forgiveness:
Joel Asoro and Joshua Maja should be invited to the National team with immediate effect.
Both talented but too young. Besides, Asoro has already played for the Swedish u21. It'll be very difficult to get him to play for us.

Dropping players is not the issue here bit the manner he does that.
You don't avoid talking to someone for a whole year because you want to drop him. Like in Eto's case he talked to him 3 times throughout the season. In one of those three times, he wanted to tell Eto how to move, he rightly told him to fvck off!
Manzukich was the top scorer and champions league winner before he joined, he abruptly stopped talking to him and went out of his way to ensure he does not end the season as the top scorer. You can't be a good manager of men and avoid talking to your wards for whatever reason.

I used to see you as an intelligent guy but am very surprised you're still running with this your line of argument all week. Very shocking.
What is wrong in Pep telling eto how to improve his movement as a striker?? I agree with you to a certain extent that Pep isn't the best man manager around, but that'll come as he gets older. He's still a young coach.
Eto was just being daft imo.

the only player that we were not trying to buy before the league began was mustafi and that is because it was covered in Wenger's mind till the injuries happened
Even Mustafi we were interested in him before the injuries. Gazidis said we were looking to bring in a defender days before Gabriel got injured. Gabriel's injury sped up plans. We would've probably signed mustafi on deadline day.

Were we planning on signing them before the season begins? NO.

The striker and defensive problems have been on for years now. Those deals could have been completed much much earlier. But we waited to test the same depleted squad only to drop points again.

You think Wenger would sign if he'd taken those maximum points?
So according to you, since barca didn't get Vietto, Luan, PEREZ, that makes Alcacer a panic buy?? What are you on about. Wenger had a shortlist and perez was on it and wasn't first choice. Vardy was and we failed to sign him. Last season everyone called him naive for not having a back up option incase he missed out on Benzema, now he does and you call it a "panic buy"??

Been reading this kinda stuff every season na.

None of the links stated explicitly that we were working on getting either Perez or Mustafi. Not even rumours. It could be the negotiations were held in secret but in this modern age of information technology, some people would have definitely leaked this kind of info to the press long ago.

All still points to the same panic button for those players except Granit. grin

Tired of this argument sef. The most important thing is that we bought top quality at a good bargain. Let's see how we build from here.

BTW how soon will Gabriel be back in the team?
Those links show wenger was in for a striker and a defender. That was what you asked for. Perez has said we contacted him back in July, you want me to bring links linking him with us as early as January??

Gabriel should be back in 2 months.

You honestly think Wenger would sign Perez if we won the first 3 games?

Only xhaka wasn't a panic buy. Also scouted since January and signed as soon as last season ended purely to replace Rosicky and Arteta
Wenger had said repeatedly he was going to sign a CF. Perez is not a panic buy. He himself said he was contacted as early as July. Gazidis also mentioned we were in for a defender before the American tour.
Don't like Wenger, but it's ridiculous to say all the transfers bar Xhaka were a panic buy. This is the same guy who refused to buy a striker because he didn't feel there was anyone better than he had.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by edi287: 2:54am On Sep 02, 2016
Perez was not a panic buy. We had been scouting him since January. The only thing close to a panic buy was mustafi because we had initially refused to go pass 26m and chose to chance other targets(Manolas, Evans, Mussachio, Toprak) and ended up paying more than we should have. This of course was because we couldn't get the big name striker we were after so we decided to activate Perez buy out clause and spend the rest on a CB.

Manasseh Ishiaku - Scored against Madrid I think and had good stints at Brugge and Duisburg. Vogts had a hard on for him and Toto Tamil then.
Eromoigbe : played for the Golden Eaglets and SE.Accused of using a different name to play in age grade competition.
Aranka: don't know much about him. Just remember everyone at home mentioning his name whenever he had the ball.
Issac Okronkwo: Flopped at Wolves. Solid for SE
Christian Obodo: aka "bundle of skills".

Bright Nigerian home League talents I knew in 2000 Era were
,

Kelechi Osunwa. Started at Bright Stars Academy in Port-Harcourt. I think he won the golden boot in the Nigerian League before he left the country. He played for Coach Musa Abdullahi when he coached Dolphins.

Kelechi signed 3 years with Al Ahly Shendi in Sudan in the last of 2014 he is the highest alltime topscorer of Sudan premier league with 137 goals.

Kelechi scored 104 goals in 167 games with almerikh .he is the time top scorer in 2012 with 40goals in 51 games.

Bright Stars Academy Office was in D-Line near where I stayed. I had friends who played for them. None of us doubted Kelechi Osunwa would lead the Super Eagles attack. It is a mystery how such a brilliant talent did not make it. A sharp finisher.

He hardly played in a league where he was not the top scorer. In Nigeria and in Sudan.
Wasn't he the one that got dropped from either the U17 or U20 sometime around 03 due to age cheating allegationshuh My elder bro was a huge fan of his back then.

Do a Rawlings on the NFF...it's the only way Nigerian football can move foward. These failed politicians will keep holding us back until something drastic is done.
Now no one is saying Siasia is an angel or anything, but imagine this fool talking about how we should've won gold and wanting to celebrate bronze like Siasia told the euro teams to hold back Nacho, iwobi, etc. How ridiculous!

Etebo out may be due to his injury. But how come Alex Iwobi and Azubuike are nt on that list?

Jamiu Alimi of Kano Pillars would on the list while Kenneth Omeruo is snubbed. Isaac Success and Imho Ezekiel left out while Victor Osimhen is in.

Nosa Igiebor that is on a declining curve is selected ahead of fast rising Alex Iwobi?

This people don come again o.
Iwobi is injured. Imoh Ezekiel made the team.

Dalung should not let such a thing repeat itself. There was chance to bail the Team Nigeria of the Olympics but I do not know what got into his head.

When the Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun bailed States last month, Dalung should have applied to her for support.

Leaving the National teams stranded was bad. Pinnick, reduce your ego. Learn to deal with Dalung's pride.
How about they both Bleep off?? I hate them with a burning passion. Never been as disillusioned with naija football...thanks to those two arrogant pricks.

Well good luck to him. Peak milk should know this guy doesn't take nonsense. Don't pay him on time and he'll walk. Don't even bother trying to force players on him. Peak milk should support him a 100 percent and let him do his own thing. I'm surprised he agreed to the assistants they've given him to work with.
