What I believe makes my country different is the fact that we had a lot of philosophies and ideologies in the country including our own script of writing. Ethiopia is home to some of the biggest ancient civilizations and it is a very diverse in many form and shapes. That makes it more interesting to visit.

Today March 02, marks the 127th victory of Adwa where Ethiopians celebrate their win against Italian armies. This day is seen as a victory to the entire black community and any of those targeted for colonialism. Emperor Menelik and Empress Tayitu along with brave patriots as Ras Alula Aba Nega and Dejazmach Balcha Safo fought the Italians with passion to protect Ethiopia from colonialism. This day was celebrated in Addis Ababa near the statue of Emperor Menelik but today, the Ethiopian government chose to occupy the area with armed forces to prevent the celebration of the victory.

Clothes or any objects with green, yellow and red colors of Ethiopian flag were not allowed to be sold. Sellers of these were held in jail while some were even beaten up. Addis Ababa youths that were capable of celebrating the day with the people were also arrested for no reason.


TV stations are warned to not mention the name of the Emperor and Empress for the victory

The victory was celebrated today by the wish of the government with military jets having the emperor and empress contribution excluded


The famous Ethiopian singer Tewodros Kassahun had condemned the act of the government and called for the people of Ethiopia to celebrate this day today thinking that Ethiopia is in a serious situation and the current generation has to understand a big responsibility is held by them to help the country survive.

The government wants to create a new country. They don't want Ethiopia. They think Ethiopian orthodox church is backward and it has to be destroyed once and for all. They want as to behave in Addis because there is an ongoing AU summit here. For eg. the city was filled with special forces with guns and snipers at sunday. Some churches were blocked to access and some orthodoxies were beaten up because they wanted to enter. We had to sit with smiley faces for a show but all of us are burning inside. Honestly I don't feel safe anymore to speak of all the nasty and inhuman acts they are making. It is beyond what you can take. It's embarrassing kazi, after all I had to pass through to speak up and nairaland had to bl ock me.

Shashemene St. Michael church has been taken over

The Ethiopian Orthodox tewahdo church is in danger. Government forces are working to split the church and not a single foreign media seems to care. Except Orthodox medias world wide. Following the attack, the church announced three days to wear full black and fast. But governmental institutions warned for workers dressing or they will face consequences. Some got arrested.

The church has called out for people to gather in Addis Ababa's biggest square in sunday but the government named it 'attempted coup d'etat'. The church still believe it is an honour to be martyrs and believers should be one.

Internet is now closed except VPN and police forces has been taking over some of the churches since starting of the week.

Ethiopian muslim brothers and sisters are also condemning since the church is a big identity to the country and what has been happening in here was seen very inhuman. It is a joke to say that USA didn't know, Europe didn't know. It was James Bruce of England who came here and looted books in Lalibela. It was them all over the place to explore our church and loot us. It was the Germans who came and took most of our Ge'ez heritages. It is them also taking our Ge'ez language in their universities at higher level. It is a joke to say they don't know. It was their own plans being made with the hands of Ethiopians themselves. This is a footage of an attack in St. Michael Ethiopian Orthodox tewhado church in Shashemene city by unknown forces that has been carried with tracks. These people entered with the help of the police forces.

This priest for example is named Abune Estifanos, He has been forced to leave his city and church and brought back to addis ababa with unknown forces. He has been building the St. Mary church in Jimma city being accountable to the people. At the day where the church starts service, he was forced to leave by unknown forces and the church had to open by other priests. The people of Jimma condemned and went home saying they don't want any other but only their accountable father on that day
