NYSC / Mrs Eno Ekong Retire From NYSC, Congratulatory Message From Edet Edem Akpan by edet19892015(m): 2:19am On Feb 14, 2021
Dear Mrs Eno Ekong,

Retirement is an exciting phase of life, after you have worked hard to build your career, and would now sit back and appreciate how far you have come.

Not only is it a time for reflection, but also a time for you to look forward to spending good time with people you care about, and doing things you love to do.

I was most pleased to have worked with you at Akwa Ibom State NYSC camp, during the 2017 Batch 'B' Orientation Course as a Guiness Brand Ambassador, when Guiness Nigeria sponsored some of the camp activities; and since then, I've been learning so much from your online English lessons on WhatsApp and Facebook. I'm no longer afraid to commit grammatical errors because I know you will never be tired of correcting me.

I hope that your retirement opens new avenues for an enthusiastic, lively, loving, strong, committed and disciplined person like you.

You are only retired, Ma, but I know you are not tired. As such, retirement is not the end of the journey but the beginning of a beautiful new voyage for you. God saw you through that whole phase and is still there for you.

Hearty congratulations, Mummy! When I retire, I would love to be just like you: happy, strong, promising and amazing!

Mr Edet Edem Akpan
Guiness Brand Ambassador.

Culture / Edet Edem Akpan Eulogize Attah Of Igala Idakwo Michael Ameh Oboni Ii by edet19892015(m): 1:07pm On Nov 09, 2020
EULOGY TO ATTAH IGALA

I feel the immense pain that the unfortunate death of the Late Idakwo Michael Ameh Oboni has caused his wife, children, grandchildren and the entire Kingdom of Igala in particular and Kogi State in general, who must be grieving at the demise of the Attah.

Attah was, undoubtedly, a very eminent citizen and his death will be felt not only by his people but indeed, the entire nation. We can, nevertheless, be consoled from knowing that Attah Michael has gone to rest in the bosom of his Maker and left behind him a good name and worthy legacy.

As a Corps Member serving in idah I have been inspired, over the months, by Attah's most impressive career as a tested manager of men and resources, a proprietor of repute, and an industrialist of distinction.
His attainments, over the years, surely culminated in his coronation as the Attah Igala since Wednesday March 6th, 2013.

He was the first Attah in history to stay with one wife. In his words, “I have chosen to stay with one wife because one wife is even too many. I am the first Attah in history to stay with one wife and I am comfortable with that,” quoted from PUNCH August 26, 2017 edition.

The late Attah was a patriotic and highly respected traditional ruler who had immeasurable love for his people and great faith in a united Kogi State. I remember his firmness in support of Governor Yahaya Bello administration, His staunch support would always be remembered. He, accordingly, stood out as a voice of honesty and forthrightness in Traditional Affairs. He was at the same time a fervent promoter of mutual tolerance and understanding not only among the diverse people who lived in his kingdom but also across Kogi State.

The late Attah followed the tradition of his great predecessors. He was a great traditional leader, urbane and respected by his subjects. His influence transcended the Kingdom of Igala and, indeed, Kogi State. He stood shoulder-to-shoulder with traditional rulers across Nigeria and beyond the shore of Nigeria and was very well respected among his counterparts from the West, East, North and South. He was a unifying force not just in Igala but in the whole of the North Central zone and beyond.

Attah Michael Ameh journey to meet his ancestors means an irreplaceable loss to his family, his people, Kogi State and, indeed, Nigeria.
Attah may no longer be with us but his legacy endures. He had a vision for his Kingdom and pursued it with every resource available to him. We must not let that vision for the greatness of Igala Land depart with him. He was very concerned about the security and welfare of Corps members in Idah Local Government Area and others.

As we bid farewell to this great Nigerian, let us rededicate ourselves to the values he cherished and lived by such as love of the country and community as well as the readiness to help the less fortunate at all times.

I extend heartfelt condolences on the final transition of Idakwo Michael Ameh Oboni and pray that the Almighty God grant you all the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
May the soul of the dear monarch rest in perfect peace.

FAREWELL MESSAGE FROM EX CORPS MEMBER AND IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT OF CTE CDS GROUP IDAH KOGI STATE.

Protocol,

Everything that has a beginning often has an end, on Thursday 15th of October 2020 mark the victorious end to my service to our beloved country Nigeria and also my tenure ends as the President of Culture, Leisure and Tourism Education Community Development Service Group Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State.

I am very grateful to God Almighty, who has seen me through out this period, from camp to my local government area of primary assignment, may His name be highly exalted,
I also appreciate my family and friends for their care, love and support. Thank you so very much.

As a graduate of sociology and anthropology the only CDS group suitable for me is CTE that was why I fought for it, when I was assigned to Anti-Drugs CDS group, I thank our then CLO and member of CTE Mr. Damilare for yielding to my request and reassigned me to CTE CDS, my joy knows no bounds. I deeply appreciate the sweet unionism I enjoyed from you from the first day to the last day.

I will not fail to appreciate our past presidents Mr. Segun Amure and Mr. James Oreye for their resilience efforts in making sure our CDS group moves. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to led this great CDS group.

With joy and gratitude I appreciate Corps member Blessing Nkereuwem my vice president she has been my backbone from the first day to the last day, she is so good and so innovative,
God will bless you and lead you to higher places. If I want to pour encomium on you this space will not contain, I want you to know that I truly appreciate your support. Thank you.

The pandemic has really interrupted my agenda for our CDS group which I believe strongly that the posterity of our CDS group will accomplish them. and in no particular order our posterity should make sure that they organize the following: Corper's cultural day, corper's walk out, Visit to the Attah's palace, CTE signboard, CTE hangout, CTE interschool debate and sensitization.

To God be the glory, I have been able to secure two new benches, flex banner and chain with padlock for our CDS group. It is worth of note that I have been able to make our LGI and acting ZI to keep CTE CDS group because he wanted to collapse all the CDS groups to four since corps members are not much, he told me because of you, I will retain Culture, Leisure and Tourism Education CDS group.

I will like to appreciate Mr. Dansala and Finidi for their last minute support thank you very much and to everyone who supported me in one way or the other.

Let me crave your indulgent, on the POP day, I hands our CDS group over to Corps member Charles Inah with the state code KG/20A/0170, it would have been my vice president but CLO informed me that since 2019 batch C stream 2 are passing out on the 29th of October 2020 that it is pertinent to hand over to 2020 Batch A stream 1. To our new president thank you for presenting the award to me please do well to address us soon, we are here to back you up and put you through. Thank you!

In conclusion, my heart is over whelm with joy because I was privilege to serve my beloved country Nigeria and may the good God grant us all our hearts desires and we will be gainfully employed according to our diverse fields. Amen.

NYSC gave me a second nationality, I am happy to tell you that I am Igala.
I'm so excited to identify myself with the people of Igala, Idah is my home.
This year birthday I dedicate it to the good people of Igala in kogi State. I love the culture, language, hospitality and good people of Igala.

Brief History Of Igala Land:
According to Wikipedia, The Igala are an ethnic group of Nigeria. Their homeland, the former Igala Kingdom, is an approximately triangular area of about 14,000 km2 in the angle formed by the Benue and Niger rivers. The area was formerly the Igala Division of Kabba province, and is now part of Kogi State. The following are the nine local government areas that made up igala kingdom there are: Idah, Ibaji, Ankpa, Igalamela/Odulo, Bassa, Ofu, Dekina, Omala and Olamaboro. The capital of the kingdom is Idah local government area in Kogi state. And the paramount ruler or the king of Igala is the Attah. Ojo is the supreme God of Igala people.

Igala people are so loving, friendly and accommodative little wonder I learn the language so fast; Olodudu means Good morning.
Oruka means Good Afternoon.
Olanne means Good Evening
Abele means How are you.
Agba/Nago means thank you.
Olukolo means well done.

My Igala name is Onuku-Ojo meaning God's Friend.
My other name is Onuku-Igala meaning friend of Igala.

Happy Birthday VIP Corps Member
Happy Birthday CDS President
Happy Birthday Confluence Corps Member
Happy Birthday Igala Corps Member
Happy Birthday Idah Corps Member
Happy Birthday Onuku-Ojo
Happy Birthday Onuku-Igala.

Family / Edet Edem Akpan I Came I Saw And I Conquer by edet19892015(m): 5:01am On Oct 08, 2019
I Came

Of a million semen I was the only semen that swim faster to fertilised the egg, hence my formation, I won even when I didn't have brain, eyes, hands and legs. From a foetus to a baby at exactly nine months I came into this world, according to my birth certificate duly signed by my dad and mom it was today September 29th in the early 90's

I Saw

Having been socialised by my family as the first agent of socialisation, I sojourn this world without breaking the norms, values and custom. I have seen the four walls of primary and secondary schools, in the quest for more wisdom and knowledge I have also seen the four walls of tertiary education.
As an hardworking and resourceful person I have seen the bureaucracy and I am a bureaucrat.
I have seen love, feel love and beloved, I have seen the good, the bad, the beautiful and the ugly.

I Conquer

Yes I conquer all because I am alive to celebrate this great day, the day of my birth, I'm not better than those who were born the same time, day and year with me but they have pass away, it is the love and mercy of God that has keep me going.
I conquer, I conquer and I will keep conquering because this is my season a time to shine again and again and again.

Happy Anniversary Of My Birth! 29/09/2019
