MoonlightDrive: I am also in the process of finding a final and lasting solution to my gear problem. One gear master charged me 160k and I will pick up my car in 4 days, that he will need to drop my gear from the engine. I will rather buy a toks gear, than leave my car engine in the hand of a gear master that I have never had any history of dealing with. A new gear master I just met said N20k, to service filter and valve body, and he will only accept payment after the problem his resolved. May God guide us to good technicians. Even if na 2K e wan collect, i will stay with him till he finish. If e no finish i go resume with am second day. This guy said he will service the gear and valve body, i reach there next day only for him to change only oil because he discovered it was blocked filter causing the issue. I just dey vex dat day day i dash person money to change oil. |

cyif2003: I get ur anger but one tin u shud know about gears is dat different gears have different prices when it comes to fixing by a mechanic. Some are more problematic.. besides I can't just give any random gear person to fix my gear. Gear people and a.c are in d same WhatsApp group..... U can't buy parts for Dem.... Ok let's assume I was there he changedbd parts and gave me my own bad one. And e start to dey leak again no b still d same tin. He gave me a guarantee.... I have called him and I am taking it back to him. He has to find a solution. Bro, regardless you still need to be there like you dey follow up on Car maintenance. because ur absence means you over trust them and that could be one of the reasons you dont have a permanent fix yet. For example, when i was having gear issue last year, Car dey jack if i dey go for road. The gear guy charged me 25K to fix it, when i reach there go monitor am i discover say e no do any repair and my gear issue na mere blocked filter which e changed and bought new oil and problem solved. So next time i no fit make that mistake again of giving him 25K |

cyif2003: Been going to d mechanic week in week out .. I done tire . Noticed my gear oil was leaking sometime last year. Around august. Took it to a gear man. He said he need to drop d gear to confirm where d leakage is from. He charged 100k we negotiated 90k. He said if it was gear pump it will b 90k if it was just oil seal it will b 50k...
Later he said it was both. So he fixed it d leakage stop. I know dat most gear people hardly buy any parts kus dey always have gear parts on their shops.... so I was certain he didn't buy any parts from d market. He just change it with a bad gear in his shop. Only for it to start again after 2 month.... Took it back to him and he told me no b him fault. Say na d parts wey him buy. Dat is his bring it back in January.. I was furious and left... Took it to anoda gear person kus d leakage was much.. I have worked with both gear mechs before. I showed him and he said na 150k last to fix. And said it will not leak giving me guarantee. I tried to bargain he said 150k last. This was December 25 or so. He fixed it and said I needed to buy oil which I no say na lie. I sent money and everytin was ready... Been using d car till now. Only to check under to see its leaking again.. send him images. Will have to take d car back to him. This my car done chop going to 500k since december... From evaporator to compressor to 4 coils, normal servicing, shock etc. I done tire. I can't even meet up d money I borrowed sef with this useless fair ehalling apps dey being out. My tire is tired Mechanics just dey run you street. |

Kaymax2222: you see car maintenance is one of the things that take huge chunk of the money we make unless you are not ready to put your car in the right shape. I wonder how someone will say driving your car for long hours every day does not have any effect on your car. Something wey be say you maintenance bills will go up and one thing is repairing cannot return the car to it original state. Changed all the shocks and did all the leg works still the car is making some squeaky sound now Any small leg repair u must run uncalculated Alignment except u wan risk your tyres. Then you fit wan change ball joint make u get other things that needs to be fixed. I just pick the most important and fix in order of potential breaking down on the road causing embarassment Yesterday when i loose exhaust and Catalyst, na me carry am ontop bike go car wash go blow am come back. Panel beater dey tell me make i buy new catalyst i tell am say Pressure washing go fix the restricted flow and drop in efficiency. So far i have been driving without check engine light. |

Kaymax2222: it's direct toks bro not repaired or something I entered the warehouse with the AC guy ask him to pick the one that is ok and he pick and fix it. It has been working ever since. Asking how long it has lasted is not the point because this is toks not brand new you can buy your so expensive one and it will not last too but I was given a period of one month warranty. See eh when it comes to part buying just know where to go to. Na from here most people from far and wide too come to buy part Boss for Oyigbo or ladipo? |

dru23: Most of the oil branded full synthetic in Nigeria made by Nigeria company are not really full synthetic...... Nigeria has no strict regulations compared to their abroad counterparts ......
That been said, the 45k oil how long can it last before you do oil change. If it can't last up to 7k miles before oil change, that na nonsense u dey buy How would you know it wont last up to 7k miles? No be when you decide to do oil change you go change oil. Except that one can set trip A/B to track mileage after oil change/fueling. |

If catalyst is blocking exhaust gas flow , remove and free up exhaust port. Thanks baba, na why i wan remove am |

Nelochukwu: If u remove bear in mind u won't net 60k from 20k fuel. It will be 40 or 45k net. Unless u replace catalyst.
You sud confirm if it's broken or expired tho Okay baba, if i remove and MPG or Km/litre drops i will install back immediately or look for money for a new one. I no just like that check engine code showing up every 2hrs while driving. Na because i get personal scanner to deep scan and clear am dey help |

I want to remove my catalyst because it brings error codes after every 1hr + driving, i feel its broken and it might be affecting my MPG or stressing engine
I will remove it and test run the efficiency of the car and how much fuel it consumes. |

Richdee1: V6 4 plug A car engine especially Toyotas can only be: I4(4 plugs for Corolla, Yaris & other sedan), V6(Some camry, Venza and SUVs), V8(Tundra, Sequina etc). You should learn small about cars and also know the car you want to drive well. I added a screenshot of little things you need to know from chatgpt. Just find out if the Camry is 4 plugs, when you start you will learn & catch up as you keep driving
