Politics / 6 Most Hated Nigerians Online by Easzy96(m): 6:51am On Aug 02, 2018
Statistics shows that we have 10 million Nigerians active online. Hence Some Nigerians are subjected to hate common, strolls on social media platform like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. Some of them are celebrities and public figures. Some of them we just love to hate them.

Ayodele Fayose
Governor of Ekiti State. This out-spoken man is widely hated for his series of hate campaigns through the social media against President Muhammadu Buhari.

Femi Fani Kayode
Former Minister of Aviation and head of Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign organisation prior to the 2015 presidential elections. The very out-spoken lawyer is widely hated for his multiple attacks against President Muhammadu Buhari, which many Nigerians deemed malicious and baseless and for some very controversial comments he made about the Igbo race.

Cossy Orjiakor
The busty Nollywood actress has being widely hated for always showing off her boobs. she has being on this for close to twenty years now, we strongly think it high time she stop. it no longer cool but rather annoying.

Bobrisky
Bobrisky is the male Barbie of Snapchat in the Nigerian sphere and also the most popular Nigerian on the social app. Born as Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, Bobrisky. I can say categorically or what to call him, gay, bisexual, transgender. but nigerians love to hate this young man, sorry woman.

Kemi Olunloyo
formerly known online as Snitchlady, is a journalist, activist. She is mainly hated because her bad mouth and her attitude of poking intonother people’s business.

President Muhammadu Buhari
Nigerians call him Baba ‘go slow’ due to his slow nature of doing things. The current President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He is hated by Nigerians living in the South East and South-South regions of the country. Now that he is also the Minister of Petroleum in Nigeria, the hate for him has reached an all time high due to the fuel scarcity rocking the nation.

Well, you most be wondering, what does the writer mean by “women in Africa”. Yeah, women in Africa are totally different from women in the rest of the world. And, the way they pick their significant other is really different from other women in other continents.
I will be sharing with you, the list of things that attracts women in Africa.

MONEY
The rate at which women are attracted to money in this part of the world is not comparable. “African women love money!!!” If you want to attract an African woman, all you have to do is to be rich.

GOOD LOOKS
Countries like South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana are mostly connected to thispoint. Women from these countries fancy good looking guys so much. They are suckers for handsome boys. Less I forget Rwanda is also part of those countries.

PHYSIQUE
Generally African Women loves men that are heavy built. A man with Abs, Packs, Chest etc. They love Macho man. Countries to be considered to fall in this category are Kenya, Namibia, Botswana, Nigeria, Senegal, Gambia and Eritrea.

CHARMS
They say the most romantic continent in
the world is Africa, (Arguable). Well, African women love guys that are charming, romantic and mysterious. And speaking of charms, it includes, Romance, humor, mystery, Care.

LEADERSHIP ABILITY
It’s no secret that women in general are often attracted to men who display the ability to lead others. This is like a very primitive factor, right? Yeah…. I remember this one time my girl dump me for our class governor back in college days, so awful!!!!.

LIFE ORIENTED
African Women are often
than normal attracted to men who are intentional about life. i.e men with goal and ambitions and he is working towards it.

FAME
If you are popular, forget it all women will flock to your side. African women are majorly attracted to famous people. Don’t you ever imagine why women fantasize about spending just a day with there favorite celebrity. It is because they are famous.

Romance / Six Kind Of Men, Women Should Avoid Dating by Easzy96(m): 7:11pm On Jul 31, 2018
There are different categories of men in our society. Men of different attribute and character. Today i will be sharing with you, different kind of men, every woman who is interested in a healthy relationship should avoid dating.

Mama’s boy:
Well, This kind of men are indecisive, incompetent and they can’t do anything on there own without involving there mother. There mommy controls them. if you are in a relationship with these set of men, moving forward will be very difficult.

The Boy-Man:
This is a type of guy who simply refuses to grow up. No matter how old he is, he act and behave like a boy.

The Control Freak
This guy is insecure and also has a self-esteem problem. He was probably cheated on in the past, so he tries to do everything he can to prevent you from doing the same. He shows some signs of jealousy from the start, but you misinterpret it.

The Alcoholic
The Alcoholic is a person who usually keeps it together and rarely acts irrationally. But, this is because he is always self-medicating. His issues emerge when he’s sober, so he would rather jus
t block that all out and numb anything that resembles feelings.

The Cheater/Manipulator
This type of guy is someone you hooked up with while he was in a relationship. He insisted they were “on a break,” or things were so bad with his girlfriend that they were definitely breaking up anyway, so it was fine. You knew it was wrong and you didn’t want to do it, but your heart just couldn’t help it.
Once this guy gets you hooked, you think you’re the right person for him, and he and his ex were wrong for each other. You were both attracted to each other by the universe and it was meant to be. Get real. He’s probably going to cheat on you, too. Sorry.

Mr Perfect
I like to call them the ” too good to be true guy” If a guy seems too good to be true, he probably is. When you first meet this guy, you think you want to spend the rest of your life with him. But, sometimes this nice guy actually turns out to be the biggest douchebag out of them all. In the beginning, this guy will try to assure you that he is different than every other guy and that he is everything you have waited for. But, this is not his true self—he is only behaving in the way he thinks will be appealing. As time goes by, he starts showing his true face and becomes a different person. The real problem with this guy is that he doesn’t have a real personality, and you never know who he really is because he always pretends to be someone else in order to please other people’s expectations.

Romance / Things To Lookout For In A Woman When Searching For A Wife by Easzy96(m): 8:56am On Jul 30, 2018
Ordinarily, If a man has reach the age of 27, 28, 29 and 30. He should be out of the dating market. He should be looking for a wife. Somebody he is ready to spend the rest of his life with.

Searching for the right soul mate could be tricky sometimes. So not for you to end up marrying a “Slay Queen” or a girlfriend material instead of a wife material. I have compiled list of things to look out for in a girl.

1. A great cook: Most of these girls nowadays are terrible cooks. She needs to know the right ingredient for each meal. After all they say a way to a man’s heart is through is stomach.

2. A religious woman: Am not talking about searching for a fanatic ooo. A basic church goer or a mosque goer should do the trick. This reason is because your children, so that she can train them in a holistic manner.

3. Don’t marry a party animal: This is a no brainer, If she drinks to the extent that she sleeps at the club couch overnight then she is not the one. She is suppose to be the kind of girl that socialize in a moderate manner like going to the movies, shopping with friends.

4. Submissiveness: Look for a girl that is submissive, a girl you can control (in a good way). Someone who is willing to do things your way. Not some crazy feminist, who believes she is always right and never submit to her man.

5. Ability to withstand rocky or steadfast situations: A wife material will always tolerate a broke boyfriend. Look for a girl that is not materially oriented.

6. Faithful: look for a girl that will be faithful to you either you are around or far away. Don’t marry someone with a history of cheating, or someone that as cheated on you before. Just saying!!!!

EntertainingYou:
Tech jobs are exploding – as well as the pay that goes with them. In fact, technology can really advance your carrier in ways we never thought possible. Now is the time to begin positioning yourself for a career in this field as the salaries seem to increase monthly. But what are the best emerging tech jobs; the ones set to pay the most in 2019? There is a wide variety, and we’ve listed the best below.

1. Big Data Auditor

Next generation audits are almost upon us, and they require people with the ability to utilize algorithms, insights and even A.I. learning to dig through data and separate the useful from the useless.

2. Emotional Intelligence Designer

If you’ve been watching Westworld you already have a grasp on this career; it requires the ability to create machine code that mimics human emotions. Once A.I. becomes better-versed in the ability to communicate like a human (both understanding and reacting), it will become even more all-encompassing.

3. Behavior Analytics

A specialist who knows what consumers will want is going to be worth their weight in gold. The ability to combine data analytics with both cognitive computing and machine learning are the gurus of tomorrow; people who can gain insights into the behavior of consumers to intelligently guess in what direction markets are going before they get there will be invaluable. And a great behavior analyst can apply themselves to other fields too, including cybersecurity.

As life and technology become more and more intertwined, smart sensors will become more and more ubiquitous. How else will we bridge the world between the physical and digital?

5. Space Habitat Developer

As Elon Musk and Richard Branson look to the moon, Mars, and even further to one day visit and colonize, the people who develop and create brand new living environments that can withstand the pressures of alien environments are going to be in high demand. Technology has already changed the way we travel; it’s going to change where we travel too.

6. AR/VR Designer

Steve Brown, a technology futurist and CEO is laying his bets on augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR). This job doesn’t just need object designers, a great UX designer, or someone who can develop AR interfaces would be just as lucrative and necessary.

7. 3D Printing

As 3D printing settles in – and it doesn’t appear to be going anywhere anytime soon – the world will change accordingly. From human organs to consumer products, 3D printing will rewrite the planet around us and as such, exciting and lucrative new opportunities will arise for those who work in this field.

The futurist Thomas Frey has a lot to say about what’s coming next. He thinks there are fourteen key skills that will be required as we step into tomorrow. They are:

Transitionists– Those who can aid in making transitions.
Expansionists– Being able to adapt alongside a growing environment.
Maximizers– Someone who can maximize not just processes, but also situations and opportunities.
Optimizers– The ability to change up variables and optimize a performance.
Inflectionists– The ability to discover the critical inflection points in a system.
Dismantlers– Someone who can scale things back when an industry meets its inevitable end.
Feedback Loopers– Someone who can create amazing feedback loops.
Backlashers– Those people who can handle and respond to the ever-present backlash that new tech brings.
Last Milers– The ability to create solutions to help tech that’s reaching its end goal as it winds down.
Contexualists– What’s the operational context for each new technology? The contextualist is behind figuring that out and ensuring everyone knows.
Ethicists– As technology grows, the ethics surrounding it will be pushed and pulled. A good ethicist will be worth their weight in gold.
Philosophers– The person who guides the company with the best philosophy will help take home the gold.
Theorists– All new products, services, and industries begins with a theory. Will it be yours?
Legacists– Those who are passionate about leaving a legacy.

But, of course, any and all of these jobs will need both an education and a great resume. There are a variety of schools around the world that focus on these different elements. And as for resumes, you’re going to want something eye-catching, exciting and contemporary – something in a new resume format.

Of course, there are jobs like mobile app developer, database administrator, software engineers and video game designer that aren’t as hot in terms of how new they are but still pay well within the tech industry. In fact, two of the fastest growing jobs that will require tech are in solar energy and wind energy.

Areas that are projected to see the biggest declines so you’ll want to avoid them include:

Farmers, Ranchers, and Other Agricultural Managers
Postal Service Mail Sorters, Processors, and Processing Machine Operators
Sewing Machine Operators
Postal Service Mail Carriers
Switchboard Operators, Including Answering Service
Postal Service Clerks
Cooks, Fast Food
Miscellaneous Agricultural Workers
Data Entry Keyers
Word Processors and Typists

There are a wide variety of emerging tech jobs that are going to pay incredibly well in the years to come. Wherever you decide to apply, make sure you’ve got a great resume that shows you off in the finest way possible and put your best foot forward!

Crime / Re: Lagos Immunises 4.6 Million Children Against Polio by Easzy96(m): 6:36am On Jul 05, 2018

akelicious:
Following the second round of the 2018 National Immunisation Plus Days (NIPDs) aimed at vaccinating children of between ages zero to 59 months against polio in Nigeria, the Lagos State government has vaccinated 4.9 million children across the state.

The campaign, which started Saturday June 30 to Tuesday July 3, 2018 at designated sites, covered 4859 houses, 752 fixed posts, and 1712 transit teams.

Speaking during the last lap of the exercise in Agege local government secretariat, the Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Primary Healthcare, Dr. Olufemi Onanuga noted that the four day programme experienced massive turn out, as the state ensured there were activities which attracted children and caregivers for the exercise. He said the exercise is aimed at boosting the herd of immunity against poliomyelitis, adding that the children received two drops of oral polio vaccines irrespective of their previous immunisation status.

“To ensure the success of this year’s polio vaccination campaign, many training sessions were conducted to strengthen the capacity of relevant health workers. We also did massive media campaigns involving airing of jingles while LGA social mobilizers moved within communities to sensitize and mobilize citizenry effectively,” he explained.

He added, “The responsibility to vaccinate all eligible children against measles is not that of the parents and care givers alone. The responsibility rests on everybody to ensure that children are fully immunised against childhood preventable diseases.

“The state government is particularly interested in the health of the children and as such is prepared to carry out any activity that will ensure that their right to health is attained. Polio is one of the major killer diseases of children under the age of five years which can be prevented by vaccination.”

Crime / How We Empowered SARS As Nigerians - Nairalander by Easzy96(m): 7:31am On Jul 01, 2018
Ok… I was moved by certain circumstances to write about this particular topic. Let us move to this present day. If we are to do a survey right now, out of every ten Nigerian youth, seven out of them has being victimized by the police (SARS). Personally I have, several times. There’s this one time that I was accused of hanging out with a beautiful girl. One of the officers was saying “how are you going to manage this kind fine girl if you no be yahoo boy”. Funny right?
I bet everybody has a SARS story to tell. But how did this shenanigan started, how did we give these set of people the power to override us anyhow they pleases. To treat us anyhow they like.
It all started when the government created an affiliate department from the Nigerian police force called SPECIAL ANTI-ROBBERY SQUAD, SARS.
As the name implies, “Anti-Robbery Squad” Meaning there job is to deal with cases related to Robbery and Kidnapping. Ehm.. At first they were very diligent in doing what they were asked to do. i.e fighting crimes and keeping the society safe. But all these came to an end, when the citizens of this country started using the federal SARS for there selfish reasons. When I say selfish reasons what do I mean?
Given the fact that SARS was given some level of power with a defined jurisdiction, some citizens saw this as an opportunity to use them as the prosecutors, the judge and the punisher. i.e whenever they have a fight or quarrel with somebody, instead of going to the police to report, they go to the SARS with their cash and they will get their biased justice that way.
Then we start seeing family members calling SARS to settle land dispute.
Somebody chop your eye for street, you call SARS,
Landlord calling SARS to evict stubborn tenant,
The one that I even saw that wowed me the most was when I saw a father that called SARS to teach his wayward son a lesson.
Seeing all these, this made the special anti-robbery squad fell out of their jurisdiction and they were never call to order by the authorities, and that was how this menace started, when they know they are the alpha and omega, and nobody can stop them. Not even the police force.
Hence, when I saw that ENDSARS campaign, I just laughed. We created a monster we cannot control. A wild dog on a loose. It will bite its owner, friends and families. Only the almighty and the presidency can save us from this mess we put ourselves in.

Business / Re: 10 Fastest Ways To Find New Customers For Your Business by Easzy96(m): 6:38am On Jun 29, 2018
binbass:
It is no news for your business to grow, you have to expand your customer base. It is not just enough to have and maintain old customers, what matters most to the development of your business is acquiring new customers, building and growing your customer base. While this has been easy for some brands to raise their customer base to a commendable level, some still find it difficult to find more customers for their businesses. Have you been looking for ways to attract more customers? Are you desperate to grow your customer base to the next level? Then this post is specially for you.

Marketing and advertising are usually huge problems for businesses, especially for small scale businesses. Hence, they have found it had to find new customers despite absolutely satisfying their old customers. I must say, in business, it isn’t always about how good you are. In fact, it isn’t just about how well you satisfy your customers. To grow your business, what matters the most is how well you attract new customers. I am not talking about attracting some 10 new customers today and you’d have to wait another ten months or one year to attract another four. No! Growth in business is measured by how you consistently grow your customer base.

In this post, I will share with you the easiest and fastest ways to find new customers for your business. These tips are not limited to a certain country or business. They are applicable globally and cuts across all types of businesses. Although some of the tips I will be sharing here may apply more to some certain businesses, I will advise you combine these tips to guarantee a rapid growth in your customer base.

Let us take a quick look at the 10 fastest ways to find new customers for your business.

● Identify Your Ideal Customer: What is the point of having a business when you don’t even know your ideal market? The first ideal step to take when you want to grow your customer base is to know your ideal customers in and out. You have to do an understudy, know where they stay, know where they hangout, know what they enjoy doing and know what catches their attention. With this information, you can know how to easily meet with potential clients and sell yourself and business to them.

● Talk! Sell Yourself by Yourself: Although this style is widely regarded as the oldest form of marketing, it is still among the most effective. In a world where people are becoming increasingly distrustful of commercial adverts, word of mouth still remains a core, if not the most important, form of attracting new customers. Wherever you find yourself, talk about your business. Tell people about what they have to gain being your customer. Also, when you offer nice services to existing clients, there is a natural propensity they tell others about your services and in turn, you can be sure of finding new customers.

● Develop Your Online Presence: The world has gone digital: You probably will be left behind if you feel you can do without the social media. Over 80% of your potential clients are o social media. The social media is the easiest way to reach people far and wide. With the proper use of the social media, you can reach lots of potential customers. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms are great stages to sell your business. Open social media accounts for your business today, use the platform to full effectiveness and watch how your customer base will grow in a jiffy.

● Develop a Website for your Business: Your business website is as important as your business name, even for small scale business. People are naturally doubtful; when you tell people about your business or they see your posts on social media, 60% of people will tend to go check your official website immediately after. Your website shows people how serious you are and tells them more about the business. To attract more customers, developing a website must be at the very top of your to-do list.

● Get Your Online Advertising Game on the Go: The internet has taken over. These days, people will rather watch YouTube than watch television. The truth remains that the world depends more on the internet for the information these days. Since people now spend a lot of their time on the internet, it is always a nice idea to follow them on the platform. The Google AdWords is the most popular advertising platform at the moment. There are different advertising rates and types available. Pick the one that suits you and get your game on the go.

● Flyers Never Go Wrong: Distributing flyers and business cards are always a great one. Anywhere you find yourself, if you don’t have the opportunity to talk about your business (or even if you did talk about your business), always remember to drop a business card that includes a telephone number, business address, social media handles and other basic information.

● Bonanzas: Offering discounts to existing customers on your products opens a huge platform for you to find new customers. Your existing customers will tell others about what you have to offer and how incredibly cheap they can get it. Do not make a mistake of not including a deadline to the discount. This may have an advert effect on your overall income, especially if you are just starting a business.

● Start Online Sale: This is totally different from having a website. If you are really serious about finding new customers, you should start selling your products online. Find online sale channels, register your products and get ready to make more sales.

● Google My Business: Ensure your business get listed on Google My Business in whatever directory your business fits into. This channel allows people to locate your stores online. People nearby have a higher tendency of locating your stores or business o this platform. Make sure you include your phone number when creating your profile and follow with your active business email address.

● Testimonials: One of the easiest ways to attract customers is the use of testimonials of existing customers. When you are sure you have provided a great service to a client, always request for a testimonial. Keep the testimonial simple and short so people won’t get bored when reading them. Showing people proof of how good you opens the door for new customers.

Final Words

In business, and I mean any kind of business, customer is king. In fact, the reason for setting up a business in the first place is because you have identified potential customers who need your products or services. Without this, your business will have little or no patronage and you may soon pack up. I hope this guide has truly provided you with the 10 Fastest Ways to Find New Customers for Your Business. With these keys, you’ll definitely stand tall in business and be a success.

Politics / Clearing Agents’ Strike Grounds Activities At Lagos Airport by Easzy96(m): 6:20am On Jun 26, 2018
Clearing agents at the Murtala Muhammed Airport ( MMA ) , Lagos , yesterday embarked on industrial action in protest against a new policy introduced by the Nigeria Customs Service ( NCS ) , Lagos Airport Command .
The protest , which began in the afternoon , grounded activities at the cargo section of the airport .
The agents , it was learnt, accused the command of raising mandatory charges on consignments by 300 per cent. The alleged directive credited to the Customs Area Comptroller, MMA Command , Jayne Shoboiki , is that all consignments must as from July 13 , 2018 be on Form M .
Immediately the protest began , Customs at the airport command locked the long room, while the leaderships of the clearing agents ordered their members to vacate the premises.
A member of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents ( ANLCA ) , Chris Nwabuzor , explained to reporters that most of the policies introduced by the Comptroller could not work at the airport as some of their consignments do not fall into the category directed by the command .
Nwabuzor said : “Since this new comptroller came on board , it has been from one crisis to the other . Initially , she claimed that Customs introduced new system which would enhance clearance of cargo at the airport , but with several challenges. In fact, most of the consignments we were supposed to clear entered demurrage in the process .
“Today again , the command sent out a circular that as from July 13 , 2018 , which is two weeks from now , all consignments, must be on Form M , which is not possible . Form M is for huge consignments, but some of our consignments do not fall into that category . For instance , if you want to clear one kilogramme of goods now , it must be on Form M .
“Even at the seaport, car importation and clearance do not fall under Form M . How come goods of just one kilogrammme and more will now fall under this category ,” he queried .
The Customs command PRO , Haruna Ephraim , confirmed the circular , but said it was not for immediate implementation .
Ephraim , however , said that the command had new machines which were installed recently , adding that the system recognised only those information.
“We have not given any deadline , we just issued them a circular today ( Monday ) informing them that from July 13 , they should make sure all their consignments coming into the country are on Form M .
“We ought to have commenced the policy immediately , but they complained that some of the consignments were already ordered and we gave them enough time to plan ahead ,” the PRO said .

Crime / Why I Killed Prostitute For Ritual, By Kogi Pastor (photos) by Easzy96(m): 6:13am On Jun 26, 2018
The embattled Pastor of Voice of Canaan Church , Cherubim and Seraphim , Azuri-Okene , in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State , Otaru Olusegun, who was arrested for allegedly killing one commercial sex worker for ritual, has said poverty led him into committing the crime .
He confessed to have killed Mercy Moses , a sex worker at Hollywood Hotel in Azuri community with the hope of raising N 2. 5 million from the ritual before he was arrested .
The pastor who was paraded with two of his accomplices, Yakubu Abdulmuminu and Samuel Olusegun at the state police command in Lokoja yesterday said he learnt the art and trade of money making ritual from his master at Abeokuta in Ogun State many years back.
Prophet Otaru, who pastors about 20 people before his arrest , said the church began many years ago , adding that the killing of the said prostitute for ritual marked the third time he was failing.
In earlier attempts , the 45 -year – old prophet said he got his raw materials from burial ground by exhuming dead bodies, and got the recommended parts, which did not yield positive outcomes .
He confirmed sending two of his pastors, Samuel Olusegun , Yakubu Abdulmuminu and one Stephen who is at large to lure any prostitute for the money ritual. Otaru said one of his boys strangulated Mercy to death, stressing that they cut her body into pieces to ease their operation .
Corroborating Otaru’s claim, one of the suspects , Yakubu Abdulmuminu , disclosed that they raped the deceased before she was killed , and two of them ( himself and Stephen ) still had sex with her after she was killed , for protection from any form of attacks.
According to the police command Public Relation Officer, ASP Williams Aya , the three suspected ritualists were apprehended after a tip – off, adding that the command has recovered the body of the deceased from the suspects in pieces: head , legs , body and hands .
He said three suspects connected with the crime have been arrested , adding that they had confessed to the crime . He said the police is on the trail of the fourth suspect who is on the run .
Meanwhile, the command said it has in its custody six criminals that invaded and killed a police Inspector , Abdullai Alfa at Ugwolawo police station in November last year , and made away with his AK 47 rifle and motorcycle from the station .
The PPRO said those arrested include Ubile Attah , Julius Alhassan , Akwu Audu , Shehu Alidu as well as Onuche James , Amidu Yakubu and Abdul Tijani , adding that the arrest of cultists at Anyigba end of the state led to the crackdown of the criminals as one of them confessed to the raid of the said police station .
According to one of the suspects . Ubile Attah , he gave out the group to the law enforcement agents because he was not given the money that was agreed upon before they embarked on the operation.

Crime / Plateau Killers Avenged Cattle Theft, Says Miyetti Allah by Easzy96(m): 6:00am On Jun 26, 2018
The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) explained yesterday why perpetrators of Sunday’s Plateau killings struck.

While the police put the death toll at 86, some residents claimed about 120 persons were killed in Barkin Ladi, Riyom and Jos South Local Government Areas of the state.

In a statement, the Chairman, North Central Zone of MACBAN, Danladi Ciroma, said: “These attacks are retaliatory. As much as I don’t support the killing of human beings, the truth must be told that those who carried out the attacks must be on revenge mission.

“There have been recent reports of cow rustling and destruction of farms between Berom farmers and Fulani herdsmen. The people carrying out these criminal activities are well known to the communities, but the communities are hiding them.

“Fulani herdsmen have lost about 300 cows in the last few weeks: 94 cows were rustled by armed Berom youths in Fan village. Another 36 cows were killed by Berom youths. In addition to that, 174 cattle were rustled and the criminals disappeared with them to Mangu. ”

MACBAN has in the past been accused of being behind deadly attacks on communities across the country.

Ciroma said: “Since these cows were not found, no one should expect peace in the areas; even soldiers that went after the criminals to recover the rustled cows were shot by the armed rustlers (who) eventually escaped with all the cows.

“The government of Governor Lalong has done a lot to restore peace, but the criminal elements hiding among their people are the ones frustrating these peace efforts.

“Though the security agencies have tried, they need to do more by being fair to all parties; they should not neglect any report presented by Fulani (about) Berom, because such a report can lead to attacks and deaths if not properly handled.”

He added: “Criminals thrive a lot in Berom communities, but when the Fulani, who are always victims of their crime, react with attacks, they blame the government.

“These communities have leaders. Why hide the criminals? They should fish out the criminals and hand them over to security agencies, to avoid death of innocent ones.

“As it is today, the Berom man cannot go to farm and the Fulani cannot breed his cows in Berom land. This can be stopped if the security agencies do more than what they are currently doing. The attacks will stop, as soon as the security agencies stop Berom youths from stealing Fulani cows.”

Meanwhile, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo visited Jos, the state capital, yesterday, and held a closed-door meeting with Governor Simon Lalong.

In a broadcast before the visit, Lalong had said the state would not be dragged into its gory past and that the government had taken decisive steps to reinforce security, especially in attack-prone communities, while tackling the underlying causes of the conflict.

It came as the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, ordered the deployment of a special force to the state.

“The intervention is to put an end to the crisis. The Deputy Inspector General of Police (Department of Operations) is being relocated on the directive of the IGP to Jos, Plateau State, to coordinate and supervise the operations on the ground,” said a statement by Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood.

The deployment include: two aerial surveillance helicopters, five Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), three Police Mobile Force Units, two Counter Terrorism Cells, Police Intelligence Unit, and conventional police personnel from other states.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) also deployed a Mi-35P combat helicopter and an Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance aircraft to the state, even as the Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin authorised the deployment of Special Forces to beef up the Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) security outfit in the state.

Reacting to the killings, earlier, President Muhammadu Buhari, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said it was “incredibly unfortunate” that politicians were “taking advantage of the situation.”

He advised: “Nigerians affected by the herdsmen/ farmer clashes must always allow the due process of the law to take its course rather than taking matters into their own hands.”

But the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) described the statement as “extremely callous, inhuman and brazenly divisive,” urging Buhari to tender an unreserved apology.

Its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, said it was shocking that, as the father of the nation, the president had no soothing or reassuring words for the victims but aggravated their pains with the unguarded comments.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), on its part, expressed shock at the killings and called for the intervention of the United Nations, the Commonwealth of Nations and the African Union.

CAN President, Rev. Dr. Samson Ayokunle, said: “We are at a loss how scores of people can be killed without any form of resistance by soldiers deployed to contain the security challenge. How could daredevil criminals assault communities without resistance by security agencies? Are these herdsmen in bed with soldiers, to unleash mayhem on these peaceful communities?”

Calling for a review of the nation’s security machinery, he asked: “What relevance is the intelligence gathering by the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies? If communities can be attacked and hundreds slaughtered without security organisations providing rescue efforts, then it becomes obvious that Nigeria’s security system has been compromised.
