Growing economy is beyond container economic reasons and government policy covers so many areas beyond profit making.

Israel developed her agricultural sector not because it has comparative advantage but because it is a security leverage to develop mechannised agriculture in a face of limited land and hostile neighbors.

Many of those items you listed above can well be developed and turned into profitable venture.

Malaysia doesn't have a better comparative advantage in Palm oil production until they develop that crop out seed they got in Nigeria.

Which kind uneducated narration is this one na? The level and quality of education in Nigeria keeps going down, listening to this lady is like walking on broken bottles! It is a painful ordeal! By the way, the color of the soil does suggest it needs more orginic manure to make it dark and rich in nutrients..
They can just get the dark soil from somewhere else or apply the manure directly and transplant new grasses to cover all the exposed ground.

Not that difficult to create nutrients-rich soil. They could do it on large scale probably with tractors or small/medium scale by gathering the red soil together with different organic materials like soft plants, animal wastes, etc, and allow them to decompose and become dark, then spread the soil back. This is part of the reason oyibo grasses tend to look lush green and well spread out. They feed their grasses well. I hope people can go into this business and recieve patronage from governments, estates, companies, etc

Finishing and landscaping are still a challenge for Soludo's works ministry but in time they should get it right! However, my pet peeve with the Soludo administration is the lack of a town planning philosophy that runs through the contracts and projects in our major cities ..........I noticed that the local contractors in Ekwuluobia seem to be slightly better in finishing and as a matter of fact, the designs of the projects seem to be better thought out....just saying..........Onitsha has had some road projects but the city is not really vibing for me like Awka! i dunno....

The size of all those major cities added together may be like tge size of urban Ibadan or may be just a little more and still below the metropoltam Lagos. I don't think having all the land for real estate is the best and won't encourage that for the Southwest except for two to three cities that may be necessary to relieve Lagos state.

More importantly for cities are their economic structure and sustainability. Having real estates without economic values does not amount to actual developments required of a growing economy.

I think Southeast should watch that type of cornubation that will reserve few places for agriculture and other activities.

However the Igbo has benefitted from Nigeria more, access to huge market, sales approach that rakes in millions with little taxes due to structure system of running largely informal outlets, allocations from federal government which finance infrastructures, contractors, big men access to contracts and investments outside of Southeast( oil and gas, constructions etc) saying all development are private is a joke and flat lie from hell. I think post war reconstructions and federal money play huge roles as part of such developments. Believe you me, other places in Nigeria are also developed; kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, Jos etc are developed by Nigerian standard. Stop thinking you are the king of the jungle if you haven't hunted an antelope, be humble.

You obviously have never lived in the southeast, The southeast has Oil and gas........! However, the federal government has not done much in terms of uplifting the southeast......this is the truth!
