There are some forces that needs to be used to get things done around them.When doing so it needs to be moderately applied. But you shouldn't hit them.

In fact there's an avenue for them to report to their supervisors if their patients are abusive and difficult to deal with. But I guess they need the job more than the risks involved in doing the right thing.
