Hello everyone, I applied for TRV with my husband as the principal applicant. After 90days of applying, he received a mail to submit his passport but we are yet to get any information about my application. Has anyone experienced this? I just want to know what to expect and how long it may take for be to get a response. We plan to travel in March.

i know a man that apply with his family ,only him was granted the visa but his wife and children were refused ..they all apply together as a family ..the wife and children decision arrive firstly with refused and his own approved decision came in a month after ..l wish you all the best as you wait for a good decision

sure it fine ,you can apply earlier,Canada visa duration it often in the range of 6 month to end of your passport validity based on your travel date ..so if you apply earlier .the visa officer see your travel date and will put that into consideration if visa granted

Hi...am Zeenat and am new here. My family(my husband, my kids nd) relocated to Canada last year may as pr. In January i filed for my mums super visa online. Submitted on the 1st of jan. Got a biometrics letter on the 2nd, biometrics was completed on the 6th of jan. But her application was rejected today.
Reasons:
1) the v.o wasn't satisfied she would return back to home country because of her travel history.
2) because of family ties in Canada and Nigeria.
I will put to bed in a few weeks/days time. Please how can I reapply as soon as possible, and what documents do I need to prove the stated reasons otherwise ��. Thanks

From my own view i think you should have started firstly by applying tourist visa because super visa is not that easy anf One of the key requirements for obtaining the Super Visa is insurance. Super Visa applicants must submit proof that they have purchased private medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company which is valid for a minimum of one year and offers a minimum of $100,000 in coverage for health care, hospitalization and repatriation and is valid for each entry into Canada and available for review by a port of entry officer...do you add that insurance which is often like 1000cad

One of Nairaland brother gave me another option to book multiple flight ticket.to Eygpt after I get my student visa, I should move to my school.

How did you see this option too?

Also a good option,just go along with all your document to show ur motive and student apication plan and one more question..are you sure it 100% you get the student visa in eygpty

How many days itenaru did u state in ur letter and when exactly did you apply for this visa? you said you got ur biometric validity letter on February 7,and another one on February 8?? you can’t be sent validity letter twice!

Sure you may get issue at the airport and not allowed board the plane or entry to ur destination because travellimg to a country where you have no resident with a one way ticket on a tourist visa is not accepted practice but your best option is buy a refundable ticket..then when you get to the country where you want to apply visa ,you can apply for refund on your ticket and buy a new ticket to your next destination after you secure your student visa.

But i never used the visa due to various reasons.
I was living abroad then and it seems the system of application is different from nigeria.
I need some enlightenement.
I wish to reapply for the visa again later this year.
I have considerable travel history to europe,asia,USA etc,

you can apply again,nothing changes and If you given biometrics in the last 10 years for a visitor visa, work permit, or study permit and they’re still valid, you don’t have to give them again if you’re applying to visit, work, or study.

The best way is only if you are married together So what happens when you marry a Canadian citizen or permanent resident? The first step, however, is applying for spousal sponsorship. According to statistics from Canada immigration department at the end of 31 December 2018, India citizen that claim asylum in Canada with pending case is 5,175 ,while Pakistan is 2,788 and Nigerian top the chart with 12,138…now you have an ideal why Nigerian visa processing time is much longer now

This look differenent because if you appply online after biometric correspondence letter sent to u ..within the next 48 hours you should get a final decision ...maybe the process change..maybe

Hi, please I just went to VFS office but they said my passport has not gotten back to them. I dropped it there and they said 15 working days. Today makes it 15 working days and I just left and got a message from VFS global that my package was just dispatched at 8.11 am 3rd of February. Should I go back to Vfs now? Or wait till tommorrow? It’s stressful

Better wait till tomorrow or wednesday..ur visa is approved so relax and sure it there or email vfs to sure you passport is ready for collection

I still wonder why Nigeria processing time is 74 days - the only country with very high processing time. Other countries including our neighbors- Ghana, Chad, Niger and most African countries have processing time less than 30 days.

The answer is simple..the number of nigerians applicant is much higher and more check is neded compare to other africa countries

Thanks for your response. We want to be proactive. If she could secure a visit visa to attend job fairs, she could land herself a job and then a work permit if LMIA is required for the job. Yes, I know her Noc was chosen in August and that was few days before her crs increased so that could be a reason why she didn't get NOI. I would seriously cherish any advice to apply for tourist visa. Gracias.

Getting a tourist visa to attend a job fair more without a travel history will be hard.. but she can try apply different job online and hope for the best in the pool or other ways to boost her scores too

Fill in the main applicant name only since it a family application other family member will show up in the application account online ..that good enough

AOR is an acronym that stands for the term “Acknowledgment Of Receipt”. An AOR indicates that the Canadian consulate, embassy, or high commission, has received your application for permanent residency and has issued a case file number for the application submitted..and you submitted for a tourist visa so AOR is not for you ...if you want to see more update and progress on your paper application ,Link Your paper based application to your Online account.

My mum has previously been denied Visa to enter U.S. She has been denied 3 times. How much details should I include in her application to visit Canada. Should I focus on her reason for denial on the 3rd recent refusal? Or all of them? The other two was a long time ago and we don't know reason for refusal for those ones. Also, aside the reason for refusal, what other detail should I include? Thanks guys!

Just state she was refuse usa visa 3 times..that good enough,the canada visa will see it on the system but focus more why she want to come to canada for a visit and attach neccessary proof of financial and tie to home country

You need to know the reason rather than applying without knowing the actual reasons for denial.

Gcms will not show reason for usa visa refuse ..it about canada application so if you never apply canada visa previously it impossible to order gcms note without a case number because of usa refusal

Hello Everyone , Been so quiet lately as regards renewing visa but here is a bit of my story .

My husband applied for a J1 visa because he was chosen for the Obama Scholar Foundation program . (Note) He is well travelled and have been to US uncountable times and have never stayed for 1month , he couldn’t even come to childbirth.

The first visa application was denied - Because the VO claimed he took a discount durning our childbirth in the US . He tried explaining to the VO that we paid cash and we were generally given a discount for self pay but he was denied .

We contacted the hospital - OAKBEND HOSPITAL ... They said we can’t get any other letter except the zero balance letter we have been given before bla bla bla ...

The second time , the VO didn’t give him enough time for explanation. DENIED. But advise him to get an Immigration lawyer to sort out the issue.

Fast forward, we got an immigration lawyer in the US and paid 2000usd , he was able to iron out lot of things legally and we were told to contact the hospital to ask for the full bill before discount .

My husband contacted OAKBEND and they claim they can’t take any money etc , He reported OAKBEND hospital to TEXAS HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION . Lol and behold , OAKBEND sent us a mail that we need to pay 10,000usd to complete with what was paid before in order to get a new itemized bill without discount .

We paid this money and got the new itemized bill and a letter from Oakbend . My husband went for the THIRD visa application and the VO denied him again without any reason.

He wrote a mail to the US consular general and US Ambassador in Nigeria . He sent lot of Letters through DHL .

The consular general contacted him to go for his interview and he was given VISA (J1)

Back to my story - I applied to renew my visa tht expires August 2019 ... In a view to visit my husband who has been away since September for Xmas but was DENIED . The VO didn’t give me enough time to show all my document .

I booked another - The VO asked if I have new document but told him the previous VO didn’t have enough time to check my document to see I paid my bills in full . He said I will go thro the administrative process ... Alias , I got my passport back Jan and denied again.

Now , with the new development with the US government, I see the reason for the denial .
We already wrote a letter to the new Consular general but I am done applying for US visa .

This exactly what l told my brother then the family had similar situation . They got the visa for child birth present same document to apply for visa showing tbe cost breakdown at the interview it was all ok and the visa issued . The family travel pay tbe cost and back to nigeria,3 years later about to renew visa and got refuse for discount story begin...he contact the hospital and was told he paid his bill then since it was cash but if he wanted he can donate minimum 10000 usd or more to the hospital..i was opposed to this ideal because l know even paying that cannot gurantee visa and make no semse to me if the visa was issued by same embassy and suddently 3 years later it wrong ,it better you donate the Money to a charity in nigeria to fund a program if u have that money to dash ..we argue on it but my brother accepted my advice and instead they begin processing canada ppr ...the wife delivery the baby in nigeria and she refuse to communicate to me and begin to show disrespect that i was the cause of her second child not getting usa ctizenship because l advice my brother not to pay the momey because he was funding me then and we are stepbrothers .l just take it cool ,anytime l visit their house in ikoyi she will instruct the gateman not to open the gate for me that nobody at home ,i respect my brother and never want my issue cause a stain in their relationship so l limit my visit ....while in the pool ,i got canada pr and l left nigeria this also boost their point and they came in 7 month after me .now they are canadian permanent resident my brother was lucky got a better job with a good pay cheque and the wife now studying nursing degree and they apply for same usa visa in canada and
All got 10 years validity,the officer only ask what happen then on their refuse they show all receipt and explain all in details ..and in 2 years they will all qualified for canada citizenship..the discount story is just a coverup to refuse visa and limit child birth especially from nigeria..now we see the new rule...l thank God my brother wife is my very good friend now.she apologise for the past and we all move on.last time we discuss she said even the usa citizenship for her first son may be an issue later in future as per tax laws as the boy may have to file tax return in usa and canada as an adult she read that information somewhere .funny woman
