My brethren, there are always two things involved
It is either you are rich of you are poor.

If you are rich, you are safe. But if you are poor, there are 2 things involved

it is either you die a natural death or your children use you for blood money

Your assumptions about me flatter me. Unfortunately never even got any higher education stopped at kindergarten so even third class is a super advancement for my present level.

There does that assist with your erectile dysfunction? Is it standing well now?

Now let me help your egotiscally pervesely sorry excuse of what you assume is a life.

Get a copy of Forbes.Read 100 richest then come back to justify your claim.

That's one.

Secondly ... why am I even talking to this waste of space. So you had to get Bill gates to justify your claim? No first class graduate? Dude if you ever find yourself if court don't try to defend yourself, you'll just be working for the lawyer for free.
This is part of the type of thing we're talking about here.

I think you are officially the silliest person on Nairaland. I was wondering why you were reasoning like a toddler. It is very clear to me now. Your parents didnt afford you the opportunity to go to school. School is not just about western education. Morals are taught there too.

Success means different things to different people. So many people find satisfaction and fulfillment in their work. Talk about engineers, doctors, lecturers etc. They lead happy lives. People that finish with good grades work with the best companies in the world, proffer solutions to problems in the society and move up the ladder to become CEOs and MDs and they live a fulfilled life, not forgetting to mention that they become affluent too. Some also set up their own businesses in the process.

On the other hand, all the "third-class" and "pass" graduates i know are presently wishing they came out with better grades. They are finding life very difficult at the moment.

If I may ask, what company have you set up? Tell me how you have impacted the society. Tell me the name of your company, what you do and the number of people you have employed, since you believe that people that illiterates like you/people that graduate with poor grades birth companies and impact positively on the society. AND PLEASE TELL ME YOUR COMPANY IS ONE OF THE FIRST 100 BIGGEST COMPANIES IN THE WORLD

E pain am!

You need to change your approach to life. I did not even want to respond to you at first. Stop envying others. Be happy when people around you succeed. Hate will not get you anywhere.

You dared me to mention any first class graduate that owns a company or has impacted positively on the society. One of such people is Jarus. He is an active nairalander. He graduated with a first class in OAU and he has impacted so many lives and I am quite sure he is leading a good life.

I know the advice you will give to your children is to make sure they graduate with poor grades, or you might not even deem it fit to send them to school in the first place.

Hatred will only choke and stunt your growth.

Get a life!

[s]so you ran here to come and say this?

Id expect that part of graduating with good grades would include being able to hold your grounds logically to justify your opinions.

This is an act of cowardice.

I read your post and you honestly want to tell me in your small world of graduating with first class, which by the way is one your kinds biggest problems every first class graduate has a great job?

You see coming here to start a new thread wont change facts.

However let me come into your small world (something we who didnt graduate with first class are fvcking good at doing) and shatter it

Graduate first class get a ggod job recession comes, company (started obviously by someone who didnt graduate first class) downsizes. You think if your deliverables are not good they will say because you graduated first class lets sack the guy with good deliverables after all he didnt graduate first class?

Yes lets leave Aliko and Bill Gates

Please name one First class graduate who has been able to birth a company, see it come to bloom and then provide a means of livelihood for other members of the society.

One.

Just One.

I dare you.

Now that company youre going to work with as a first class graduate you think theory will provide revenue to keep the balance sheets to pay your salary?

Look carefully its the guys without the first class who pull out all the stops to make things happen.

After your first two to four years experience on the job and deliverables become what matter to any right thinking employer.

your case is like a year 4 student in the university screaming i scored 320 in Jamb, seriously of what relevance is that in your fourth year i beg you?[/s]

Go get a life

Quit hating bro. Envy will only reduce your life span

Anything worth doing is worth doing well

People have the right to pursue first class grade

You have no bloody right to condemn them

You dont like it? That's your problem not theirs

I honestly dont know where you get this info of how first class graduates get not to live a happy life and I dont care!

Pius Adesanmi world renowed professor
Mallam El Rufai current governor of kaduna state
That guy that won iroko programming contest and many more i friggin cant mention are out there moving from one level of achievement to another and you're here ranting

Even here on nairaland we have many of them!

Mcmaster01 and Soe just won PRESSID scholarship together with many others who I dont know

You're daring us to mention one who has birthed a company?

Have you heard of JARUSHUB owned by a Jarus a nairalander?

He has written a book that has impacted greatly on the lives of students and professionals

Since them born you which book you don write?

YOU REALLY NEED TO PARK WELL!

I think he needs to get a life!. He is probably a third class graduate living a frustrated life. It is written all over his comment. I was annoyed with the topic of that foolish post. Who is he to determine who becomes "somebody in life"? Even Bill Gates said “Although I dropped out of college and got lucky pursuing a career in software, getting a degree is a much surer path to success. College graduates are more likely to find a rewarding job, earn higher income, and even, evidence shows, live healthier lives than if they didn’t have degrees,”

First of all, the thread didn't encourage graduating with a bad grade. It only emphasized the need of working on your personality while also studying.

Also, a friend in my school once told me that most lecturers in her department all graduated with a 2nd class lower honours. So i don't know where you got your assertions that most first class graduates become lecturers.

Most first class graduates get retained by their schools. Some choose not stay probably because they already got a mouth-watering offer elsewhere.

This is in response to this thread https://www.nairaland.com/2480780/reasons-why-first-class-students#36314109

Please graduate with a first class if you can. First class graduates are respected all over the world but hated on Nairaland. Most nairalanders believe that all first class graduates crammed their way through school, which is not always the case. The truth is that a first class or second-class upper graduate stands a better chance to get a good job in Nigeria. Most companies hire only first class and 2-1 graduates. I respect first class graduates a lot because they must have put in a lot of discipline and dedication to come out with such grade. One thing i have noticed is that first class graduates generally perform better in the work place. They put in the same passion and dedication and they tend to be focused.

I always get angry when I hear people mention the likes of Dangote and Bill Gates as reasons to graduate with a poor grade. The question is this: how many "third-class" or "pass" graduates have made it in life compared to the proportion that are wallowing in poverty? How many school drop-outs have achieved something in life? Very few, I must say.

Who said first class graduates do not own businesses? Many have built empires for themselves.

Many first class graduates also remain the the academics and end up as professors. They contribute to the existing body of knowledge and offer practical solutions to problems bedeviling our society today. The assertion that they do not contribute any thing to humanity is not necessarily true.

This post should not be misconstrued as saying having is a first class is a ticket to success in life. Like they always say, life is what you make out of it. Most importantly, first class certificate could be a stepping stone to achieve great things.
