Good Day DPR shortlisted Applicants,

Yesterday, the DPR conducted aptitude test in Jabi, Abuja. From a reliable source, who was shortlisted too and took part, he, " they said should be up to 50 or more than 50 applicants that wrote the test." The aptitude test was for OND holders who applied last year manually via their office in Jabi, Abuja.

The source said the questions were 50 and from Current Affairs, Mathematics, English and Chemistry. The source didn't have a science background, studied a business course. So, expect questions from the above listed.

According to the source, some of the questions he told are (just for current affairs only):

1) When was the last America's election conducted (November 8, 2016)
2) Who was the senator that contested the senate presidency with Sen. Bukola Saraki ( Sen. Lawal Admed)
3) Abdulmunin Jubrin was suspended in how many legislative days (180)
4) Who said he will tear his diplomatic America's visa if Donald Trump win the election? (Prof. Sole Soyinka).

These are all I could recall.

Thanks to God I was shortlisted for the DPR test on 26th, Abuja center.

I believe this will be a useful information for the DPR shortlisted applicants.

DPR 2016 Aptitude Test Past Questions
Department of Petroleum Resources, Dpr, computer based aptitude test for 2017 recruitment exercise commences on Monday 24th July. As usual, invited applicants are looking for the Dpr past questions and answers as well as searching for the format of the examination.

We have decided to post samples of the past assessment test questions from previously conducted Department of Petroleum Resources recruitment exercise.

Note that the Dpr questions can come from physics, mechanical engineering, further maths, geology, economics, account, history, chemistry, general knowledge etc. Here is a sample of the Dpr aptitude test invitation email / sms for shortlisted candidates.

I studied Mechanical Engineering and from Edo State. I applied for the Mechanical Engineer- Graduate Trainee.

This thread is created to know the number of Mechanical Engineers for B.Eng and HND holders who were shortlisted for the DPR aptitude test.

Here, you have to state your state and your class of degree either B.Eng or HND. Pls we don't need your name for security reason. Just your state and class of degree.

Don't write the name of your institution here. We want to know the number of Mechanical Engineers who were shortlisted. I believe FG character will play out here.

If they are going to work with FG character and they need five applicants in each state, you have to prepare well. I believe merit will work. Man knows man will also count.

As for me I rely on God.

This is negative Environmental Impact due to lack of drainage system.

Pls the PhD guy that won scholarship in Australia help me with information on how I get a scholarship for my B.Eng.

How should I go about it? I studied Mechanical Engineering, doing my B.Eng abroad will help me in the future to become a professional engineer. Pls help me out though I am working with an Automobile Company. I was shortlisted for the DPR.

My advice to you, pls go for the PhD. Personal experience, my uncle's friend working in one of the FG parastatals under the ministry of education who studied Architecture was sent to Australia for his Masters degree programme. FG paid for his tuition fee and everything. After the masters degree, he discovered that there are better opportunities and offers for architects in Australia. He tendered his resignation letter via mails and paid everything back to them. Today, he has taken his family to Australia... There are better opportunities in Australia than DPR . As a PhD holder you will earn well and coming back to Nigeria in the future, you can still find your way into the class room as a professor or PhD holder. Then you have invested a lot.

I can prove you wrong OK. This is my second multinational company. The first one was in the chemical industry at Opic Industrial Estate, Agbara and the second one in the automotive industry, Abuja.

I just started work this year with this new company not quite long. I have been working ok

So you need to play along with the recruiters Simple instructions.

What if the system decided to sieve out those that didn't choose graduate training?

Even If i don't have something doing, i will put that i am an entrepreneur and let my cv speak for the trainings and courses i have taken to remain relevant in industry.

I am just saying, follow simple instructions next time.

The requirements also stated the applicant must graduate between 2013 to 2016, I graduated in 2014. So my choice of "experienced" is not bad. They put it there so I chose it.

When you were filling the application on the website, there was a place they wrote "Current Employer" and " Last position held". That means she or he must not be idle. You can't leave that space blank because you don't have experience.

They want young graduates with something they can offer and you can get that from experience.

They don't want 5 yrs or 10 yrs experience but they still want that "little experience" of yours.

I am a young graduate. Just started work this year.

I have gone to entry level job interview, they bombarded me with practical questions. Asked me what can I offer?
Young man, telling them I am a young graduate without experience, you are on your own.

At least, you should have little experience and that is what they want not empty brain.

Shell recruitment, they asked us what is/are your achievement(s) in the past?

There was a place they wrote "Currently Employer" and "last position held". That place is not for formality ooo

That is to tell you they are there for business.

Sometimes, they will interview you base on your CV.

Even Shell graduate trainee jobs, they asked us what have we achieved? What are our past achievements?

If you tell them is graduate trainee because you have not worked before and you have no experience or achievement, you are on your own.

Both written and oral interviews, you must do them ooo.

Oga, that is just to deceive you. Graduate trainee job, they still need experience. After written interview, then the oral interview.

You have to tell them what can you do. Not just I am a graduate. Nobody will take that from you OK.
