Government cannot encourage lawlessness. Their (doctors) role is significant but their number is insignificant among workforce in the state. The fact that for 11 months, doctors did not work and yet the state's healthcare services are still functioning calls to question their relevance.

PoliticsBVN Exposes 23,306 ‘ghost Workers’ On Fed Govt Payroll by Easy023(op): 7:30am On Feb 05, 2016
No fewer than 23,306 names are to be deleted from the Federal Government’s payroll.
A team probing multiple salary payments recommended 23,306 civil servants and some banks for thorough investigations.
The government has started deleting the indicted civil servants from its payroll, The Nation learnt yesterday.
It was also learnt that some of those affected have tendered their resignation letters to pre-empt dismissal from service and prosecution.
According to a source, of 312,306 civil servants, whose bank accounts have so far been checked through the Bank Verification Number (BVN) platform, 23,306 have issues with their accounts.
The source claimed that with the adoption of the BVN for salary payment, the Federal Ministry of Finance has so far checked the details of about 312,000 civil servants— a development said to have led to the discovery of many irregularities in salary payment.
“Out of the accounts of about 312,000 civil servants processed so far, the ministry was said to have uncovered irregularities in the account of about 23,306 of them, who were suspected to have been collecting double salary.
“These indicted individuals are in two categories. In the first group, we found out that the names of some civil servants, whose salaries are being processed, are different from the names on the accounts where their salaries are paid. What this means is either those in this category are drawing salary from two sources (which could be different agencies), or they are ghost workers,” the source said.
The source added that the probe also showed that salaries were being paid to some inactive accounts, thus raising the suspicion that government was merely making payment to ghost workers.
But it was gathered yesterday that the Federal Government has placed some banks under watch for their roles in the salary scam.
The probe panel was said to have discovered that some of the inactive accounts were domiciled in a particular branch of a bank.
It was learnt that over 300 accounts of some civil servants were opened on the same day and all of them have become dormant.
The Special Adviser to the Minister of Finance on Media Matters, Mr. Festus Akanbi, said last night, “The public will be appropriately briefed when the full report is ready.”
The adoption of the BVN became inevitable due to the failure of the Integrated Payroll Personnel Information System (IPPIS) to effectively deal with the issue of ghost workers in the federal civil service.
A source in the ministry explained that the strategy of using BVN rather than requiring the physical presence of each worker “significantly simplified and accelerated the progress of the project and at a lower cost than previously incurred”.
HealthZika Virus: FG Puts 36 States On Alert. by Easy023(op): 8:49am On Feb 03, 2016
The Federal Government has put all the 36 states including the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, on a red alert following the declaration of Zika virus as an international public health emergency by the World Health Organisation, WHO.

The Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes that transmit the Zika virus, are found in Nigeria and Nasidi explained that the decision taken by the government is in line with global practice. www.vanguardngr.com/2016/02/zika-virus-fg-puts-36-states-on-alert/

PoliticsTax: Students, Artisans, Traders To Pay 100,150 Nd 200 Thousand In Benue by Easy023(op): 5:10pm On Feb 02, 2016
As Benue government intensifies effort at boosting its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), the state revenue office has come out with new formula with students seeking tax clearance have to cough out N100,500 instead of N1,000 been collected from students in the past.
The Nigerian Tribune stumbled on the new minimum tax dated January 28, 2016, also noted that professionals, clergy, traders, artisans and patent medicine sellers are to be heavily taxed.
According to the paper, which is in possession of the
Nigerian Tribune , clergy is expected N200, 000, artisans N120, 000, traders N150, 000, patent medicine sellers N150, 000, car/motorcycle dealers N200, 000 while professionals are to cough out N400,000.
The new tax formula, which was signed by the state executive chairman, Mrs Mimi Orubibi, has other payments to be made for tax clearance certificate in the case the affected persons failed to pay as at when due.
Meanwhile, the state governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, has frowned at the manner government funds are been siphoned with the use of manual receipts, warning that any government functionary, institution or parastatal found engaging in this nefarious act would be dealt with severely.
The Governor dropped the warning yesterday during a meeting with permanent secretaries, heads of government owned tertiary institutions, as well as heads of parastatals at the Government House, Makurdi, reminded them that they are key drivers of government policies and so, must ensure transparency.
He also explained that the introduction of the Point of Sale (POS), is meant to block leakages and directed that all illegally operated revenue opened without authorisation be closed and all money remit to the State account.

Christianity EtcSynagogue: Primate Ayodele Pleads For T.B. Joshua. by Easy023(op): 7:04am On Jan 11, 2016
Primate Babatunde Ayodele is seeking reprieve for Synagogue Church of All Nations’ Pastor TB Joshua and General Overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly, Rev. Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, a.k.a Reverend King. In a message sent to Sunday Vanguard, yesterday, the Founder and Head of Inri Evangelical and Spiritual Church pleaded that government should temper justice with mercy on the embattled Synagogue Church pastor.
TB Joshua’s Synagogue is standing trial alongside its contractors before a Lagos State High Court in respect of the Friday 12 September, 2014 collapse of a guest house located within the church premises around Ikotun-Egbe area of Lagos State, which was said to have killed about 116 people. Joshua’s case is however different from that of Ezeugo, who is currently challenging, at Supreme Court, his sentence to death by hanging by a Lagos State High Court since 2006 on a six-count charge of attempted murder and murder.
Ayodele lamented that other churches had continued to be silent over Joshua plights linking it to reason that the embattled SCOAN pastor was not member of Christian Association of Nigeria and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria. He described TB Joshua as a lonely voice in the wilderness.
“I am appealing to the government of Lagos State to temper justice with mercy over Pastor TB Joshua considering the fact that he has helped quite a great number of people spiritually and has empowered them largely. They should please forgive him and leave the rest to God if they think he was really guilty as charged,” Ayodele said. www.vanguardngr.com/2016/01/synagogue-primate-ayodele-pleads-for-t-b-joshua/

CrimeMy Pastor Asked Me To Lie That Armed Robbers Snatched My Boss’s Vehicle. by Easy023(op): 4:02am On Jan 10, 2016
A company driver, arrested by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Lagos Police Command in collaboration with Sango Area Command, Ogun State for stealing a company’s bus, has disclosed that his pastor directed him to tell a lie that he was robbed and the vehicle taken away from him by his assailants.

Crime Reports gathered that the suspect, Daniel Ogunlade (25), was sent on an errand within Lagos by the company’s Managing Director on Christmas eve in 2015, but diverted the bus, a Toyota Hiace 2014 model with the registration number EKY 463 DM, to Ifo, Ogun State.

One Oyetade Ade (30) was also arrested in connection with the case.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni had on Christmas eve directed the Commander, Rapid Response Squad, ACP Olatunji Disu to work towards the recovery of the Toyota bus which was tracked to Ifo, after which the Sango Area Command secured the vehicle along with the two suspects.

Reports reaching Crime Reports indicated that Ogunlade, who had been working with the company for about three years, was directed to pick up a company client at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja and drop him in Ajao Estate, but he took the bus to Ifo, Ogun State where the Rapid Response Squad tracked the vehicle.

In a disclosure after his arrest, the suspect said that a pastor of a white garment church which he attends tutored him to tell his boss that armed robbers snatched the bus, a sum of N150,000 and a Christmas hamper from him.

Ogunlade, who stated that he was not too sure that the pastor (name withheld) was not using a supernatural power on him, added: “when I was on Third Mainland Bridge around 11.30 a.m., en route Muritala Muhammed International Airport to pick a client, I received two calls. One was from my father who told me that my mum was sick and the other one was from my pastor who directed that I should proceed to his church in Adiyan, Ogun State.

“As if propelled by forces beyond me, I headed straight to the church with the company’s bus. This was contrary to my itinerary for the day, which was to wait at the airport for the client with a delayed flight, drop him in Ajao Estate and give some people N150, 000 and return the vehicle to Lekki.

“At the church, the pastor told me to drop the hamper for him, even when I told him that my boss said I should give it to someone at the airport.

“He then asked if I knew that the day, December 24, 2015, was Imoke Day. I answered in the affirmative, and he directed me again to join the church there. A church member, Oyetade, joined me in the bus and I was in Ifo to buy fuel when the bus stopped moving. I invited an electrician and he was about to start working on it when we the police came.

“I called the pastor at about 7.30 p.m. to inform him that the bus had stopped working and he replied that I should tell my boss that armed robbers snatched the bus from me. But I was I didn’t know what to say when my boss called me”.

Ogunlade expressed surprise that the pastor denied collecting the hamper from him, saying: “He abandoned me and a church member that I offered a ride at the petrol station. He didn’t even attempt to see us at the police station”

He stated that he wasn’t trying to run away with the bus and N150,000 his boss gave him, “I can’t explain exactly how I got to where the police arrested me. My boss was doing his best. He was paying me N60,000 monthly as salary. Though I am struggling with my finances, I never planned to steal the vehicle,” Ogunlade said.

Crime Reports learnt that the suspects, who were initially transferred from Sango Area Command, to the RRS headquarters in Ikeja, had been taken to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit, Ikeja, for further investigation.
