tpia1: ^ which cities are those?Kusumelu, Dingiswayo, Agades, Maradi, Ndjamena etc. Want more? |
Ikengawo: I would like to bring it to people's attention that the nation is so used to not having pipe borne or clean water that it's no longer on the discussion table of even the most progressive governors.Thank you, this issue has always troubled me too. providing pipe borne water might not look the most pressing need in the country, but this issue still bothers me a lot. If you visit most cities in Nigeria you'll observe trolley pushers(water hawkers), with yellow jerricans filled with water, traversing the streets. Not only is this an eyesore but also an indictment on our governors. With the billions allocated for water provision every year, how come we don't have modern water distribution systems yet? If telecom companies can lay Fibre optic cables that go as far Europe, why can't state Governments lat simple pipes? Instead they keep commissioning boreholes that dry up or brake down after a month. Just thinking about the number of children in rural areas who die from drinking untreated water is makes one sick. She how infants died in Zamfara from lead poisoning and how hundreds more die from Cholera and related diseases Annually |
If we have reached a zone where the argument isn't about how good our players are but if they're actually sheit or not, then I believe we're in toast. Meanwhile the Ramsey issue is generating comments...

eldoradoxx: You are point brother!!! I don't understand the kind of stu*ipid analysis of Sanusi. He has failed to mention that the huge cost that is used to maintain the said civil servants is not what is earned by the 18000 naira minimum wage earners(the civil servant proper) but what is used to maintain the executive civil servants(if I may borrow this) who reside in Aso rock and National assembly, who have Senior special advisers, special advisers and advisers, who drive upto 30 cars as escort, who fly first class or chartered plane, who stay at presidential suites in the best hotels everywhere they re all at fed govt ezpenses. Civil servants. I know of a civil servant in NNpc who because he was promoted to directorate level, had a call allowance of over one million per month with his wife, they too are civil servants. So its not poor 18k minimum wage earners whose total salary and allowances in a year at fed level is less than 60 billion . He shud talk about he real drain pipe in govt, the ministers and their aids, the senators and aids, wasn't it permanent second in Aso rock that said that about 1.3 billion naira wouldn't be enough for feeding in one year?Very simple but true picture. |
Nice, but we still have a lot of work to do.

Non expectancy can not yield pain and anguish since nothing was expected iin the first place. But perennial UCL finals losers experience a pain similar to childbirth |
Where is the hopeless and directionless Man that would be groaning from pain and anguish at season's end? |

solomonkane: Try and apply the grey matter in that big cesspit stuck between your ears, it is not meant for decoration you know. What offence will it be classified as; treasonable felony, incitement to cause public disorder or what? SMH.Even after the Expo you're asking me for the answer? I refuse to descend. |
solomonkane: Then the SSS must be a collection of even bigger idiots than I ever thought possible. I wait to see under what laws they will charge him; all he needs is a good lawyer, he will sue their backsides off and come out more popular and richer than ever. SMH.Don't act like an ignoramus. Let me give you an assignment : When a citizen of Nigeria goes to the media and calls for the removal of the sitting Govt by means not stipulated in the constitution, what do we have call that? |
Ajaccio president Alain Orsoni has revealed he is intending to resign as he is fearing for his life after two people close to the club were murdered in the last month. Since the turn of the year, 17 people have been shot dead in Corsica, an island that has a longstanding problem with organised crime and violent separatists. Two days ago, Jacques Nacer, Ajaccio's general secretary and the president of the Chamber of Commerce of South Corsica, was killed when leaving his downtown clothes shop. Nacer had replaced Antoine Nivaggioni, who was killed in October 2010, on the Ajaccio board. One month ago, Antoine Sollacaro, the club's lawyer, was shot dead at a petrol station. Nacer and Sollacaro were close to Orsoni, who led a nationalist movement in Corsica, and is still under investigation over a 2009 killing. Having been the subject of a murder attempt shortly after becoming Ajaccio president in 2008, he said in Friday's edition of Le Parisien that he considers himself to be a "priority target" and feels that he has been "condemned to death by rumours". He added that he plans to leave the island and move to another country "if [he is] still alive". On Thursday, in an interview with the France Inter radio station, he had said: "Of course I'm scared. I have a family, children, a 78-year-old mother who trembles every day when she reads the papers. "More than scared, I'm desperate......See what football is turning into, Wenger and Co dey play with them lives walahi. Some people know people o. |
Negro Nts where is you from and whence did ye fall out from? Your writing almost has a melody to it. ![]() |
Very dumb statement, why didn't just say people they had never seen before instead of nobody knows anyone that's black. The Republican party just keeps alienating itself more and more. |
O P thank you for finding me a Role Model, Jose Mujica. |
it is a historical fact that there has never been any attack against settlers in any part of igboland except reprisal attacks on northerners caused by attacks on igbos in the north igboland and yoruba land are the most accommodating among majority tribes in nigeria
] While the Middlebelters are the most accommodating people in this Country. ![]() |
How can anyone in his right mind criticize Nigerian graduates for not being perceptive? From the comments I have seen so far I know people cannot be taken for a ride by cheap political strategies anymore. To those concerned, please keep your cheap worthless land to yourself. Or let me say it like this : 1. You must reap what you planted. 2. As you make your bed..... 3. Fly wey follow dead body enter grave.. |
dayokanu: Full time 2-0but for how long, You know say January's around the corner? |
4llerbuntu: a team where Gibbs, Rosicky and Diaby are the coming messiahs!!!Who be "una", and how come you're excluded? Anyway, that's the kind of team we now are: filled with injury prone players hoping to be fit enough to get transferred or too mediocre to play in other big clubs. |

Chylo: The arguments in this thread just confirms to me that many people cannot read a story properly and comprehend. OP, your understanding is flawed and you have just misinformed people. What the deputy gov said, was over 60% of value added manufacturing, and not non-oil GDP. Where did you guys come up with thatYou are here accusing people of misunderstanding the text when you cannot see that the story was lifted from a news publication. Naija for you |
Olodostein: Others are making their points and backing it up with figures. You are here throwing sentiments. And what part of the country do you think I'm in right now? And thanks for the what you just said up there. Isn't the fact that in spite of the total break down of some so called Agricultural states, the country's Economy is growing well a clear indication that they impact Nigeria's economy minimally. |
This is one daring move I will always respect Buhari for. Those were the glory days of the then SSS or Secret police, not now that they're hungry looking men busy escorting Governors' wives to naming ceremonies. Our Security outfits are now a joke. |
I remain doubtful of Fashola's claim and I have provided you with data which do not support that claim. Please support your own claim with credible data. There is no need to argue about this. When I see credible data which is contrary to the GDP data provided by our government, then I will be more than happy to admit that I erred. So far, I remain unconvinced.
I'm not on NL to convince or dissuade you, I'm here for people who reason alike. It's not a fluke that Lagos is virtually the only functioning State in the same Country where there are States existing in Mogadishu like conditions ![]() |
Oga, where did you and Fashola get your 65% from? If Fashola was referring to our GDP, who provides that data to the public? If not NBS, would it be the witches and wizards organization of Nigeria? If Agric alone contribute almost 50% to non oil GDP, how can you say Lagos state alone contributes 65%? I am not going to waste my time with you because you don't know how to read simple tabular data or do simple arithmetic. abeg make we hear word.
And you think any sane Human being would doubt anything out of Fashola's over what you say here? Do the C I A get their information from the NBS too? May be you're the ones who need to go back to school to learn the meaning of "accounts for" |
@OP, stop spreading untruths initiated by suspicious journalists. What Fashola said was that he believes that Lagos State accounts for up to 65% of non-oil GDP, but we do not have any data to support the statement. If the OP has any data to support Fashola's claims, please post. I counter Fashola's statement by stating that Kano State accounts for more than the percentage contributed by Lagos state. For the ignorant folks, note that Agricuulture contributed 40% to the Real GDP and if you look at non oil GDP alone, that contribution will be higher than 40%. It is ridiculous and deceptive to make a bogus claim that Lagos State contributes 65% to non oil GDP. You can verify 2012 Q2 GDP Report here. Go to Table 6: 2011 and Q1—Q2 2012 Real Gross Domestic Product (Constant 1990): Sectoral Contribution & Growth Rate (Percentages) section and see for yourselves. I don't know why politicians lie like this.
Even from that suspicious data you produced from the NBS, one can easily see sectors dominated by lagos adding up to 65% of non oil GDP. Isnt that the same NBS that claims there are more people in kano than Lagos? Telecoms, Manufacturing, trade, Financial institutions are primarily found where? |
^^ Of course it puts food in the mouth of the Common Man. imagine if tbe state was as useless as the rest, how many people would even have Jobs/ businesses in the private sector. |
