PoliticsWhy We Couldn’t Delay Lagos-kano Flight For Emir Bayero, Eight Others – Air Peac by Ebubu5(op): 6:21pm On Feb 25, 2022
Nigeria’s biggest carrier, Air Peace, says it did not disrespect the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.
The airline said this while responding to a letter of complaint written by a cousin to the Emir, Prince Isa Bayero.
The Emir’s cousin had asked the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to take punitive actions against the airline over what he termed “disrespect” to the Emir and people of Kano.
Prince Bayero was said to have called the Air Peace Chairman, Mr. Allen Onyema to delay the airline’s morning flight to Kano because their flight from Banjul, the Gambia, was delayed which prevented them from arriving on time to the airport.

However, Chief Operating Officer, Air Peace Ltd, Toyin Olajide (Mrs) in a statement expressed shock over what she called the deliberate falsehood against the airline, insisting that the Airline holds the Emir in the highest regards.
According to the Air Peace, contrary to the insinuation that the Emir was disrespected, the Airline even protected the image of the Emir.

Olajide said, “Rather than disrespect the revered Emir of Kano, Air Peace did everything to protect the name and image of the Emir from ridicule by not succumbing to what Isa Bayero wanted us to do.

“If we had agreed to stop and delay an aircraft, already set to take-off, for another one hour only for the doors to be opened and the Emir to walk in, there would have been a very serious uproar in the media nationwide against both the airline and the Emir. This we pleaded with Isa Bayero to understand but he refused to accept.

“How could Isa Bayero want the Management of Air Peace to stop and delay a fully boarded plane with doors already shut and aircraft already moving while our respected Emir and eight others in his entourage, including Isa Bayero, were still at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos after arriving from Banjul?”

The COO explained that from the telephone log evidence on the phone of the Chairman/CEO, Allen Onyema, Mr. Isa Bayero, called at about 5.52am, at a time he was still sleeping.
She said from the same log, it could be seen that he called him again at 5.59am which obviously woke him up.
The COO added, “On seeing that it was Isa Bayero calling, he took the call. Isa told our Chairman that he and the Emir of Kano had just landed the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos from Banjul, Gambia and would be proceeding to Kano same morning.

“He told the Chairman to delay our first flight of the day, the 6:15 am Lagos-Kano flight for him and the Emir with another eight persons. It was not true that our Chairman refused flatly. He rather told Mr. Isa Bayero to give him a few minutes to call the airport to find out the status of the flight. I was the one he called. To show his desire to help, he called me immediately and intimated me with the request.
“I am the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Air Peace. I quickly called the local airport from where we carry on our day to day domestic flight operations and was told that the aircraft had since finished boarding and was almost taxiing out.”

PoliticsAbia Deputy Speaker, Majority Leader Escape Impeachment by Ebubu5(op): 5:29pm On Feb 23, 2022
The Abia House of Assembly on Tuesday adjourned indefinitely as the Deputy Speaker, Ifeanyi Uchendu and the Majority Leader, Solomon Akpulonu, narrowly escaped being impeached.

The Deputy Majority Leader, Paul Taribo (PDP–Ukwa East) moved the motion for the removal of the two principal officers.

The Minority Leader, Chijioke Chukwu, (APC—Bende South) supported the motion.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the development caused commotion and delayed proceeding as shouts of ‘order’ by the Speaker, Chinedum Orji, was ignored.

The speaker demanded reasons for their removal and evidence of the allegation but none was given.

Mr Taribo, who moved the motion, insisted: “I’m saying that these two officers should be relieved of their duties”.

Obinna Ichitta (APGA—Aba South) declared support for the motion.

“I’m so happy that my colleagues have spoken the way they did and I support everything they said,” Mr Ichitta said.

Some members demanded that the motion be subjected to a voice vote but the speaker adjourned the sitting.

Meanwhile, the House earlier confirmed the nominations of Henry Balogu, Clement Ugorji, Ngozi Ukwenyi and Joy Nwakamma as chairperson and members of the state Judicial Service Commission respectively.

The House also received from the Auditor-General of the State, the state’s third and fourth quarter audited report ending December 31, 2021.

left for you to decide. But I have a payoneer account which receives dollar abroad. And my dollar rate is N565 naira. It is that high because I have a nigerian Domiciliary account so I will take dollar cash from my GTB then go and convert it to naira with aboki. If you do the conversion at CBN rate it is N415 naira or so but mine is N565. So you gain lot more.

Do the mathematics your money is N1,130,000 at my rate.

That is 1million, 1 hundred and 30 thousand naira.

If you can give me my school fees of 30k i can receive the money for you and offer you 1million, 100 thousand, instead of 1million, 130 thousand.

I will also give you the benefit of opening a payoneer account for you to receive funds subsequent time by yourself and also show you how to open dollar account with a nigerian bank and trade dollar at N565 rate or more with an aboki in your area. That is the extra benefit of doing this deal with me, that I will give you.

We will video call extensively so you identify my face and confirm my details for assurance purpose.

PoliticsKwankwaso, Galadima, Others’ Third Force Vows To Dislodge APC by Ebubu5(op): 11:10am On Feb 23, 2022
Published 23 February 2022

A former governor of Kano State, Musa Kwankwaso on Tuesday joined forces with his associates, former political opponents and those he described as “progressives” to seize power from the All Progressives Congress in 2023.

He also pledged to restructure the country, describing it as “possible.”

Kwankwaso, also a former Minister of Defence, bared his mind during the inauguration of Third Force under the aegis of The National Movement convened by him to actualise his political mandate.

The formation of the Third Force with the slogan: ‘Save Nigeria, Rescue the Nation’, came a day after Kwankwaso said the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party have nothing new to offer Nigerians.

Some prominent Nigerians who attended the event include elder statesman and nationalist, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai; Buhari’s ally-turned fiercest critic, Buba Galadima; former Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung; a former Senator from Kaduna State, Suleiman Hunkuyi; former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu; Alhaji Ari Gwaska, Senator Grace Folashade-Bent; Chief Solomon Edoda; Senator Umale Shittu; Ibrahim Ringim; Chief Paul Okala; Rufai Hanga; Idris Wada; Alhaji Ali Gwaska; Prince Nweze Onu; Prof. Rufai Ahmed and former Vice-Chancellor, University of Ilorin, Prof. Oba Abduraheem, among others.

Speaking at the inauguration, Kwankwaso, who is currently a member of the PDP said it was the collective desire of the movement to rescue Nigeria from the socio-economic quagmire the country is currently going through.

“The mission of The National Movement is to ensure that Nigeria shall be a land of justice, freedom and equal opportunities where all citizens shall aspire to achieve their lifetime goals and ambitions, to live in peace, prosperity, and happiness.

“Today (Tuesday) is a special day in the history of Nigeria, a special day in the life of our great nation and a special day for all those of us who are desirous of working together collectively to redeem our nation.

“For too long, Nigerians have been waiting for this moment. For too long, Nigerians have been asking for a way out of our current severe economic and political predicament. For too long Friends of Nigeria both at home and abroad have been looking forward to the day Nigeria shall rise again.

“I am pleased to say, the place is here and the time is today and now. Today, 22-02-2022, being both an ambigram and a palindrome, is consciously chosen as a historic day on which we the people of Nigeria, cutting across all social, political, religious and ethnic backgrounds and affiliations, are assembled here to launch this extraordinary National Movement,” he stated.

While blaming corruption for the challenges in the country, he promised a ‘Marshall Plan’ to tackle corruption and rescue Nigeria from its socio-economic challenges.

He said, “No aspect of our national development will progress without finding a final solution to the issue of corruption, nepotism, and lack of national spread in the allocation of resources and representation at all levels of government.”

Kwankwaso, who said that the movement was hatched during the 2020 coronavirus lockdown, also pledged that the principles of federal character would be observed and fully respected in all the movement’s policies and programmes.

He said, “For too long, nepotism and crass nepotistic insensitivities and elite selfishness have robbed Nigeria of the talents, capacities and opportunities of its citizens. TNM will resolutely take all necessary measures to ensure that hard work and talent are fully recognized and rewarded.”

According to him, the movement which has the aim of salvaging Nigeria from poverty, insecurity, wasted resources and untapped potential, amongst others, cuts across all Nigerians irrespective of social, ethnic and regions affiliations, adding that “It is our collective resolve to rescue our nation from this difficult situation.”

The former defence minister added, “We resolved that there must be a Nigeria first before politics. While some of us will want to contest, we must work together to rescue the country.

Agitations of many sections of our beloved country for restructuring and realignment and resource control. We believe that the voice of the people is sacred, the voice of all our people, together, is the voice of God.

“Therefore, restructuring the corporate units of our great country is possible and doable. As vowed democrats, we are ready and prepared to act in concert with the wishes and desires comprehensively of all our people.”

Other speakers, including Alhali, Galadima and Dalung who apologised to Nigerians and sought their forgiveness for leading the campaign for APC, told Nigerians to rise to the challenge of bringing about positive change in 2023.

Galadima said he was forced to apologize to Nigerians because during the campaign they did not promise that a bag of rice would be N35,000 and that Nigerians were not promised that they would be raped and killed in their houses.

Politics2023: Tambuwal Gives Condition That Can Make A Southerner Become Nigeria’s Next by Ebubu5(op): 5:58pm On Feb 20, 2022
The Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal says it’s not impossible for a southerner to become the next president of Nigeria in 2023.

The submission comes amidst divided opinions about which region should produce the nation’s next president after Muhammadu Buhari.

Based on the controversial issue of zoning, a section of political stakeholders believe the 2023 presidency should go to the south while another group believes the north should still retain the presidency as zoning is not constitutional.

However, when asked during a recent interview with Daily Trust about the possibility of a southern candidate from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerging the next leader of the country should the party zone its ticket to the south, Tambuwal said it depends on the decision of political players and certain fundamental indices.

The Sokoto State Governor cautioned however that any political party that wants to win the 2023 election must do away with sentiments and strategize to present a candidate that can get the people’s vote regardless of the region.

He pointed out that the voting strength of every region in the country plays a critical role in determining election winners.

Responding to the question about a southern PDP presidential candidate for 2023;

Tambuwal said: “It depends on certain fundamentals and indices. If it is the decision of political players, just as it was done in 1999, that the major political parties would field candidates from a particular region as was done in the case of President Olusegun Obasanjo and Chief Olu Falae, then if Nigerians are having only two options from two regions, one of them would win. But if there is any political party that decides to go South and other ones North, the numbers will count. And we all know the voting strength of every bloc in this country. So it is up to political parties that are really interested in winning election not to be guided by certain primordial considerations or sentiments to strategize and throw up a candidate that can win election for that political party. It is a matter of strategy.”

2023 presidential hopeful, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, has condemned the recent killing of traders at the New Cattle Market in Omuma-Uzo, Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State where eight persons lost their lives.

In a strongly-worded statement of condemnation, Anyim described the attack and killing of the traders as barbaric and condemnable.

He lamented that the evil murderers were trying to stage one section of Nigerian against the other by taking the lives of defenceless and innocent citizens pursuing their legitimate businesses.

The statement which he personally signed read, “The unfortunate incident at the New Cattle Market in Omuma-Uzo, Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State where hoodlums attacked and killed eight traders is despicable, barbaric, and condemnable.

“These evil men spilling precious human blood and trying to set one group against another must be stopped at all cost.

“The insecurity In the South East and the country at large should be a matter of serious concern to every well-meaning Nigerian,” he cautioned.

Anyim, who is contesting the presidency of Nigeria on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, however, commended “the government of Abia State for condemning the dastardly act in strong terms and promising to take steps to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“I urge Abia State government to expedite actions to fish out the perpetrators as that will demonstrate to the whole world that the people of Abia State and indeed the entire Ndigbo of the South-East geopolitical Zone are lovers and protectors of their neighbors and visitors alike.

“I condole with those whose beloved ones died in the attack and pray that the Almighty God grants eternal rest to the souls of the departed.”

Simon Ekpa a self-acclaimed disciple of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has revealed how he had predicted that DCP Abba Kyari would be disgraced for allegedly killing innocent Igbos.

According to Ekpa, he had referred to the former commander of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team as a criminal before he was indicted in the US.

Naija News had earlier reported that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), declared him wanted for allegedly trafficking drugs

Kyari was subsequently arrested by the Nigeria Police Force and handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation.

Ekpa in a reaction on his Twitter account lamented that Kyari has allegedly killed Igbo people without them getting justice.

He wrote, “I called Abba Kyari a criminal even before the indictment in the US. I told him that for killing Biafrans, he will be disgraced and his career will end in Biafraland.

“Today is he not known globally as a criminal? The big question is, what happened to all the innocent Biafrans he killed?”
