It’s been months here,you are right about PR holders struggling from beginning but their struggle is not the same with students. It’s harder for students . A Neighbor of mine who is a PR holder from Poland is doing menial jobs here and he is a licensed doctor from Poland. But the thing is, where he works is 3 hours away from home, using TTC , he could easily get a car and go to work because he is not studying. Imagine if a student is going to a workplace 3 hours away everyday, how long can such student keep such job. Even the PR holder is also complaining because he can’t even save anything from is 3200cad a month job after paying all bills and car insurance.on the outside looking in, people won’t know how this place is until they come in! It is Better than nigeria in anything no doubt but it is way below many expectations !

Yeah brother school is in Ontario Toronto and it’s pretty tough out here. Very hard to get a job aswell.


I see some people open there mouth to talk anyhow saying students didn’t come with enough BTa or something, I just laughed. Me and my few friends spend over 1300 dollars each every month . Do the Maths in nigeria money that’s almost N780,000 plus if you use the black market which is what we use . That is some people salary in nigeria for a whole year.

Let me break it down. A room here is from 850cad each month which is even shared toilet and kitchen. Some of my friends are paying a thousand cad each month. You will buy foodstuffs, transportation, phone bill and other things.

Now tell me how much you want to come in with from naija without a job , how long can you last before going broke. People just come online saying bta bla bla bla. Even if you have enough bta to last you a whole year, without working , how do you balance it up. I am repeating myself if you are not from a rich home or you don’t have money to survive here, it’s better you come with a PR so that you can live anywhere. Also note that here is not UK or other part of the world where everyone is doing social work. To even get social work job here you will go to School , if you check centennial college PSW is 17k cad above. Some peope do short courses but at the end of the day it won’t get them license.

Everything here is different, you go to school or get a license for common liquor store job, even to climb long heights you go to school to get license.

People are struggling to come here praying everyday when me and some friends are going through hell on earth here in canada. No job everything is also very expensive. Spending lots of cash we came with from naija

Except you are financially okay and come from a rich home. I advice anyone who want to come here to come in with PR. If you are struggling do not bother coming here with. Student visa because it’s hard here.

Good evening guys, please i got an email from vfs on the 22nd of December 2022 that my processed passport has been dispatched from the Canada visa office on 2022/12/22 to the Canada visa application center and my decision envelope will be returned to me via courier service offered by the vac but I have not received any thing from any courier service,has anyone experienced this

I think you need to wait for a mail from vfs that is ready for pickup mine also shows your processed passport has been forwarded to VAC below when tracked but seems it’s still in abuja and yet to be returned to lagos. For those who picked up their passport did you receive a separate mail that it’s ready for pickup

I paid DHL to dispatch my ppt to VFS Lagos and then picked it in person at their Lagos office as well FOC.

Oh okay . That means after processing in abuja the vac returned it back to vfs themselves

All passports are taken to Abuja for stamping, including the ones submitted to Lagos indirectly or indirectly..

Once your passport is ready for pickup, you will definitely be notified..

The counterfoil I'm aware of is the one glued to the ppt when it's submitted, I'm not sure of the one that reflects on the portal.
Ppt pickup availability email/SMS comes from vfs where you submitted it and not from IRCC

Seems you picked up your passport yourself. Did you pay any money when you submitted your passport. I submitted myself in lagos where I did my biometric . I didn’t pay any money I even ask the lady if I am to pay any fee and she checked on computer and said no. She ask if I am coming to pickup my passport myself and I said yes. I am tracking the passport it’s showing your processed passport received at vac abuja. Hope it will be sent back to lagos when it’s ready for collection and vfs will notify me to pickup

You don’t need to send any mail to IRCC oh! Get your visa, then move. As long as you did not change school, you are good. Also don’t buy any insurance from Nigeria, it will be useless, you only need it if you are dead. You should use your school’s health insurance, it is very very very very important.

Hello everyone do I need to send updated admission letter of deferment via webform to notify ircc after visa was approved .i was supposed to resume first week of December but due to delay in visa I deferred my admission to March 2023 and My school just sent my deferment letter for March intake and I have already submitted my passport for visa printing. Is their any point notifying ircc now . I don’t want them to delay anything or ask for any update again that’s why I want to wait till I get my passport back first before even notifying them if their is any need for that.


Also can anyone suggest cheap health insurance for international study asides axamansard . My school want to hustle me 500cad for 1 year health insurance

I can’t defer anymore because I already defer from September to January intake , this is my second application
my first application was denied , if I don’t meet up with the resumption date my tuition deposit fee is gone and my admission too, I have to apply for new admission

How can your tuition deposit be gone . You need to ask for your money back though may not get 100 percent but atleast 85percent of your money incase visa is denied. Any school that fail to refund you should be reported to the authority. Tuition deposit can only be forfeited if student decides not to go to the school on purpose and not cases of denial
