a couple of Napoli games against Chievo and Bologna right? Great teams, because I watched him against Juventus this season, he was solid but far far from a beast. See, the simple truth is that Omeruo is just as talented as Puyol and plays almost exactly like him, no nonsense guy. If Omeruo had a white skin, he would have been the first name on the chelsea team sheet, aint nobody who can tell me that Luiz and calamitous Cahill are better than him
Well he has had a few average performances this season, but last season, he was at a level that Omeruo could dream us.
Omeruo is good but let's us overhype him now. He has regressed since 13/14. I'm glad he's picking up, but he's too inconsistent and hasn't really performed at a world class level before.

i wasn't referring to the committed ones like balogun, ikeme, iwobi etc when i made that comment. i meant the other ones like sidney sam, nedum onuoha etc who once they know nigeria is interested in them will be doing shakara. instead of giving a straight yes or no will be giving you excuses that they are not ready blah blah blah but if the other country should call they will be over ready. when they are now completely ignored you will now start hearing rubbish like ''i always felt nigerian'' mcthhwww
Sidney Sam pissed me off because he had lead Keshi to believe he was interested in playing for us. After he got invited by Germany, he started saying rubbish about never considering Nigeria.

It may shock you to know that Omeruo is statistically better than Koulibaly. Am surprised to find this out...
Infact apart from Ariel duels won which koulibaly wins hands down because of his height advantage. Every other defensive action, Omeruo actually wins.
They both average 2.0 tackles per game, but interceptions, clearances, blocks Omeruo aces Koulibaly hands down. Interestingly, Omeruo have played 4 games fewer hand Koulibaly..
Honestly, if Omeruo continues with this form, he could get a recall by Chelsea. Koulibaly is not £40m better than Omeruo.
Bro, forget stats, Koulibaly is a beast!!!. I watched a couple of Napoli games last season and damn that guy is insane. Omeruo has potential, but he's not yet on Koulibalys' level.

Don't know why anyone would say City converting Nacho to a 9 is a bad thing. Nacho's strongest asset is his finishing. He has a good final pass, but he is a much better finisher. His case is a bit similar to that of RVP. Wenger once said RVP was "Bergkamp with goals". Rvp was eventually converted to a striker in a 4-3-3/4-5-1 and thrived in it. People initially questioned Wenger's decision at first, but fact was Cesc/Arshavin/Nasri/Hleb were all better number 10s than RVP at that time.
Same applies to Nacho...as a Number 10/SS, it'd have been MUCH difficult for him to get into the team than as a 9. As a 9, he has only Aguero as a real threat. As a number 10, he has Silva, KDB, Nasri even Yaya to contend with.
If anything, city has done us a HUGE favor by making him a 9 as he's one of the best finishers we've had in a while and we haven't had a "creative forward" like him play in the NT for a while.

Those of you bashing south american players, the problem with African players is attitude. Being a good footballer involves more than talent but hardwork and a good head. Christiano Ronaldo was raw when he joined MU from Sporting. He developed into the CR7 we know today thanks to his hardwork and attitude under SAF.

Africans have a mentality that hinders development. We settle for little and don't have that knack to want to be the best. Once an African player can earn enough to buy a Lamborghini, they stop dreaming, stop seeing the need to develop further. Maybe it's because of poverty in the region, I don't know.

The South Americans have a more positive attitude so big clubs will always fancy them more than Africans because what they look at is not just the talent but the potential to become greater than where talent alone can take u
Louis Van Gaal also said the same thing. Yaya Toure as well. I'd say 60 - 70 percent.

You can say not Nacho but at least you agree no elite striker at Arsenal. Wonder why you guys drag a simple point. Nacho's stats scream elite.
Of course arsenal don't have elite strikers. But after those elites strikers, Giroud is in the next tier. First choice in the French NT. Nacho continues like this till the end of the season, then I can comfortably pick him over any arsenal striker. Not at this moment.

I termed Nacho as "Aguero's understudy" a while back... smiley

So get in line... I don't talk football with sentimental emotions but facts and "actualities"....

And plsss... Mikel is still boss. So wetin concern mikel with Nacho now?? Are you just pained someone is standing up to uphold the facts that we actually have "top class talents" that can hold their own and even trump the big names in the clubs you all support??

It is the loyalty most of you on this forum have to foreign clubs that prevents you from actually seeing the truth.
Why would I be "pained"?? I'm talking about Mikel because he was also hyped up like this as "Okocha heir" and what not. Even though he has gone on to be successful, many are disappointed he didn't end up being on messi level or the best number 10 in the world like they expected.
Nacho is talented, we all know that. However he has had only one full season. It is too early to hype him up as you guys are. That is a fact.

Perez's achievement last season more admirable??

Huh?? We talking Nacho whose goal ratio even trumped Ronaldo's, Lewandowski's and Messi's as at April/May earlier this year as the 2015/16 season was winding down.

Only Suarez's edged his eventually as the season ended.

And you talk of Perez's as admirable??

Nacho's goal ratio was reported to be the best in the HISTORY OF THE EPL AND YOU DON'T CLASSIFY IT AS "ADMIRABLE"??

Okay... You're right... Perez's was admirable... While Nacho's was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!! AND CRAZYYYYYY!!!! wink
In a man city teamhuh Let's see Nacho go make Perez number in a relegation threatened team like depor in a full season. What is this ridiculous hype around this guy? He has gotten to the level he is now because he hasn't been hyped as sterling, Rashford, etc I pray the English media don't start hyping him up like NL.

Not true. Sanchez will play wide and Nacho up front. Arsene Wenger did not play Sanchez up front all these years. He even preferred Yaya Sam Loco and Danny Welbeck. It is just this season.
Wenger bought Alexis as a 9. He saw him as a Suarez/Aguero. Granted it didn't work out too well at first (Alexis hardly played there), but we have tried it this season and it is working perfectly. I'm sorry only elite strikers like Aguero, Suarez, Lewandowski, etc would make Wenger put Alexis back at lw not Iheanacho(at least not yet)

So just live with it!!!

Nacho is worth every "hype".... Whether you buy it or not.... Especially when the "hype" is actually true and proven facts-wise.
What is crazy about Nacho's stat...see unnecessary hyping has started. You guys did the same with Mikel. Nacho has done absolutely nothing to prove he can walk in to the first 11 of a big team. He isn't getting into Tottenham, manure, Liverpool or Arsenal first 11. He is very talented, nobody is denying it. But putting Nacho over Alexis as a 9 is crazy. Abegi. Next you'll start saying he's better than Aguero.

You don't talk football like that my friend....

Nolito is Nolito. Alexis is Alexis.... Both can play from the wings as well as centrally. Pep chose Nacho over Nolito to lead the lines in the manchester derby. Meaning he can repeat same if he has an Alexis.

It will be a Alexis-Nacho-Sterling upfront... Simple as that (in the absence of Aguero). smiley

Same as we had Nolito-Nacho-Sterling... wink
What a lame excuse. Alexis is a superior version to Nolito. Don't even try and twist words. If pep had Alexis, he'd tried him out as a 9 before Nacho. Fact.

LWKM. Lucas Perez is 28 and he can not walk into Arsenal's starting line-up. TheSuperNerd, see me see trouble. I never looked at his age. I thought he was some Marshall, Rashford something that Wenger wanted to mould.
Doesn't matter if he can't walk into the team because neither can Nacho. Perez achievement last season is much more admirable than Nacho. Perez as at today is more rounded as a cf than Nacho.

Nacho deserves the spotlight even though he still has a long way to go.

Nacho at 19 (20 by Oct.3rd) is already "Golden" and can be "Even better".... That's the scary part.
No we are talking about this season since we're comparing him to alexis as a 9...if we're talking last season, then Nacho isn't even fit to polish Lucas Perez feet. Nacho hasn't even done anything to be considered ahead of Giroud much less Perez of last season.
This hype is almost as bad as when Rooney was called "roonaldo" or "the white pele". This is crazy.

Vargas. Show me where I said Alexis was chile's MAIN striker?? I said he plays as a striker for chile and that is true. He plays as either an ss alongside Vargas or as a lone striker if necessary. Wenger signed him as a cf.

A lot of people underrate Giroud because he's not a fancy player but I tell you what, that guy has been top scorer in the French league before he came to England. He infact guided a modest and an unfancied Montpellier to win the French league against more traditional teams like Psg, marseille, Lyon etc... At the national team level, he has scored 20+ goals in 57games and most of them as a substitute.
Truth is that Kelechi is good, no doubt but to say he is better than ever international striker at arsenal is not being realistic atall. Kelechi is just starting out, he may surpass the achievement of all the Arsenal strikers put together including Henry. But he has not done that yet. This is just his second year as a pro.
We should be careful how we hype him, otherwise, he may never fulfil his potential because he may start thinking he has arrived which may be his downfall. Let's not fall into the hype-machine that is the English media and allow our players grow quietly.
Exactly!! Nacho has only played a full season. He isn't getting in the first 11 over Alexis as a CF. Not possible. He isn't that good. Not just yet.

Sanchez has played as a striker for chile alot of times. Goldfish80 posted a pic of chile's formation vs Brazil at the world cup. Infact he has been playing as a striker from river plate to udinese to barca and arsenal. Wenger initially bought him to be our Suarez but it wasn't working out. He can do a job as a striker either in a 2 or as a lone striker.
