I need someone to advise me on this pls.
I'm planning to apply for a Visitation visa to Canada through an agency here in Nigeria, with the hope of working when I get to Canada. I asked the agent and he told me the main issue is the visa, that once the visa is been granted the work permit is minimal (i.e nothing to worry about). And from what I've been reading here I'm a bit confused, so I need someone to help me put more light.

Is it possible to get a work permit with a visiting visa either when someone gets to Canada or before going to Canada?

I'm a graphics designer and I work for myself..A registered business with a business account.

I'm looking forward to get the best response from anyone with the experience...

Let not the agent decieve you ..you cannot work with a visit visa in canada unless you claim aslyum which is now even more difficult but as a graphic designer please look at the canada federal skill worker program it can be of great benefit to you.

Is it possible to travel to Canada with a visiting visa, and get a stay and permit to work in Canada? If there is a process someone can go through to get that done.

you cannot get a stay or work with a visit visa in Canada unless you claim asylum ,An asylum claimant must demonstrate persecution based on one of the five protected grounds (race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group or political opinion). and if you asylum claim is rejected you will be on next plane to Nigeria so think wise and look at federal skill worker immigrate program to Canada

Anybody can apply for a visa only from anywhere. Are you saying he can apply as a resident in the US? Did you imply that the person you know that was in the US with b1/b2 visa applied as a resident of the US or the person applied online and the application was treated like every other Nigerian applying from Nigeria?

yes he was in usa in b1/b2 visa and he explain

he choose united state of America . AND status he choose VISITOR

and the the duration was is I94 dated 6 months ..and he told me he explain why he wanted to visit Canada in the letter of explanation ..it was a tourist visa he apply and was granted ...i do not know about student visa

Canada and usa share visa applicant data base information,so you need to tell the truth about your location because the canada vo already know you are in the usa and you can apply in the usa and if ur visa is approved you can fly directly to canada.. i know a man that apply from usa on a b1/b2 visa and his canada application was granted and he came directly to canada fron usa and return to nigeria from canada

Talk what you know ..not what you don't know. You can travel for the first time and get a VISA. You can also travel to the 7 continents and still be refused a visa. Everything depends on your paper work, purpose and genuine reason for the trip.

Well,if you have no travel experience CANADA will refuse your TOURIST VISA...usa,uk or eu may give you visa but CANADA WILL REFUSE YOUR TOURIST VISA,am not talking about family visit ,or business or student visa...TOURIST VISA I MEAN..so read my comment again for better understanding

from my own experience my father submitted is passport on Monday and was told to come back after 2 weeks but by Thursday night ..i have a ghost update from cic and l check his online application and i see the line for Document Status with document counterfoil ..so i track the application on vfs website and it passport status updated ..so l contact the vfs on Friday morning and l was told the passport is available for collection and it was picked up on Friday and visa issued

Canada place an important weight on travel history in accessing your visit visa application ,especially if your travel reason is not for family visit ...you have not visited even Ghana or uk or usa or any eu and you wake up and decide Canada is your tourist destination ,you are highly likely to be refused even with 50 million in your account

do not worry urself about the ticket reservation ...it not compulsory even a screen shot of the ticket price from the ticket sale or airline site is good enough evidence because what the visa officer is more concern about is your financial means to pay for your trip and ties to your country ,travel history and main purpose of coning to Canada ...l applied online for my father recently with same method attached screen shot from wakanow showing airline with ticket price and l also indicated the ticket price in my letter of explanation and how i will pay for it and his visa was approved ..i indicated the date when he will arrive Canada and depart but passport request letter was issued after the proposed dates

You need 1 year of non-seasonal work experience (at least 1,560 hours) in the past 3 years. Your work experience must be in an eligible occupation within an eligible industry.

Work experience must be acquired in the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.

sir,l guess you making some error firstly if you applying for tourist visa which conference fall under why are you filling the express entry profile and The Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) which covers certain pre-departure medical services for refugees coming to Canada for resettlement.(are you a refugee going to Canada) you should delete those 2 part then you can follow this link on YouTube which explain how you can apply Canada visa online and many other video on youtube on how you can apply Canada visa online and sir next time when filling any form you can use youtube as your guide .

You need to apply for Canadian visitor’s visa enclosing a letter you have received from the conference organizers, you also need to show enough funds for your expenses in Canada like accommodation, meals, travel and etc. In case the conference organizers cover all your expenses ), then a letter stating the coverage of all costs.
