Do you think the change to mercon V will not have any adverse effect on the transmission? As the tech than service for previous owner claimed he uses holt atf to top up for the past 3 years.
If you plan on doing a flush, change back to Mercon V.

How does the gear perform at the moment? If you plan on doing just a drain and refill, then you can use the Holt dex 3.

Car manufacturers normally specify the kind of ATF to be used for cars with automatic gearboxes. Take for example, Toyota cars do have the recommended ATF inscribed on the stick that you use to gauge the gear oil. Either D1, D11 or D111, as the case may be. So, I will simply advice that before you change your car ATF, kindly check the specification(s) on the dip stick.
Well said. However have you tried changing ATF for German cars such as VW with no dipstick? Some were originally built with hopes that ATF would last the lifetime of the vehicle but this is not so.

For some cars, the specified ATFs are not in the market. In such case, we recommend a good alternative

From 2009, Ford transmissions using Mercon V were changed to Mercon LV.

Please never interchange both as they are not compatible. The Mercon LV has lower viscosity and is made for newer transmissions.

Brake Dust, What is it and What causes it?

It's time to wash the car, but when you get to the wheels they are covered by a hard to remove gray dust. Even after you clean it off, it comes back quickly. Welcome to the world of brake dust. The good news is brake dust is completely normal and is not a symptom of failing brakes; the bad news is every time you use your brakes you create more brake dust.

WHAT IS BRAKE DUST?
The unsightly brake dust that we all see on automotive wheels is 92% Iron (Fe) which simply put is in part iron caused by abrasion of the cast iron brake rotor(disc) by the pad and secondly fibers from the semi metallic elements of the brake pad. The remainder of the dust residue is carbon content within the brake pad.

99% of automotive brake pads made these days are made as a semi metallic meaning a bundle of steel fibers compressed and fused together with other additives. The steel fiber content can be up to 30% of the pad and this abrasive material is what scratches your brake rotor and causes the dust.

It's possible to buy non-metallic brake pads, which are made with Kevlar fibers, but they are expensive so very few automakers use them as standard equipment. In the industry, these types of brake pads are referred to as organics and tests have shown that they outperform as well as outlast normal brake pads. In addition, there is a significant reduction in brake dust as well as rotor abrasion.

WHY IT'S IMPORTANT TO CLEAN BRAKE DUST
While brake dust is not indicative of a malfunctioning brake system, it can be harmful to the wheels if it is never cleaned. Brake dust can corrode the clear coat and over time it will eventually eat into the aluminum alloy surface of the wheel.

Fortunately, cleaning brake dust is not that difficult and the main ingredient is elbow grease. Your local automotive shop should sell wheel cleaner, which will come in handy when dealing with brake dust. Here is what you will need:

Bucket
Sponge
Wheel cleaner
Hose and nozzle
Soft bristle brush
Liquid wax

HOW TO CLEAN BRAKE DUST
The wheels should be cool before you start.

Rinse off the entire rim off with water, which will remove grit and dirt that may scratch the wheel during the scrubbing.

Cover the rim with wheel cleaner and allow it to soak for 60 seconds. Make sure you get the cleaner into all of the nooks and crannies of the wheel as this is where dust tends to accumulate.

Use a soft bristle brush and scrub the surface of the wheel, make sure the brush gets into all of the small, recessed areas of the wheel.

Rinse off the wheel cleaner as soon as you have brushed the entire wheel. Do not leave the wheel cleaner on the wheel for any length of time.

Dry off the wheel immediately after rinsing.

Applying a coat of paste wax every few months will help protect the wheel as well as make them easier to clean the next time brake dust builds up.

As long as the husband remain a free thinking human, such war can never be won barring any catastrophic consequence.
Even if the wife got rid of one strange woman, there is nothing stopping the husband from getting another chic.

The funny thing is that this kind of advice to fight for marriage is reserved for only women.
If it were to be a man on the receiving end and he refused to disnegage, he would be termed
a fool and coward for putting up with a "hoe".
My advice was directed to both parties. The man too.

Summary: Wife, take any shit your husband does, be his slave and never react to his irresponsible actions.

This is one of the worst advice I have ever read.
Love is a two-way affair, when it becomes one-way the right thing to do is to flee.
Everybody deserves happiness in a relationship, a situation where one partner is free as a bird
while the other suffer in silence is unacceptable.

Smart women leaves when the signs are clear.

Two things are bound to happen when a wife is "fighting for man"

The 1st wife did not fight for her philandeering husband, today she
is free and living her life.
While the 2nd wife who fought for her man is now in jail, will probably
get a life imprisonment while the man is dead.

Never fight for the love of an adults because they have the mental
capacity to love or not to love and it is foolish to try to force it.
I beg to disagree in the context of marriage. You must be ready to wage war oh to win your spouse back if it comes to this, especially when there's a strange woman involved.
I will agree with you if there's physical abuse involved.
Marriage no be come go oh

I always advice every woman never to give up the man they truly love for any opprtunistic woman, stay there and fight till your man comes to hia senses , dont make it easy for any mumu witch to take the love of life with ease ..These days I see women give up their homes because of common text they see in their husbands phones thereby making it too easy for opportunist stealer women to have their way ..Yes your husband will definitley get infatuated by a strange woman in course of your love journey but remembet those infatuation spells have short term span and could be over from 3 weeks to year but most women just easily give up to fight to keep their man at the sight of the first text message and thats how love stories are being spoilt daily in our generation .. Women don make it easy for scheming women to steal your man just like that.
Well said....

You mean dexron iii fluid in place of LT 71141?
Is it only Castrol Dexron iii that can serve as replacement among dexron 3s?
There are so many brands in the market to pick from. We recommend Castrol as this is also recommended by BMW.
We cannot vouch for other products. But however we hear Oando has good stuff.

Car is Honda Civic 2008 Automatic.

Please what is the recommended ATF? How many litres of atf is required and how much? Thanks
Honda recommends ATF-z1 but this has been replaced by Honda with DW-1 ATF.

Your tranny requires 5.9litres for a complete fill. But this is when everything is completely drained including torque converter.

We sell the DW-1 ATF for N4k per liter.

2001 vw passat turbo engine.what kind of engine oil and transmission oil to be used?
What size of engine is your car? The 1.8Turbo requires SAE 5w40 oil, Castrol preferable. Capacity is 4.1litres of oil. Because of the Turbo, VW strongly recommends synthetic oil because of amount of heat generated.

For transmission, use the Castrol Dexron III
