Our only real hope Silverware to augment our Fourth place trophy has gone down the drain. Chaiiiii !!!! |
You have to understand our people. We don't go to mueseums and zoos. In the west they build such things using millions of dollars to attract people to come and create commerce for the city. In nigeria people travel for these few reasonsYou honestly believe what you just wrote ? Grateful I'm not the one who paid for your education. |

All these apples and Oranges comparisons make me sick. Is it not a general occurrence in all businesses for the biggest achievers to be biggest spenders ? Wouldn't that apply to sports too? Any sports Entity that keeps churning out profits without success on the pitch is a monumental fail. Similarly, winning titles while incurring huge debts is a failed model. Success on the pitch and in the books would be the ideal situation. In this cenario Arsenal has been failing woefully. |
Without the dodgy penalty Bayern got today Augsburg may have won.The penalty demoralised them. |

The trip to Greece should come as a respite to the boys considering the turbulent week they have just come out from. |
It is finished, when in an analogy them use Volkswagen Beetle to symbolize Arsenal |
I don't know why Nigerian Mechanics love removing thermostats, and changing radiators. They did that to my AC condenser too, told me the one that came with the car was made for European climate that's why my AC wasn't chilling. After fixing the "big" condenser, it seemed to be cooling more till my compressor knocked that same evening I WAS MAD AS HELL I then visited a professional who said I had to buy a new compressor. He sent me back to my old AC guy to collect my old condenser before fixing it back and throwing the new one in the garbage. Moral of the story, put square pegs in square holes, I think ![]() |

Vice-President Namadi Sambo Saturday lost his Kaduna North Local Government Area to the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in the local government elections. Despite the political support and structures of the vice-president in Kaduna State and his local government area, his candidate, Bala Gogo, lost to Samaila Suleiman of the CPC. During the 2011 general election, Sambo also lost to the CPC in most of the elections in the state, including the presidential contest in which he was the running mate to President Goodluck Jonathan. He was only able to scrape a win in the governorship poll in the 2011 election when his former deputy, Patrick Yakowa retained his seat as governor. Sources in Kaduna which actively participated in the elections said the election confirmed that Sambo had a poor grip of the political terrain of Kaduna. The political balance in Kaduna now means that all state House of Assembly members, House of Representatives members and senators from Sambo’s local government are from the opposition CPC. The vice-president was not in Kaduna during the local council elections, as he was said to have been away in London.http://www.osundefender.org/?p=76279 |

dayokanu: So Arsenal chairman too don dey get heart attackin the spirit of Arsenalship, I will not openly express my feelings towards his condition. |
December 2, 2012 By ESPN staff Arsene Wenger will assess his Arsenal future at the end of the season following another disappointing result as the Gunners slipped to a 2-0 loss at home to Swansea City. • Blog: All eyes on Wenger Two late goals from Michu inflicted a fourth loss of the campaign on Arsenal, leaving the club in 10th place after 15 matches of the 2012-13 term. Booing from sections of the fans was audible at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, while a protest by the 'Black Scarf Movement' prior to the match reiterated growing discontent. Wenger was asked after the loss whether he has considered resigning from his post, which he has occupied since being appointed in 1996. The Frenchman is quoted in the Mail as saying: "Not at all. You make your assessment at the end of the season. I know we've got unrest everywhere. It's a good opportunity to stick together and show we're a strong club." When he was asked if it hurt that his side lie mid-table, Wenger said: 'Of course. But I'm not as worried about the places. We need to get the quality of our game back." Wenger has led Arsenal to three Premier League trophies and four FA Cup triumphs, but has been without silverware since 2005. Meanwhile, the club have announced that chairman Peter Hill-Wood is recovering from a heart attack following a bout of pneumonia. A statement on the club's website read: "Everyone at Arsenal football club sends their support and best wishes to chairman Peter Hill-W.... |
0lumide: I think somethings are necessary. Having a clean environment will prevent many diseases etc. Devloping the people is a loooog term commitment that may not be noticed until after a decade but the developing the environment is short term commitment which can be achieved in a short time span.Let's not mix up the issues, cleaning up the environment differs from beautifying it. Just because somewhere is pleasing to the eye doesn't make it clean, and vice versa. But when you use force to chase out people who you cannot provide with jobs, electricity, water and good roads, from their only source of livelihood, I think you're tempting fate |
Do you remember the origins of the Arab Spring? Can you recall what made that young man set himself ablaze? These so called executives should keep pushing their luck. Everybody wants development but it should be an all round affair. Develop the people and the environment they live in would develop naturally too. The beauty of China and UAE came about as a result of booming economies. What I'm saying is, beautiful environments can't cause economic growth, but good economies result in nice environments. |
This contract move has every element of resignation to the possibility of Thursday night football. No serious player will sign a deal with this sort of nonsensical clause in it. It's like trying to employ top professionals to your company and you tell them that part of their salary will be based on 'if the company makes profit', why would they sign for you when your competitors don't have any such stringent rules. We only managed to clinch a spot for UCL qualification last season and we're not better off this season (so far).
Thank goodness you at least see through the smoke. Why doesn't the contract stipulate an increase in wages or bonuses for winning the league or UCL? This is just to show you the kind of leeching vampires making decisions at the Club. I really don't have the energy anymore Abeg. |
All is set. This evening 11 could easily become 8, then 8 becomes 5...... |
I sincerely hope Walcott and Sagna well wherever they might be playing next season. I hope they go to La liga cos that's what I've been watching since I stopped following Arsenal regularly. |
Our lack of ambition is finally in the open. Oya, donkeyanu come and post your rants, you now have a license. |
