Nairaland / General / When Last Did You Make Use Of Print Oxford Dictionary? by eddyland: 7:57am On Sep 16, 2014
Me that before there was never a day that will pass by that I will not open my Advance Learners paper Oxford Dictionary to either learn new words or check for vacabulary that enters my ear. Though I just did that now, but prior to now it has almost being a month that I did that.

Not that I no longer open dictionary, but my daily dictionary these days has either being any of these; Google, Wikipedia, phone or computer dictionary (E-dictionry).Sometimes I even forget that I have an Oxford book dictionary around me.

What about you, how often do you make use of you print dictionary these days?

MabraO: There re some fully grown trees u just can't bend no matter how you try
some of those trees that u tink that cannot be bend can realy be bent only if u try bending it, cos u cant just look at a tree nd feel it cant be bent without givin it a bending trial

It seems the current and latest Android Kit Kat OS is already getting old as Google is already working on the new and latest Android OS, termed Android L that will be launched later in the year together with a new Nexus device, the Nexus 6.

If you remember last year, Nexus 5 was the first phone to launch the Android Kit Kat OS. So this time around it seems Google is also now following trend as you may likely see the Nexus 6 launching the Android L OS.

Politics / Opinions: Do You Think That The Verdict On Pistorious Was Justified? by eddyland: 4:29pm On Sep 12, 2014
Well that is law for you. Pistorious has only being charged for manslaughter in the killing of his girlfriend, which is the act of killing unwishfully.

Now do you think that justiced was truly served and that the judges were not trying to protect the legendary Olimpiad in the person of Pistorious?

Tecno and Infinix products are from the same company.
They are not from the same company. They are entirely two different products from entirely different companies. Infinix phones even have the touch of French company in them, they are product of France and Hong Kong whereas Tecno is a typical Chinko made phone.

Phones / Tecno Phones In Hot Soup As Prices Of Other MTK Phones Drop Drastically by eddyland: 2:26pm On Sep 08, 2014
The truth is that with what is going on now in the MTK smartphone wars, Tecno phones are in serious trouble. With series of MTK phones showing up at much cheaper prices than Tecno, who know what could happen to Tecno next.

After the Innjoo phones that came and crashed the MTK phone prices, here is the Infinix again with device like Infinix Zero (the 16gb/2gb) going for only N25,000 then what will become of Tecno Phantom A+, Tecno latest Phones; the Tecno R7 that sells for N40K and the Tecno Phantom Z that sells for N57K.

Now considering that Infinix Zero has all those features that the Tecno R7 and Phantom Z has, will you sill doll out N40k and N57k to buy Tecno when Infinix can give you what they are offering for only N25K?

And also remember that Tecno phantom A+ (F7) is still selling for N32k... and it is even quad core with only 4GB internal memory, 8MP camera whereas Infinix zero is Octa core with far higher features like Corning gorilla glass, 16GB internal memory etc that is not found in those other Tecno phones.

Nairaland / General / Is Shopping From Jumia Becoming Better Than Konga? by eddyland: 2:52pm On Sep 03, 2014
Jumia and Konga are the two largest Nigerian online stores that sell almost all type of consumer products. I have been a perpetual shopper on both shops for two years now cos I always shop for myself and as well as shop for others here in Portharcourt.

At my earlier experiences, Konga has performed far better than Jumia. Then all items on Konga are free delivery without any additional shipping cost and delivery was quite prompt. In 3 to 4 days of order my items have arrived my door
steps and always intact with exactly what I ordered for.

Jumia on the other hand, my earlier experiences were not very rosy, infact exact opposite of what I described before. It takes them about two weeks to deliver most of my items and even when the items arrive, its either a diffenrent or lower version of what I odered for. Shipping cos was quite expensive, to the extent that they even charge up to 10k to ship some items.

But presenty, it seems the tide has changed and I have noticed great improvement on the side of Jumia and as if Konga are begining to backslide on quality of service delivery.

Now my recent shopping experiences on Konga has not being very good. Most things I ordered from them took 2 weeks for them to arrive unlike before. And the funy thing now with Konga is that even if you are shopping for a pack of match that is as light as feather they will still charge you N1500 delivery fee outside Lagos.

Then coming down to recent experiences with Jumia, it has been quite impressive, ranging from good customer relation service to lower shipping fees on lighter goods. And withing 4 days of order most of my items have arrived intact in the same manner which I ordered them.

This whole thing has now made me to say that Jumia is turning a new leaf while Konga is trying to be clumsy in terms of quality service delivery.

How about you, have you being shopping on both shops recently, let's hear your latest experiences

Sports / Man U, Tottenham And Arsenal Are Not Title Contenders by eddyland: 7:12pm On Aug 31, 2014
Yes you can still say that the season is just begining. But mark my words today, you can call it prophesy from a Nairalander.

ManU, Tottenham and Arsenal are no title contenders this season. I see Everton making it to champions league at the end of this season.
