What has that got to do with the abuse of power and disregard of the constitution!? What do you by the term "emotional"? Igbos are emotional unless the support Tinubu?
There is something called the "federal character" in the constitution. It was not put there by the igbos. It was inserted inside the constitution by you guys.
What has playing "smart politics" (read tribal politics) got to do with following constitutional stipulations?

To start with, it is totally diversionary to relentlessly make these puerile accusations about igbos "not playing smart politics ". Ekwueme supported Shagari, the same Ekwueme and the whole south-east supported Obasanjo and the PDP. There were significant igbo support for APC with the likes of Okorocha, Ognonnaya Onu and Ngige bringing the needed regional presence. At the moment, two out of 5 igbo states are APC! So those are not enough to atleast make Tinubu obey the laws at it regards the federal character in appointments and government distribution of amenities?

Tribalism is Tribalism.
Let's call a spade a spade.
And Tribalism in this dangerous administration will not end unless it is confronted.

If igbo leaders do not quickly brace up and confront this regime, igbo as an ethnic group in Nigeria might be in a dire danger of political and economic extinction by the end of this regime. This is just 2 years in and a total and relentless obliteration of the igbo has been the most consistent cardinal agenda of Tinubu and his minions... It is no more a laughing matter. He is on a mission and folks have to find ways to confront and stop him, together with the igbos and minority characters supporting him.
IBOs refuse to play smart politics they are emotional with obi knowing fully well he can't win without getting into coalition with the Far North .

PoliticsRe: Why An Atiku/obi Ticket In 2027 Might Be The South-east’s Closest Path To The Pr by Educationalserv: 2:00pm On Jul 28, 2025
ibabz:
Why an Atiku/Obi Ticket in 2027 Might Be the South-East’s Closest Path to the Presidency

As Nigeria approaches another election cycle in 2027, the political permutations around zoning, power rotation, and regional equity have once again taken center stage. For the South-East, a region that has yet to produce a democratically elected president since independence, 2027 presents a critical window, but also a narrowing one.

Current Power Distribution and Zoning Logic

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a Yoruba man from the South-West, is currently in power, having assumed office in May 2023. By 2027, he would have completed his first term. Traditionally, Nigeria's informal power rotation agreement, though unwritten, tends to alternate the presidency between the North and the South every eight years.

If Tinubu seeks and wins a second term (2027–2031), then by zoning logic, power would shift back to the North until at least 2039. After that, the cycle would logically return to the South.

But here’s the catch: the South is not a monolith. The Southern region consists of three major zones:

South-West (Yoruba)
South-South (Ijaw, Itsekiri, Urhobo, etc.)
South-East (Igbo)

While the South-West (Obasanjo, 1999–2007, and now Tinubu) and the South-South (Jonathan, 2010–2015) have both had shots at the presidency, the South-East remains excluded.

If the power pendulum swings back to the North after 2027 or 2031, the next realistic opportunity for a Southern presidency could be as far as 2043, or even later, considering the likelihood of other zones wanting a turn. The South-South may argue they deserve a full 8-year tenure, having only done 5 years under Jonathan. The North Central may also push for a turn, having never produced a president.

Why an Atiku–Obi Pact Could Be a Game-Changer

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar (North-East) and former Governor Peter Obi (South-East) are two of the most prominent opposition figures from the 2023 election. In 2023, Atiku ran under the PDP and came second with about 6.9 million votes, while Obi, under the Labour Party, shocked the nation by pulling over 6.1 million votes, coming third but dominating the South-East and making inroads in Lagos, Abuja, and parts of the Middle Belt.

Both men command massive followings:

Atiku has the North-East and part of the North-West as his base.

Obi has become the political hope of the South-East and parts of the youth population nationwide.

If these two leaders could strike a clear, written and publicly endorsed agreement, where:

Atiku runs for only one term (2027–2031)
Obi is his running mate and guaranteed support for 2031 presidential ticket

Then the South-East would be strategically positioned for its best and closest shot at the presidency.

Such a deal would:

Reunify the opposition votes that were split in 2023.

Reassure the South-East electorate that their turn is not being postponed indefinitely.

Offer a win-win for both men, allowing Atiku to fulfill his long-standing ambition and retire with a legacy of facilitating regional inclusion.

Why the Ruling Party Fears a United Atiku–Obi Front

It appears that the ruling APC and President Tinubu understand the strategic threat posed by a united Atiku–Obi ticket and they are already working to prevent it. This is why there is a noticeable push by APC-aligned voices for the opposition to field a Southern candidate, especially Peter Obi. Their logic is simple: if the main opposition candidate is from the South, the North's massive voting bloc will stay loyal to Tinubu, making re-election easier.

But if Atiku, a Northern heavyweight, runs with the full support of Peter Obi and the South-East, such a ticket becomes formidable, perhaps unbeatable. That’s why APC loyalists, including figures like Nyesom Wike, Reno Omokri, and other e-warriors, are loudly opposing this potential alliance. Some even pose as “Obidients” online while subtly pushing narratives that pit Obi against Atiku, all in a bid to prevent the merger. Their goal is simple: divide the opposition and conquer again in 2027.

Electoral Arithmetic Supports It

Let’s look at 2023 figures for context:
Combined Atiku and Obi votes in 2023 = 13 million.

Tinubu won with 8.7 million votes

If they had run together with a united platform and party, they likely would have overtaken Tinubu comfortably. This makes the alliance not just morally appealing for justice and equity, but also mathematically feasible.

Why Time is Running Out for the South-East.

If this window is missed, and Tinubu wins again in 2027:

The North will likely produce the next president (2031–2039).

The South-South or North-Central may also seek their turn (2039–2047).

This could delay the South-East’s chances until 2051 or beyond, nearly three decades from now.

In Nigeria's fast-changing political terrain, nothing is guaranteed, especially that far into the future.

Conclusion: The Strategic Path Forward

The 2027 Atiku–Obi ticket built on a single-term agreement and a handover plan to the South-East may be the most realistic and closest path for the Igbo presidency. Not just for symbolism, but for historical justice and national unity.

Whether the political elite in both camps will be humble and wise enough to see this rare alignment of stars remains to be seen.

For years the masses have been taken for granted, the politicians appropriated everything to themselves leaving the masses to wallow in poverty. Nigeria was virtually gone and at the edge of collapse at the end of Buhari regime. Tinubu took over, steered it away from collapse, changed the status quo, reorganized every facets of governance and financial system. He gave the north the same dose they have been dishing out to the south for years. Now, lots of southern politicians are being elevated for future political contest. What this man seeks is a united south that will be able to also dictate how this country is governed. The strength of our national economy and survival lies in the south at the moment as the north is currently being riddle by conflicts. No meaningful economic activity is taking place in the north. The entire burden of the nation is on the south. We must remain supportive and united to avoid a step back into the abyss should continuity be denied. My hope and expectation is that a day and time will come when Obi will work with Tinubu instead of going around foraging for who to work with. We must at all times face our realities.

Peterobiisathie:
The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old Nigerian national, Emmanuel Okafor Chukwuma, in connection with an armed robbery attack on a Mobile Money vendor at Avenor in Accra.

A statement signed by the Greater Accra Head of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Juliana Obeng, indicated that Chukwuma, who works as an illegal miner (galamsey operator), was apprehended after a failed escape attempt.

The incident occurred on Sunday, June 30, 2025, at about 8:30 p.m., when the victim was at her workplace.

According to police investigations, Chukwuma and an accomplice, identified only as Emeka, arrived on an unregistered motorbike and attacked the vendor at gunpoint, demanding cash.

During the robbery, Chukwuma reportedly fired three warning shots, one of which struck the victim in the left leg. Fearing for her life, she handed over her bag, which contained GHS 20,000.

Shortly after the attack, a courageous bystander gave chase and raised an alarm. Other members of the public joined the pursuit, which led to the suspects crashing their motorbike. Chukwuma was arrested on the spot, while his accomplice managed to flee.

During interrogation, Chukwuma admitted to the crime in his caution statement and revealed that both he and Emeka had planned to flee to Nigeria after the robbery, having already secured travel tickets.

He has since been charged and remanded into police custody by the court. He is scheduled to reappear before the court on July 30, 2025.

Meanwhile, the victim’s stolen bag, which contained GH₵ 9,000 at the time of recovery, has been returned to her.

The Accra Regional Police Command commended the bravery and swift intervention of individuals who contributed to the apprehension of the suspect.

“The Accra Regional Police Command commends the bravery and support of the public. We assure the public of ongoing efforts to apprehend Emelca, the other accomplice on the run, and urge everyone to continue supporting the Police by reporting suspicious activities via 18555 or 191,” the statement concluded.

Title: Who Owns the Child Born Before Islamic Marriage.

Introduction

This article explains what Islam says about a child born before marriage (from zina). It answers in simple words: Who owns the child? Who should care for the child? What are the rules? What do the scholars and the four Imams say? What does the Qur’an and Hadith teach us?

1. Is the Child Guilty?

No. Islam teaches that the child is innocent. The child is not to be blamed for what the parents did.

“No soul bears the burden of another.” — Surah Al-An’am 6:164

2. Who Owns the Child?

🔹If a child is born before Nikah, the child belongs to the mother only.

🔹The father cannot claim the child in Islamic law.

🔹The child takes the mother’s name, not the father’s.

This is the view of all four major schools of Islamic law.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “The child belongs to the bed (i.e. legal marriage), and for the adulterer is nothing.” — Sahih al-Bukhari, 2053; Muslim, 1457

So, unless the child is born during a valid marriage, the father has no legal claim to the child.

3. Who Performs the Aqeeqah?

🔸The mother’s family should perform the aqeeqah (the Islamic naming and sacrifice).

🔸If they are unable, any Muslim relative or community member can do it as a good deed.

🔸The biological father has no religious duty to perform aqeeqah unless he repents and chooses to help.

4. Who Takes Care of the Child?

Since the child belongs only to the mother, the mother is responsible for:

▪️Feeding the child

▪️Clothing the child

▪️Sheltering the child

▪️Educating the child

▪️Caring for all the needs of the child

If the mother is unable, her family or the Muslim community can help. The biological father is not legally responsible in Islamic law but is encouraged to support the child if he repents and fears Allah.

5. Can the Child Be Adopted?

Yes, the child may be cared for by someone else, but:

🔹The child must not be given the name of the adoptive family or the biological father.

🔹The child’s lineage remains with the mother.

6. Inheritance

🔸The child cannot inherit from the biological father.

🔸The child may inherit only from the mother and her family.

🔸Likewise, the father cannot inherit from this child.

However, the father may give gifts or a will (wasiyyah) to the child before his death (up to 1/3 of his estate), if he wants to show kindness.

7. Punishment for the Sin (Zina)

If two people have a child before marriage, it means they committed zina, which is a major sin in Islam.

The punishment:

▪️100 lashes for unmarried persons — Surah An-Nur 24:2

▪️Stoning to death for those who were married — Sahih Muslim

These are only carried out under an Islamic court with proper evidence or confession. If not proven, the person must repent to Allah sincerely.

8. Statements of the Four Imams

✅ Imam Abu Hanifah (Hanafi):

🔹Child born from zina belongs to the mother only.

🔹The man cannot claim the child.

> Bada’i al-Sana’i, Vol. 7, p. 327

✅ Imam Malik (Maliki):

🔸Child is linked to the mother.

🔸No naming or inheritance from the father.

> Al-Mudawwanah, Vol. 2

✅ Imam al-Shafi’i (Shafi’i):

▪️No legal link to the father.

▪️Child takes the mother’s name.

> Al-Umm, Vol. 5, p. 51

✅ Imam Ahmad (Hanbali):

🔹Child of zina belongs to the mother.

🔹No legal fatherhood, name, or inheritance.

> Al-Mughni by Ibn Qudamah, Vol. 9, p. 124

9. Statements of Salafi Scholars

✅ Shaykh Ibn Baz رحمه الله:

"A child from zina belongs to the mother, not the adulterer. He cannot be attributed to him."

✅ Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen رحمه الله:

"The child born from zina is not linked to the man who committed zina unless he was married to the mother at the time."

✅ Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan حفظه الله:

"The child is not to be named after the man. There is no inheritance. Responsibility falls on the mother."

10. What Should the Parents Do?

Repent sincerely to Allah.

🔸Stop the sin and avoid repeating it.

🔸Make a proper Islamic marriage (Nikah) if they wish to be together.

🔸Start a new life on Taqwa (fear of Allah).

“O my slaves who have transgressed, do not despair of the mercy of Allah...” — Surah Az-Zumar 39:53

Summary Table

Final Advice

Dear Muslim brothers and sisters,

° Respect Islamic marriage laws.

° Do not delay Nikah if both are ready.

° Teach your children about zina and its danger.

If you made a mistake, repent — Allah is Merciful.

Allah loves those who turn back to Him in repentance.

> May Allah guide us to what pleases Him.

Meanless Religion .for the Stone age .why didnt Allah stop the procreation in the first place ? Zina is not supposed to produce kids cos the products are Innocent

emkz:
Atiku has demonstrated the lack of capacity to challenge the likes of Wike, Makinde and Ortom to wrestle the soul of PDP.

The question is: does Atiku have rhe capacity to build a real party?

1. Let us recall that Atiku had run under AC in 2007 and Buhari ran under CPC in 2011. Atiku secured less than 8% of the votes in 2007. Buhari did well, but lost. They could have done better if they marketed their parties more.

2. How does Atiku intend to market ADC nationwide in less than two years before the next elections? He is using the same old and tired hands who formed a retinue to unorganized and disorganized spokesmen who ruined his 2023 campaign by not focusing their messaging on Atiku's plans and focused on irrelevant issues. APC was heavily marketed with Late Buhari's persona and Tinubu's media machinery, including hiring young media entrepreneurs to rebrand Buhari. Does Atiku have it and does he have the funds?

3. The gang in the coalition consists of politicians who are mostly yesterday's men or have one electoral baggage or the other. There are new kids on the block. Can Atiku's yesterday's men out-wit the new kids on the block?

4. If Atiku wants to play a northern affair, he should forget about the presidency. Buhari did it in 2011 and lost. Spread is important. The concensus is that the south should have 8 years. Hakeem Baba Ahmed said so. Has Atiku ever supported a southern candidate apart from 2003 where he had to be begged to allow Obasanjo before Obasanjo showed him pepper after winning?

5. What exactly does Atiku want to do differently for the nation? His ambition is becoming desperate. What is Atiku's scorecard in the sale of government infrastructure? What is Atiku's scorecard in economic reforms? Some Nigerians will say the Obasanjo/Atiku template of defending the naira is more useful. That template sold billions of dollars at artificially low rates. What it means is that someone wasted his salary on unproductive things only to say we shouldn't worry about the future and then the person loses his job. What is Atiku's scorecard in power sector reforms where he admitted that they paid some contractors 100% upfront for power sector contracts that were never done. Atiku also needs to clarify the PTDF scandal, the US Senator Jefferson bribery case and his real estate investments in USA.

Atiku Abubakar did not attend the burial of the Awujale of Ijebu Land. Same man that wants Yorubas to vote for him in 2027. Yorubas will not vote for him in 2027.

You will see as this inconsequential character’s opinion will be moved to front page.
