KvnqJothan:
An Ethiopian year is comprised of 13 months, and is seven years behind the Gregorian calendar.

Truth is, Ethiopians celebrated the new millennium on September 11, 2007; this is because the Ethiopians continued with the same calendar that the Roman church amended in 525 AD unlike the rest of the world.

Should we tell them about 2020 or should we let them find out themselves?

https://mobile.twitter.com/HistoryVille/status/1304666058314395648

Ours is not julius calendar nor gregorian. There is a certain calculation made for our new year. I wish i could explain but it takes a long time.

A year consists of 365 with quarter days not just 365. All months of Ethiopia has 30 days except the last month (ጷግሜ) which is 5 days and it becomes 6 every four years due to the collection of the quarter. On september 11 (our new year) a flower called adey abeba grows in Ethiopia and it is endemic. Not found anywhere out of Ethiopia.

The Gregorian calendar you chose to follow is named for gods. All are named for gods not God. All our months are related to seasons of Ethiopia.

As African, we undermine ourselves and everytime an African isolates and make their own way, it is thought as dumb. As an Ethiopian I know my ancestors are too smart and blessed and we lost it all when we droped what they left us. Look back to your culture and study it guys. Africa is the origin of great things. And please share, there is so much to learn from eachother.

I KNEW IT!? That's why THEY hate you more than Kenyans or other Africans. That ANCIENT Sabean script proves it. The hatred is simply historical memory.

Even in yemen there is a city still named in Ethiopian language. We have also ruled Egypt. Ancient Ethiopians have left finger prints everywhere.

OMFG,ednited,do you know anything about this?

https://www.thetruthseeker.co.uk/?p=213227

I think it relates to pre Islamic Habesha rule of the Saudi peninsula. I do know the Sabeans who ruled 3000 years ago and the Jewish successor Himyarites who ruled Yemen 2000 years ago were basically a mix of Oromos and Habesha. Are you familiar with the theory? Imo,thats why the Saudis have special hatred for Ethiopians.
Here's Sabean script experts say resembles Ge'ez. Is there a resemblance?

We are actually celebrating our New Year's eve today, tomorrow is our new year. So sad I had to see these Ethiopians having such a hard time in this holiday. Just so sad

Habeshas are treated very horribly in Arab states. Not only in Arab states but also in Israel. Yes Ethiopians use to rule Saudi but I don't think the condition is related to the past, it only has to do with our poorness.

There is kind of a resemblance. My signature is Ge'ez script down below

When do you guys plan to release our journalist? grin He won the case and the govt refused to release him. He was only there in solidarity with the Ormas, whom we plan to free from Abyssynian oppression very soon grin

SUMMARY
On August 5, Ethiopia's Federal First Instance Court ordered release of the defendant on 3,000 birr ($85) bail after prosecutors failed to provide concrete evidence for his case.

However, Ethiopian Police have ignored the order, raising questions over the court's supremacy.

Kenya has, once again, demanded the “urgent release” of Yassin Juma, a journalist arrested in Ethiopia last month.

An Ethiopian court had ordered him freed on bail but authorities are yet to do so.

In a letter to the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry, Kenya termed the continued detention of Mr Juma, who contracted Covid-19 in prison last week, as a violation of his rights to justice.

The letter seen by the Nation says Ethiopian authorities should have freed Mr Juma, real name Collins Juma Osemo, on August 5 as ordered by a court after he deposited bail of $85 as directed.

“The Ministry is deeply concerned that despite the decision of the court, Mr Osemo is still in police custody,” it says in the letter dated August 12.

“The continued detention of this Kenyan national despite the decision of the court and payment of bail is highly regrettable and has caused immense anguish and anxiety to him, his family, the people and the government of the Republic of Kenya.”

Hati is a good friend. He won't do that trust me grin

About your Kenyan case, you gotta give up. Sorry for that but the custody and all is going to take long. Any case related to Oromo issue in Ethiopia is critical and it will never be easy.

Good one you guys are still keen on keeping 'the African Bashing' thread alive with this thread.

I have been a taciturn follower of the closed thread from page one (you can imagine). Rarely comments but I must say I really enjoyed you guys and learnt great and wonderful things about the continent from that thread.

With all the lies and facts, fights and quarrels, friendship and settlements, and perpetual craziness (from the Suffering and Smiling guy) and whatnot.

I have loved contributions from ednited (even with her first moniker ednite, you didn't later tell us anything about your studies again) to her Ethiopian brother, to the Algerian guy, to the Kenyans, the Ghanaians, the never agreeing south Africans (with the Mzazi queen herself) until recently that we have Austine1212, the Tanzanians, and to the receiving end Nigeria. Who guys have been amazing and fun to be with all these years, I just hope and wish you guys will keep this thread more mature this time around.

Dalu!

Thank you! grin grin

What studies tho? Well, I am an Architect.

Well our govt 'SAYED' that it was a young man who did it under the order of some people. This young man said his families could've been in danger if he hadn't made that. But he asked in court to be given the permission to commit suicide. They had to tie his hands to prevent him from suicide.

Being a Tigre it seems he made the Amhara suffer:

Not all Tigre people are bad. Infact, it is just few of them who are acting this way (Only in governance).

Tigre people are real Ethiopians

Amhara people are real Ethiopians

Oromo prople are real Ethiopians

Those we keep watching on tv are making it harder for us. The people of Ethiopia had no conflict. They created it for their own good. In the name of God, this should stop! The Tigray people of Ethiopia are now being forced to beat Amharas. Some Oromos are being convinced to beat and kill Amharas. If you are Orthodox regardless of your tribe, you might get beaten up.If you keep carrying the green, yellow and red flag of Ethiopia, you might get beaten up. I hope God has a reason to show us all this. Our priests are still saying there is so much to see. If i could change this by crying a river, I would. Pray for Ethiopia, I swear.

Ednited, what can you tell us about Tedros Ghebreyesus of the WHO? Ofc,there must be a reason why the Global Elites made him director, and going by their playbook there is very likely truth in these allegations.
Being a Tigre it seems he made the Amhara suffer:

Unsurprisingly he's supposedly a dee smoker,though I can't confirm that's actually him.

What do you know of any of this, ednited?

I feel really sad saying this on our fasting. I am too tired of many Ethiopians causing harm everywhere and talking about it.

I remember once, one of my friend telling me that WHO was working to put Tewodros in the current place he is in inorder to help ruin the world supporting for the creation of this pandemic and other problems. He told me before all this actually happened.

Yes, Tewodros was right there when Amharas were oppresed. He was right there when our country was robbed. He was right there when out National ships got sold. He was right there when any kind of attack happend in Ethiopia. And he was shut. They wanted to use excuse like

'He is Ethiopian/African, support him! Support him!'

He can become the president of the world. . .I don't care. If he is here to ruin us. I AM OUT

Let me ask you this: If a Khoi San (google if necessary) has a child with a Chinese, does the resulting off spring look “more Chinese”? How can they look “more Chinese” when the Chinese originated from the Khoi San and the “more Chinese” look is actually a Khoi San look/phenotype?

Can a parent resemble a child? Not possible. But a child can definitely resemble a parent. Please give parent populations their dues and do not come with this revisionist crap.

I don't beleive in any crap those people try to tell us.

A child will resemble a parent, my question here is how one DNA seems to be more powerful than the other? It all originated in Africa. But the one type still dominates, all am asking.

Don't be rude.
