Remind me of an accident that happened along owerri- porthacourt road, opposite Army Barracks in Owerri. U need to see how soldiers in less than 20 minutes split a luxurious bus with axe and rescued every passenger alive. But a soldier and the driver of the order vehicle involved in the accident lost their lives as they died instantly. |
Source pls. Since the govt is sleeping, private individual should venture into refining crude. |
Very possible. WORK HARD, AVOID WOMEN, BAD FRIENDS etc |
Odih Daniel: NECO should truly be scrapped By Odih Daniel on April 11, 2013 A byproduct of ethnic rivalry, the National Examination Council (NECO) has been the spell behind the fallen standard of education in Nigeria ever since its creation. Prior to its establishment in January, 2000, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), then The West African Examination Cancel (WAEC) which frustrated so many candidates through cancellation of results as a result of what it termed “mass cheating”, conducted the SSCE and later the WASSCE. The WAEC was perceived as largely the creation of the Yorubas of Western Nigerian, and so, the Northerners then felt the need to establish something that would give an edge to their people who, before the birth of NECO, did not find SSCE easy. Many of them stayed out of school for lack of clearance from the WAEC; hence, the NECO. I support the scrapping of the National Examination Corruption (NECO) as reportedly stated by the Presidency following the Stephen Oronsaye-led Presidential Committee report because the half-baked and the non-baked graduates who form the large number of the national education woes today are the disciples of NECO. A candidate who has three credits in WASSCE excluding English and Mathematics has nine distinctions in NECO SSCE including English and Mathematics. What magic! A friend of mine is today ashamed of presenting his NECO result of nine distinctions, when he managed to get passes (E8) in English Language and Mathematics in WAEC and had to resit the papers the following year. In 2008, a certain Science student who had Literature-in-English and Commmerce registered for him against Physics and Chemistry, and who refused to sit the papers, had B2 in Literature-in-English and C4 in Commerce. How did NECO get the scores for these subjects for this candidate? In 2011, a candidate was on his way to the community where he registered the NECO examination when he had an accident and died. No one from his family sat the examination. But when NECO released the result, the candidate had nine B2′s. How did it happen!? There are no short-cuts in education. It is either you are made or you are marred. In an attempt to help make candidates go to schools at all costs, NECO marred the Nigerian education system. The first step in creating sanity in the education system in Nigeria is the removal of NECO; the thorn in the fles. http://dailypost.com.ng/2013/04/11/odih-daniel-neco-should-truly-be-scrapped/?wt=3 |
