Hey guys, Xiaomi is indeed an awesome brand with great phones. But the risk of using the phone in Nigeria (no xiaomi office here for repairs) is quite high. Also it seems getting the global version to Nigeria is risky( the issue BTW noobody and the other guy). Because the phone might get bricked if I try to update it.
So my question is, is it worth it? Getting the phone to Nigeria or should I just go with infinix ( for the safety of familiarity). Even though xiaomi is better. Thanks

The fact you're still asking questions like these means infinix never show you pepper enough, life is full of risk, there's no escaping it. Heck even infinix, tecno n itel have limited official support for a majority of their phones, so unless you're a very rough n careless user of phone then you have nothing to worry about. Xiaomi is a top quality Chinese brand that known in China n India with a combined population of over 2 billion human beings, same CAN NOT be said for infinix tecno n itel, so relax your mind n go get the Xiaomi phone of your choice n enjoy maximum value for your hard earned money. But if for some unimaginable reason you feel you you MUST get an infinix phone, then the only phones from them now that is worth it is the note 5/ note 5 stylus android one version. My 2 cents

P.S the only phone from the profiteering makers of tecno, infinix n itel that is worth buying is the their random Android One series, everything else is gunk

It's a hardware feature, a phone must have band 28 to be able to access Glo 4G

I'm using my Glo network with my redmi 5 plus running AOSP Extended v6 pie rom n my phone is better at detecting bad network than an infinix phone, specifically my last phone that is an old infinix hot. Infinix phone will be showing fake 3G but redmi 5 plus will just say "guy na edge dey o no worry yourself"

You people that are still bothered about Glo band 28, have you asked yourselves how reliable Glo network is in your area or wherever you will be using the phone with band 28, same Glo that has a habit of weekly network outtage? 2000GB for 100 naira data bundle you can't enjoy with peace of mind, is that one data bundle? Abeg you people should reexam your priorities when choosing a phone to avoid unnecessary anxiety

Me I know say I never said XDA is the best place for roms, I only used there as a reference because I think it's one of the safest places to get ROMs. If you like you can be forming boss just because you have been flashing ROMs since the beginning of the world, that is your business. I have no interest in roms from shadowy telegram groups or other similar places even if they are the best
