Hello Khadie, How you doing? I've been down with FLU.  I have gone through your post and I can see there's no update yet!

pls do i have to show evidence of accomodation becos the college does not have any hall of residence,the college advised that if i can show £7200 meant for maintance in my account it will be good enough,that i shld not bother myself paying any estate agent for accomodation letter.pls what is your opinion about this?is it true that the ECO dont look out for accomodation letter again?dont u think the ECO might ask where do u want to live in your first few days in the UK as they normarly do b4 the tier 4 PBS.pls dont say my ques is too much ooo.i am just trying to get advise becos the PBS system is new to me

The ECO don't care where you want to live,( if you like stay in Sheraton as long as you got the MONEY to stay there  ) Just show the requirement maintenance, like the school advise you to and you wont have any problem getting your VISA.

@ Ea$y: No, I am not including the one that led to the refusal. Remember he refuse cuz I didn't submit the original if you can recall. So, I am taking the original visa letter they sent b4 I saw the result of my application which still carry the resumption date with another document they sent that now extended my registration and all. And that is the doc, I am asking if I can include the scan copy they sent.

thanks so much. You know I envisaged this before,  I meant that the original visa letter that they sent after my initial application stated 21st Sep for the fellowship. They now sent me a scanned coloured letter to include with the original visa letter. It stated that my course date has being amended to Oct 1st due to difficulties in getting visa by me and my other fellows and that they have amended the date to coincide with 6 months so we can now apply for student visitor visa as we will proceed to Nairobi after six month for a job placement or internship. They said in the letter too that they are going to do my orientation when I get to London after securing a visa and that I can then continue with other fellows. So, I asked if the scanned support letter sent to take along with the original visa letter to reflect the change in date and visa type is okay to take with all the other original documents?

Just put the new visa support letter. I don't think you need to put the old one which led to the refusal, I'm Happy you're hitting them right back. They will have no choice now. Go for it!

Hello house, the school has sent me a letter, this time colour scanned to use to back up my application. It states that they have change my course date and that I can resume when I am done with the embassy. Am I good to go? Will they still  ask for the original of this support doc? Please advice as I go forth to reapply tomorrow.

khadie, sorry about your application, now that you know what the problem is dont waste time, when does your course start on the visa letter? you mentioned support document, which doc did you use before?

I sent 20k to nija on Saturday only for the receiver to get to the Bank today and the money was picked up by someone else right about the same time?? ! So pissed right now, I called the UK office and even the head office in the US and NOTHING positive came out of it.

They can only gave me the time that it was received not the location Anyone with similar experience??

@£a$y & funkybaby, I know, I know. It was quite a silly decision, but thank God it's over now. No, I've never overworked my NI barely been working up to it in fact.
My status now reads inscan at OC. I know this means it's now at the application centre. When does it change i.e. when will it be ready for collection? Should I go today? Many thanks guys.

It should be ready by tomorrow , check by 12noon and if its still the same then tomorrow . It has to show ready for collection before you head down there or else they send you back lol,  relax, God is in control!

iz2much, looking it at from what you've said so far, you are still not touching the main point of refusal, why can't you use another bank apart form that micro finance bank?

They're s, t and the BHC don't really rate them. [b](re they not suppose to be community bank providing small loans, ) [/b]IF you have the funds with them, [b]why not take it out and stuck it with a Big Bank? [/b]I did suggest this to you earlier. Inside my VFS envelope, i found a paper( I don't know about others) but they listed everything they assessed and even the Bank I used. So I assume you have to use a credible Bank.

You hit the nail on the head! I know it quite expensive but trust me itz worth more than just going through the nija system,There are too much unnecessary protocols in our system.   Hopefully, you will get it this new week! and next time don't try it  All the best aNuff( i like your screen name)

Does anyone know if extension apps take longer than fresh apps? I expected my application to have been out much quicker than this. I already missed my flight back and missed another flight today (for a conference I was meant to go for)  I'm really bummed.

I suppose it should be quicker but you know the period is so busy for them! Can i ask why you didn't do it here in the UK before you returned? just wondering

Trust me Khadie, don't try going there, you will end up just adding more to the situation. Just chill abit! My elder who used to work for HO said they delay sometimes can come from a Caseworker, If he/she falls sick or goes on leave for days all the application on his/her desk remains there till the caseworker returns. No one will touch it, Hopefully this will not be the case.

One thing I'm not happy about is the fact that school has resumed and you guyz re missing all the first week of orientation and registration.I guess they don't care that much. God is in control

Counted from the next day i submitted. The visa was issued 5days after i submited and it took 5days after to get it. 10in all!

The United Kingdom government is helping the police in Nigeria to tackle the use of fraudulent documents in visa applications.

Last week the British High Commissioner, Bob Dewar, handed over a document fraud detection machine and vehicle to the Nigeria Police Force's special fraud unit in Lagos. The equipment will improve the police's ability to track down the manufacturers and suppliers of fraudulent documents.

The provision of the equipment is part of the British Deputy High Commission's work with the unit to ensure that only legitimate travellers can travel to the United Kingdom.

I don't they will, lets be positive here, i have seen afew people get their visa after school has resumed, depends on you doing the right thing. If they give you a few weeks grace, that will be absolutely fine and you can go for it. You know persistence is important,So i will advice you go for it if you can afford it.

I'm sorry £a$y, been travelin around some, should have replied your post. My school resumes on Monday, September 21. I'll be leaving for Aberdeen tommorrow. Already bought my ticket before getting the visa.

Hi forum, I hope there is someone online that can answer my questions. have being tracking my visa for 13 working days now and there is no success and when I email their V. I office, no positive response. Here is why I am worried. I am going for a fellowship. I am on a full scholarship and my sch sent a letter that did not have all the details they required in point base application like sponsor license and address though I got all the detail in a separate email that I used in my assessment form. I tried sending them the other visa letter I got with the relevant details to no avail. I eventually couriered it.
Now the school has sent another letter that is original as some of my colleagues in other African coutries did not get their visa cuz they said they wanted original letters. I still have the letter with me while hoping they will return my passport soon. I am due to travel today but unfortunately here I am.

I am expecting God's miracle here and I am here to ask you guys what I need to do and if I dont here from them in 15 days should I go to their office in Walter Carrington? If I need to reapply will they not deny my application base on the fact that school has resumed? Pls help me out. God bless.

I really, really wanna thank u guys,  couldn't have made it thru easily without your helpful posts.

Now, keeping true with this forums tradition, here are a list of the documents that secured my visa:

1. Final acceptance/Visa letter
2. Degree certificate
3. Original receipt for payment of tuition (I paid the full fees)
4. A passport photograph
5. Personal bank statement (GBP 5825)
6. Fathers bank statement (GBP 15950)
7. A print out of Oanda exchange rate for 3rd September 2009.
