Please nairalanders, I am interested in travelling overseas for a postgraduate course but most of the schools I have applied to, are demanding for a test which shows my fluency in English language.

Hence I am at a crossroad as I don't know which exam to apply for, I want to know the differences and advantages between GRE, IELTS, TOEFL etc

For American schools, go for Toefl, for European schools, go for Ielts, for better chance of getting funded in an American or Canadian schools, take the gre with any of the two mentioned english proficiency test.

The gre is not an english proficiency test, it is verbal and quantitative test.
