Before we go into the technical ability, tactical intelligence and awareness, game management the first basic UNCOMPROMISING QUALITY is PACE.

In this regard Awaziem has zero pace, that alone TOTALLY DISQUALIFIES him for any Wing back or right back position.

He is absolutely not better than Aina.

A player who played a a very average season for Nantes in the French league, he couldn't generate any interest from any club, that in itself tells a story of mediocrity.

To confirm that mediocrity he ends up oh yes in the retirement league Turkey. After another anonymous season he then goes to the bargain basement of La Liga, Leganes ( most expensive player Omeruo) . He gets relegated.

His parent club said No no, not good enough and he end up in struggling Boavista.

Thats not progression but regression.

He is nowhere as good as Ebuehi or Aina.

Among the CB's he is simply just making up the numbers.
Pace alone doesn't cut it, Anybody that saw the Afcon will agree that Awaziem was solid playing as a Right Back and certainly played better than Aina in the tournament.

I'm not talking about his club football where he plays more as a CB but his National Team football and as a Right back

I was initially shocked that ANYBODY with eyes could make this deduction.

I looked up and saw it was you.

And l thought NO WONDER.
While the rest of the post is devoid of sense, Asides Ebuehi I'm honestly more comfortable with Awaziem playing in RB than any other player. I'd rather even take a Full back Awaziem than a Center back Awaziem

Nig vs Tun

1. Okoye showed glimpses of sharpness but needs to be tested with better teams
2. Our back 4 cannot stand the test of slightly above average teams but Balogun came tops of them even though they are all below average
3. Akpoguna is NOT qualified to be in the first team of our below average team so one can imagine how poor he is

4. Playing Semi as DM exposed the below average defence
5. Musa has had his run in the team he should be grounded
6. Alex does not have a commanding influence in the MF but can do damage
7. Chuks has reached his peak, very easily predictable and uneventful but can do better if he gets a better coach in his club
8. Simon showed a little flair on the flanks
9. Kel can be a very dangerous player but he's far from it now
10. Ejuke was all about showboating
Rhor has a whole lot to do for this team to make any meaningful impact in AFCON
You seem to forget that these friendlies were not played with the first team

Our back 4 have played against way better teams including Brazil and average teams like Algeria, Cameroon and even Tunisia when it mattered with good performances. Two bad games with majority of the players not likely to play on a normal day doesn't change that

Akpoguma played more minutes in a makeshift position, give him a break

If you're using freight companies like DHL you might pay some duties on the item but it won't be as much as Nipost will collect from you if you go with other shipping services, that's if they even collect

Chidera is 24 years old. Fact! I know him very well. Matthew Yakubu (we call him Siasia) is 25. We all grew up in the same area. Sabon Gari, Zaria. The same area with Oshaniwa, Isaac Promise
hmm interesting

The way family and friends of players pop up on this thread when we're talking about our homegrown player ages though. Coincidence or?

That our players are just ordinary.

Algeria was not at full strength too and we were not just beaten but TOTALLY outplayed and to be honest mediocre.

Onuachu has been blamed a lot by some here as the main culprit. But what is the point of having a man mountain striker and nobody could cross the ball with precision.

The midfield we had was totally inept although the perfomance was just very poor.
The word "Outplay" has certainly lost its meaning. Both teams were terrible but one was lucky enough to get a goal.

We were in no way "Outplayed"

Onuachu played well and any other striker of his stature and in his position wouldn't have done more than he did.

The truth is, there i no local bred Nigerian playing professional football in europe that didn't falsify his age

No not one

If you are born in Nigeria, you are already 3-4 years behind in development.. The things this borough guys learn at 10, we learn in the street at 15
We would rather continue living in denial than accept this truth but it is what it is

What's your point, I said Balogun is our best defender most of matches he played he was one of our best players. he was part of the famed Oyibo wall and proved himself yesterday too so what exactly is your point?

He has to perform in a tournament? He performed credibly well at the World cup and didn't play much at the Afcon, club form? He has an incredible record at his club 16 clean sheets in 24 matches so I don't know what your point is
At the bolded, Rohr will not bench one of his best players in a crucial tournament as the Afcon for Omeruo and using yesterday's game as a point because Ekong wasn't his best is just mischievous considering the fact that Ekong was our best defender in the Afcon and in the World cup. Ekong has been our best defender in the past 4 years and the armband he wears ahead of Balogun says a lot.

Ekong has been consistent for both club and country, his numbers are there for you to see. I cannot imagine Rohr keeping Ekong on the bench for any reason, It just doesn't happen in crucial matches unlike with balogun that is dispensable

Subzero047:
The argument is actually about who is good and who is not, Balogun is our best defender and he proved that Yesterday, bringing up tournaments in 2019 where he played only 2 games won't change that fact
nobody ever said balogun is not good, you only sidestep the point to avoid answering the question because you have no way to justify that Balogun is our best defender and that's just your opinion and nothing more.

Yes and Idowu played well and Victor Moses, even Musa should be no 1 on the team sheet

We know who is good and who is not, stop all this shalaye
The argument is not about who is good and who is not, It is about balogun and the tournament he played better than any of our center backs as you said

Football is not limited to tournaments, besides he played well at the World cup and played only 2 matches at the Afcon

Do you think we should discard all the observations we had yesterday match because it was not a tournament?
How you rate a National Team Football is definitely limited to performances in tournaments, Friendlies are used as preparation for these tournaments and I'm more about what tournament he showed that he was our best defender at.

Qualifiers tournament and their tournament proper are more significant than any friendly regardless of how we perform in these friendlies And Ekong also played well in the world cup and even gave us a crucial win to advance to the Quarter final in the Afcon

And he came back after one year hiatus and was still our best defender, tells you all you need to know

As long as balogun makes the first 11 he is fit abi Coach go start player wey no fit before? A fit Omeruo is more consistent and better than a fit Balogun there I said it.

My man anytime any day a fit Balogun is far better than Ekong.
This opinion before the match would have been ridiculous and to me and after the match it still is, Balogun just like Ekong has his days but that doesn't come as consistent as Ekong's. How many consistent defenders (Consistent for both club and country) have we had in our National team these past years? Even omeruo has been more consistent than balogun

Ebuehi
Sanusi
Balogun
Okoye
Chukwueze
Kalu

There was no midfield today and going forward we were piss poor

He wasn't. Benrhama fried his balls on several occasions. Dude couldn't make no incursions, the few times he was on the ball in the opposition half, he looked clueless and out of sorts hence misplacing passes and giving poor crosses. Ebuehi was poor today.
Can you give just one instant when he misplaced a pass? He was our best player by a mile

Iwobi was anything but phenomenal today, saying he was decent would be me being nice. He certainly didn't play his role today, zero creativity going forward

Super eagles is useless without Ndidi

Osimhen has no replace

Both Samuel kalu and Simon are trash

Onuachu should never be called again

iwobi won't perform without Ndidi

We still need Etebo

The oyinbo wall is back

Okoye is a good goalkeeper
Kalu and Moses aren't trash they had a bad game yes but trash no, Iwobi was trailing into the defensive third more than he should so you're right he needs Ndidi to perform

Okoye Second choice
Uzoho First choice

Ebuehi is back, Zaidu is a gem
