The Joint Military Task Force (JTF) in the Niger Delta has arrested 21 Ghanaians and five Nigerians at Awoba, Degema Local Government Area of Rivers for alleged illegal bunkering. The task force also recovered more than 250,000 tons of crude oil from two vessels –MT. Oxo and MT Ane –seized from the bunkerers. Tukur Buratai, the Commander of the 2 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Port Harcourt and Sector Two of the task force, which covers Rivers and Bayelsa, told newsmen in Port Harcourt on Tuesday that the suspects were arrested in the early hours of Monday. Mr. Buratai said residents of Awoba community, a coastal settlement in Degema Local Government Area, had alerted the task force of the vandalism of a Shell pipeline in the area by oil thieves. According to him, it is the information received from the residents of the area that led to the arrest of the suspects. The commander said that the suspects would be interrogated by the Army and handed over to the appropriate authorities for prosecution. http://premiumtimesng.com/news/national/4989-jtf_arrests_21_ghanaians_5_nigerians_for_illegal_bunkering.html |
3-1 is my favorite score. Wide enough to show the winner is the better team and narrow enough to drive away complacency. |
Are you guys still in Nigeria, Nduchuck and Co? Is there still such a thing as North? Hmmmmm . |

Pictures taken by the Canadian photographer Daniel Hayduk reveal an intriguing, but essential, aspect of the west African economy. Contraband fuel purchased legally in Nigeria, where subsidies keep prices much lower than in neighbouring countries, irrigates the economies of the whole region. Every morning a flotilla of small boats approaches the Togolese coast, laden with Nigerian fuel. The jerry cans are thrown overboard and towed back to the beach by swimmers. The precious liquid is decanted for sale in the capital Lomé, but also in Ghana, Burkina Faso and even Mali. |
dayokanu: Imagine this loser. How many finals have you played? Imagine Togo mocking Holland for losing a World cup finalIf Togo can be serial world cup seeds why not? |
dayokanu: 12 goals in 2 games yet on a 7yrs trophiless runOkay, Bayern is on a trophy filled run I guess? How many finals have you lost in the last two years? |
Waste pipes. A team that scored 12 goals in two matches, in two different competitions. In case you're becoming blind, the defense and not the attack was blamed for the loss |
If you like mess in Signal Iduna, we're climbing. Is it easy to be serial Champions league seeds ? |
dayokanu: Champions to be How marketIts doing good, our young Genius is back |
. It's up to Giroud It was billed as a battle between genuine title contenders, but how could it be when it also featured Arsenal? This was the match that saw Steve Bould fall from his pedestal. The former centre-back used to live for set-pieces, gobbling up strikers of all shapes and sizes, but after his shocker against Chelsea, methinks Laurent Koscielny might be booked in for some extra one-to-one sessions this week. As much as it pains me to say it, and as much as it will pain Gooners to hear it, what they really need is a presence like pantomime villain John Terry at the heart of their back line, marshalling, cajoling and pulling people into place. That man is used to constructing a defence, whether it is on or off the field. Not that Arsenal didn't have chances to pull themselves back from the precipice. It's just a shame their big late chance fell to Olivier Giroud, who clearly took less from his midweek goal against Coventry than the 60,000 fans inside Emirates Stadium thought he might. It'll take plenty more goals to pull that particular Frenchman out of a seemingly bottomless well of no confidence ![]() Fifth official finished Giroud, and even the team. But I don't understand this no confidence line everyone is throwing around. The guy was the top goal scorer for the French League Champions last season. He transfers to Arsenal, no injury, no drama with the old club, and all of a sudden he's suffering from low confidence. Na where Podolski get him own? This is bearing in mind that Poldi came from a more inferior league than the French one. |
JACK WILSHERE coming back will seem like Arsenal have just gone out and signed a new £30m player. But, even without him, they are serious title contenders for me this season –and I reckon they will prove it against Chelsea today. Wilshere won’t be playing as he’s not ready yet, but he’s going to play for the reserves next week for the first time in 15 months and that’s massive for Arsenal. He’s a great player who can really make a difference to them. The danger is that he won’t be the same player after being out so long.LANS alert ![]() http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/274506/Arsenal-having-Jack-Wilshere-back-is-like-a-30m-signing-says-Gunners-legend/ |
