Not only you, these people are seen as strangers in Addis. They make the smallest population and the media itself don't give them enough coverage. We have many types in here. Some are Arab looking, some are indian looking, some West African and then we also have these.

Ethiopia is a very diverse country where you also experience one of the biggest height and the lowest in the world.

Mid-1955 - British allowed Africans - like one every province to join the parliament -that consisted of mostly Whites and Asians.

1962 - We got a British Lancaster negotiated constitution and we were now ready for self-rule. Africans were now allowed to belong parties and more seats created - and we got like democracy - so blacks dominated the parliament - but Kenyatta was in prison.KANU who had won the majority vote refused to form gov until Kenyatta was released - the White settlers and KADU formed the gov - but still under the British Governor.

In 1963 - Kenyatta was released - and the election held. KANU won - and British on day like this - allowed Jomo Kenyatta to become Prime Minister - and recalled their Governor. But the British flag was still flying and kenya was now self-governing colony. We got Madaraka...but not Independence.

In 1963 - Dec - Kenya flag, national anthem and new constitution (Republican as opposed British parliamentary) was unveiled - British flag was brought down- and we became independent.

There are many self-governing British colonies as we speak - British Virgin Islands; Cayman Islands; Falkland Islands; Gibraltar; Montserrat; Pitcairn, Henderson, Ducie and Oeno Islands;

They have internal self-rule but not independence.

Not exactly accurate. Kenya attained self-rule in 1963 June 1st - this we call Madaraka. A year and half later - in 1964 Dec - we became a republic (Jamhuru).Kenya in 1963 was still largely under the old British constitution - and Jomo Kenyatta was the prime minister - in 1964 - Kenya became a republic with Jomo Kenyatta as president under new constitution.

Okay seem 1963 - kenya dec - kenya became independence (sovereignty) - and 1964 - joined commonwealth

The hebrew one has a lot of letters which help allow us to read it in the right accent. But we also use roman because it is tiresome clicking all the amharic (herbew like) letter on our mobile keyboard.
