shoodboi2: It is cost-saving for you until the guys who drive the trucks go out of business. Then you will understand why Dangote's monopoly over the cement sector is the reason many of us will never build houses.
If Dangote has good intentions, he wouldn't be trying to create a monopoly over Nigeria's oil sector. He should focus on his refinery and stop trying to kick everyone out of business.
He is trying to create the Nigerian version of Standard Oil. That's like the most monopolistic oil company ever built. The US government had to break it into 34 different oil companies back then.
Story Monopoly in cement with Bua and lafarge, mangal elephant why not build yours did he stop you from getting Licenced . Build you own refinery to compete
VONN50: NUPENG Rejects Depot Levy Allegations, Labels Them ‘Cheap Blackmail’
The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has denied claims of illegal levy collection at petroleum depots, insisting that recent accusations are “cheap blackmail” designed to damage its reputation.
In a statement, the union said the allegations were connected to its ongoing rift with Dangote Refinery over unionisation, accusing opponents of seeking revenge after losing that battle.
According to NUPENG, reports that it charges ₦1 per litre of petroleum products, aids smuggling, or sabotages government refineries are baseless. The union noted that several associations within the sector, including truck owners and marketers’ unions, also collect dues without similar scrutiny.
The group explained that contributions from Petroleum Tanker Drivers are used for safety training, health insurance packages provided by LEADWAY, and security arrangements for members on highways.
“No employer provides health insurance for tanker drivers. We set it up ourselves, along with security support against hijackers and kidnappers. Nobody does that for free,” the union stated.
NUPENG argued that the allegations are an attempt to weaken its influence and diminish public support, stressing that Nigerians often overlook prolonged strikes by other unions but react sharply to its own actions because of the immediate impact on businesses and mobility.

Why can't you set up your own refinery instead of feasting on somebody else sweat
cutecommend: I watched a video where a guy refused kneeling down to propose and the lady was telling him to kneel down. I don't know if he ever knelt down.
If you truly love and value a woman and you can swallow her bad past, please kneel down to propose to her if possible. Throw away any pride!. If you feel she does not worth it for you to kneel down to propose to her, please get another lady that worth it for marriage. Again, if you are determined not to kneel down no matter what, try to get some clarity before doing such proposal.
Please if God gives you a very beautiful, respectful, Godly and educated Virgin lady to marry, kindly prostrate or lie down during proposal if possible, then kneel down to put the ring.
Proposals may come in different forms; but this is for guys who kneel down to put ring in ladies finger.
You want can to carry liabilities and still have to beg for it is that not stupidity or Mumu Woman are supposed to beg to be married cos the expense is on the Man While the benefits goes to the woman . Marriage was created by smart woman
LoneSoldier: What is the purpose of marriage, most women enter marriage for what they can gain from it not what they can add to it, for them marriage is a business which they can't afford to lose to, the moment they agree to marry a man, the next thing on there mind is to do away with the marriage and gain massively from it, maybe after giving birth to 2-3 children you here them saying they are not interested in the marriage any longer that they want to divorce..... In most cases they use child support as a way to demand huge sum of money from there partners, in which if we have to investigate deeply with the use of DNA test, it might even shock you that the children the woman is seeking child support for, doesn't belong to the man....

ogododo: The President Bola Tinubu-led government on Tuesday blamed Nigeria’s debt on naira depreciation, dismissing criticisms that it is piling up debt for the country through reckless borrowings.
In a statement on Tuesday, Mr Tinubu’s spokesperson, Sunday Dare, said Nigeria’s debt had remained the same since March.
“Nigeria’s total public debt stood at ₦149.39 trillion as of March 31, 2025, according to the Debt Management Office,” Mr Dare said.
“The jump from last year is not the result of reckless borrowing but largely the arithmetic of naira depreciation,” he added.
The presidential spokesperson explained that “When the currency adjusts, the naira value of existing external debt rises—whether or not new loans are taken.”
In comparison, Mr Dare argued that “Nigeria’s debt-to-GDP ratio remains a moderate 40–45 per cent, well below South Africa’s 70 per cent or Ghana’s 90 per cent plus. The real challenge lies in revenue mobilisation, not runaway borrowing. Encouragingly, revenues are improving, strengthening our capacity to service obligations.
For Mr Dare, “Borrowing is a legitimate tool for financing growth and reforms.”
Mr Dare’s statement drew responses from some netizens who disagreed with his stance on Nigeria’s debt under Mr Tinubu’s watch.
An X user, @Iam_arizona, said, “Which regime caused naira depreciation. How much has the current regime borrowed? Defending Tinubu, you must sound stupid.”
Another user, @Orewae, said, “Your government is unpopular and in the minority. Your principal’s mode of governance is extremely irritating to the majority of Nigerians. Who depreciated the naira?”
“Naira has appreciated in the larger part of this year; the debt should reduce. Govt claims it has made so much money this year, the debt should either stagnate or reduce,” @udoetuknyanah said.
Also, @luvfemi2015 said, “A govt with wicked and heartless policies. It’s only the sycophants that are praising this government. 99.9 per cent of Nigerians detest this wicked government.”
shameless people you destroy your currency yourself and is has severe disastrous effect on doubling your debts profile now blaming what you did yourself
LoneSoldier: Dear esteemed men, what do women actually bring to the table in marriage, because the way I see it men are the ones doing everything even though society deems it that way, I don't think it makes any sense for only one person to be shouldering everything all in the name of "man of the house" this is the main reason men are dieing constantly, the load is much.....
Dear esteemed men share your thoughts.....

I’m exploring options for doing my MBA and want to know which private university in Nigeria offers the most affordable program.
I’ve been checking names like Oduduwa, Paul, Caritas, Al-Hikmah, and Crawford… their undergraduate tuition fees seem low (around ₦100k–₦300k). But I’m not sure about MBA costs.
So:
1. Which private university has the cheapest MBA?
2. What’s the current tuition fee?
3. Any payment options like instalments?
Would really appreciate feedback from anyone with insider info or experience!

heracles1: my friend told me that, the school he is teaching, are looking for a physics teacher and he wants me to help him ask around, because since when the physics teacher in that school resigns, it has been months and still they have not found his replacement. I asked him how much the school pays so that when I ask around I will tell the person everything, and my friend told me that the school will pay 85k per month. I graduated from uni since 2019 and I have never done any kind of job, and this my friend is asking me to help him look for someone for his school to employ, I was suprised but I didnt say anything to him, after 3days I told him that I have gotten someone for the job and he told me to tell the guy to come to the school with his CV for interview. I didnt tell my friend that I will be the guy. Today in the morning, I prepared and went to the school with my CV, on getting there I called my friend and he came and ask me where is the person, I told him its me, He said to me, why will you come for the interview while you know you cant teach physics, I told him in this era of AI, I can teach any subject. All I want from him is to cover for me and never tell the principal that I did not study physics in school, he said no he cant do that for me. I am very angry and want to cut ties with that friend of mine forever.

So I've always read a lot of stories in the agriculture section especially when it comes to people who have done the business and have not been able to make it. I never knew that heartbreak, na national breakfast, e go reach everybody.... E don finally reach me
So earlier this year I had some money lying around and as a student of Agriculture I decided that what more valuable investment could I venture into aside the agriculture wey dem dey teach me for school... So I thought back and forth and I discarded a lot of ideas. I didn't go into poultry because I didn't have the space. I didn't go into border livestock farming for that same issue as well. I didn't go into crop production because of the time investment it was going to take and I did not have the land available and also someone to guide me on how to do it profitably. So I sat down and thought and settled on smoked catfish.
Smoked catfish because i could easily be done with my production within a week. I could buy the fish, process the fish, smoke the fish and package the fish within just one week and it has long shelf life so I don't have to worry about my goods spoiling because I'm unable to sell. So with that spirit in mind I carried my money and ventured into smoked catfish.
I had over a million to invest but thank God for Fish Magnet of blessed memory..... I watched one of his videos and he said if you like have 100 million to put into catfish business first keep your 100 million in your pocket and start with 200 pieces. If you find it profitable you can put more money, if not you've learned and you can do better. So with that word in mind I decided to venture into catfish with that same level of cautiousness. I produced only 40 kg and after smoking it was about 11 kg... roughly 200 pieces of smoked catfish and so I started marketing.
I posted on my social media handles and I wasn't able to secure buyers except for a few friends that got after so much pestering and disturbing... just like that I was looking at my catfish and my catfish was looking at me. We were in a staring contest and the sales were moving so slowly. One part of my mind was thanking God that I did not put over a million Naira into this business, I would have started hitting my catfish by myself. But on the other side I was also praying for inspiration because I wanted to do this business genuinely and I wanted to grow it so I wanted it to expand and sales to grow. But since there was nothing I thought I could do at that time I was just watching till God sent a woman close by as an angel.
I put the fish in her shop then slowly people bought but it was not moving as fast as I wanted. It took more than 2 months to eventually sell off such a small number and I had to reduce my price because of low sales. So let's say I ended in break-even.
And that is my experience with smoked catfish business. So farmers in the house please teach me about this business. I want to learn. I want to do it the second time on a larger scale but I'm thinking if there are ways to get off-takers that you could just sell your whole production to immediately after smoking without having to sell retail one by one. Even if the profit margin is lesser it is a lot better.
So if you have any experience on smoked catfish business please drop them in this thread, make we learn.
Wrong move start by trading the item then Manufacture . Get outlet and start selling Fish first if profitable then go into production

Dogalmighty17: Considering that the fastest selling vehicles in Asia and Europe currently are EVs and not ICEs, one can't help but wonder what Dangote's end game is.
The future is in renewables. Spending 25 billion dollars in a refinery when demand for crude and its derivatives is projected to start declining from as early as 2035 only means that Dangote intends to use his clout to stop Nigeria's full embrace of renewables and EVs.
Donald Trump today cancelled every renewable energy contract from the federal government in the US. One of them a wind turbine farm was already at 90% completion. He did this based on the push of oil execs. Dangote will likely push the federal government to ensure that renewables don't have a foothold in Nigeria.
Renewable to power planes , caterpillars, ship tanks it a long way

Here is the list of the Nothern states in Nigeria;
DeOTR: Honestly, I only know Dangote after 1999. My school was along an expressway. Never for once did I see any Dangote truck until after Obj came in in 1999. The man is an industrialist, but he hugely benefitted from government favors and undue advantages
Dangote and co started all this import rubbish thing destroying Nigeria industry based then later on started several failed companies like Dangote textile kano , Dangote Flour ,dansa Juice , Dangote tomatoes .but after obj crated the opportunity With obajana cement boom Dangote sugar boom Dangote refinery .he now needs same tactics but PIB and Tinibu is not agreeing
ibechris: I like the fact that they are writing books now but non of them would ever write how bribe and kickbacks are paid to dislodge others who are in the same industry.
NIGERIAN in a country that value monopoly over competitive growth.
If u enter the same industry, without a big politician backing u,u will never go anywhere. These are part of the men that got to that space because of OBJ and IBB.
Obj and IBB made Dangote,Otedola. While IBB made Authur Eze and the owner globacom,Gado Nasko and many other I can't remember now.
