FamilyRe: I Saw This On FB by eepeepook: 5:46pm On Oct 28, 2025
All these ChatGPT fables.

I lived in the UK for a while. I saw a handful of Nigerian Brits who, for some reason, embraced their heritage. One I knew was 19 years of age and routinely dobale’d anytime he saw me. It confused me. He still had many British tendencies. He could disrespect an elder if there was need and threw punches to protect himself. His baseline, however, was a calm and easygoing demenour. He didn’t care for Nigerian music or off-the-boat females. All he ensured was to show respect to whom it was due.

The wild Nigerian Brits were those whose parents were too busy trying to make ends meet. It was up to them to pick a struggle in life. Many of them pick wrong. The system is always there to put sense in their heads. Anthony Joshua said a prison scare put his head right. He is one out of many.

Nnamdipapa:
I Regretted Travelling and Training My Children Abroad

When I look back now, sometimes I just sit and sigh deeply. If someone had told me that travelling abroad would come with this kind of hidden price, I would have argued. My name is Tunde, a married man from Nigeria, and this is my truth.

When we first landed in the UK, everything looked perfect, the neat streets, the calm weather, the polite smiles. My wife and I believed we had finally arrived at the “promised land.” I remember saying, “Omo, we don make am!” But we didn’t know that survival here isn’t about how fast you run, it’s about how long you can endure.

At first, we struggled to get decent accommodation, landlords wanted proof of income, and jobs weren’t easy to come by without “UK experience.” My wife, a graduate back home, started working as a cleaner in a care home. I, too, joined the hustle , doing night shifts in warehouses, sometimes two jobs at once. Sleep became a luxury. We smiled in pictures for family back home, but behind those smiles were swollen feet and endless bills.

Then came the children, our pride and joy. We were determined to give them the best. We worked so hard just to keep them in good schools. But with time, something changed. The same children we sacrificed everything for started drifting away. The values we grew up with in Nigeria which is respect, community, humility which began to fade in their own lives. They questioned every correction. “Daddy, you can’t talk to me like that, it’s abuse.” “Mummy, this is my right.”

We couldn’t even discipline them without fear. Teachers, social workers, and school authorities were quick to interfere. Back home, it takes a village to raise a child; here, it takes caution not to lose your child to the system. Our weekends were no longer for family bonding, my wife had back-to-back shifts, and I was constantly calculating bills: rent, council tax, electricity, food, transportation… everything had a price tag. The “soft life” we imagined abroad turned out to be an endless cycle of work and worry.

Now, sometimes when I talk to my friends back home who envy me, I just shake my head. They see the pictures, not the pressure. They see the pounds, not the pain.
If I’m being honest, there are nights I lie awake and whisper to myself, “Did I really make the right decision?” I wanted a better future for my children but in chasing that dream, I lost parts of myself, my culture, and sometimes, even my peace.
Don’t get me wrong, the UK gave me exposure, structure, and some comfort. But it also took something from me, something I may never get back.

If I could go back in time, maybe… just maybe… I would have stayed in Nigeria, built gradually, and raised my children close to our roots.
This isn’t to discourage anyone. It’s just a reminder that abroad is not heaven, it’s another battlefield.
Sometimes, when you think you’re running toward a dream, you might just be running away from peace.

It is what it is.
FamilyRe: Marriage On The Brink Of Collapse by eepeepook: 5:37pm On Oct 28, 2025
Did not read. I have important issues to deal with in my life.

dbabs500:
Hello Nlanders

I will tel you guys something for sure, marriage is sweet, but the bitter part of it can affect a mans life even more than a woman. Episodes upon episodes have surfaced online regarding SOME men bringing in their wife to the western world and gradually seeing the demon crawl out of them. I have read many and heard of some within my community here in the UK. I always thought these episodes only happen to some people that it could never happen to me, bros and sis, he dey sup oo.

I don't want to delve into too many details, but I just want to share with you guys the most recent thing happening in my own, this is just to let u guys know that he unthinkable can happen to anyone whether or not you deserve it or not

So one day i decided to change the kitchen lights from the white one to the warmer bulbs, I had kept them right atop the kitchen cabinet which is a bit high. I climbed my chair and lo and behold I saw a paper neatly wrapped in a square shape, I took and opened it, lo and behold the attached is what I saw, I obviously don't know exactly what it is, so I called my mum, and the only thing she could tell me was to destroy it and up my spiritual game.

Overtime, I sort of react on situations with my wife, but I have changed ways. I politely and diplomatically approached her and asked if she knew anything about what I found, and she said, where is it, told her I have destroyed it but showed her a picture that I took. She sobbed and said she knows nothing about it, and I silently ended the convo. A week later, I was assisting her to monitor the facebook ad that I have helped her with, a notification popped up on her computer saying ' finalize your hotel booking', which apparently popped out from bookings.com, I checked and saw that she pre-booked a hotel booking for 24th of Oct to 25th of Oct, I saw this 2 days prior to the 24th. I have had it in mind that I will not question her, set a trap and catch her red-handed, I know alot of you would say you should not have told her, she will now be smarter, I have my reasons and that's that. I left for work that day (24th), she was suppose to go for a house viewing as we are planning to move, I knew if for whatever reason, she might use that outing to go run things, that's if an actually plan was underway. On her wayback, we were talking while she was driving, then towards the end of the conversation, I asked her why she nor tell me sey she book hotel for me and her for Basildon, 24th to 25th two adults, she paused for like 6 seconds, and said which booking, then i gave her the lowdown, at first she was defensive, saying she does not want to further be asked questions, but that the pre-booking might have been done in error bla bla. I just ended it with no p, I thought I'd ask you. Since 7 days now, she dey try seduce me, i nor gree Bleep, im just telling myself, what kind of fake life person wan dey live so, i am with a woman that at least i know she's effing someone, because she has not been caught red-handed its all 'lets continue our normal life' but me nor sabi pretend and the fear of contracting disease and also spiritual misfortune is now on the high for my mind. Winter dun come, who i wan dey nack, the depression just start now again. Nlanders what would u do

HealthRe: The Best Method To Last Longer In Bed - For Men by eepeepook: 2:37pm On Oct 27, 2025
Mark Irabor is still here preying on men’s insecurities? What a life. Almost a decade if not more now.

markdigitals:
Premature Ejaculation is the most embarrassing sexual condition affecting about 4 out of every 10 men.

Most of them suffering from premature ejaculation hardly discuss it because of shame and embarrassment associated with this health challenge.

The TRUTH, however, is Premature Ejaculation is NOT the absence of sexual power! More than likely you have more sexual power than you ever thought you did. Erection weakness and premature ejaculation are coded messages from your body that you need to decipher and understand.

There is in principle no impotent man! However, some men don't understand their body's signals.
The penis exercises will:

1. Teaches you about your body and mind (gives you the required information on how your mind is controlling the erection and ejaculation process);

2. Trains you through simple, understandable lessons (each no longer than 10 minutes a day).

3. Bring you THE Joy Of success (I've done it, I can do it again). You will never forget the method, and you'll never need to read it again -
it's a lifelong skill)

Do not destroy your heart, liver and kidney by taking drugs, alcohol or bitters just to satisfy or impress your woman.
You were born with the only tool you need!

• You don’t need creams
• You don’t need toys
• You don’t need pills
• You don’t need drugs

Research has shown that Ejaculation control pills and capsules are "one-night" relief for premature ejaculation
and do not cure the problem at all.

The worst part is that these premature ejaculation pills and capsules are injurious to health.

RomanceRe: "Some EX Don't Need You For Marriage Only Sex To Destroy Your Marriage" by eepeepook: 5:16am On Oct 26, 2025
You know this, how? Have you ever been a woman?

cutecommend:
A lady can be single for years with her EX uninterested in seeing or calling her, and not even willing to sleep with: but if she gets a fiance and she is about to marry, same EX may come back for sex, sleep with her, get her pregnant and the serious fiance may father another child in marriage.

Again, a married lady may have her EX disturb her in her marriage. This EX may come with nothing, no cash, no help e.t.c, probably to come kindle old fire, have sex and walk away.

If several ladies who have slept with their EXes before wedding or in marriage come up to speak, you may notice that none of those EXes missed them for the sake of marriage or wished they married them.

Bringing in other children into a marriage may affect the true genealogy or bloodline of a family.

TV/MoviesRe: Terrestrial Television: A Ticking Time Bomb. by eepeepook: 2:38pm On Oct 25, 2025
Terrestrial TV has long faded. It died in international countries too. It is not a Nigerian phenomenon. Streaming won.

klimkid:
Once upon a time, switching on the TV at 8 p.m. for the NTA Network News or catching your favourite local drama was a family ritual. Today, that ritual is fading fast. Traditional television or terrestrial TV as it’s called is quietly slipping into extinction while streaming platforms are taking over our screens and attention spans.

Platforms like YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon Prime have completely redefined what it means to “watch TV.” The convenience of on-demand viewing has made sitting through rigid programming schedules feel ancient. A growing generation "especially Gen Z's" have never even tuned into most traditional channels. To them, content lives on their phones, not on antennas.

Just today, I watched a movie titled Love in Every Word. The first part was a banger on YouTube, amassing over 20 million views, and when the part two premiered, more than 100,000 people were watching live within the first hour. That’s the kind of real-time engagement traditional TV can only dream of today.

The truth is, terrestrial television isn’t just losing relevance, it’s becoming a ticking time bomb. Unless it reinvents itself for the digital age, it may soon explode into complete irrelevance.

What do you think, can traditional TV still survive in the streaming era, or is it already too late?

Does reducing the size or price of the plate make the food less expensive??

Nairaland GeneralRe: Are US Secret Service Agents Superior To Regular Celebrity Bodyguards? by eepeepook: 2:28pm On Oct 25, 2025
AI has been integrated into almost any device available. One query and you wouldn’t need to open threads on Nairaland.

knightsecurity:
I’ve been thinking about how U.S. Secret Service agents compare to private bodyguards who protect celebrities and other public figures. On the surface, both professions seem similar, but their training, responsibilities, and work environments are quite different.

Secret Service agents are part of a federal agency responsible for protecting national leaders. Their work involves intelligence coordination, threat analysis, and advance security logistics at a very high level. They train extensively in defensive tactics, counter-surveillance, and emergency response — all within strict government protocols and backed by significant resources.

Private protection specialists offering celebrity bodyguard services, however, work in a completely different world. Their focus is on flexibility, privacy, and adapting to unpredictable public settings such as film sets, concerts, red carpets, or international travel. These professionals often come from military or law enforcement backgrounds and are trained in close protection, risk assessment, and crowd control.

Both roles demand courage, discipline, and attention to detail, but they excel in different environments. Government agents thrive in structured operations, while private bodyguards are experts in handling fluid, real-world situations.

What do you think — does government-grade training automatically make someone a better protector, or does real-world experience in personal security matter more?

He surely is. I could tell from a mile.

BBMF:
Boyyblink has been sparkling reactions online after seeing in an image putting on rainbow & colorful clothe which also signifies the LGBTQ community.

Now what's the meaning of LGBTQ?
It means *Lesbian* , *Bisexual* , *Gay* , *Transgender* and Queer*

Is Boyyblink now part of the LGBTQ?
The answer is NO!

Putting on clothes with rainbow designs does not mean one is gay, now based on some research made on Google here are some results:

Can straight people wear a rainbow colors

Yes, anyone can wear rainbow colors for any reason. The rainbow is not exclusive to the LGBT+ community.

Wearing rainbow colors: You can wear rainbow colors on clothing, accessories, or anything else to show your support and allyship.
Liking the colors: Wearing rainbow colors because you like them is a valid reason.
Expressing individuality: Wearing what makes you feel confident and true to yourself is encouraged.
Showing support: Many see it as a positive way to show you are an ally, and the rainbow is meant to be inclusive.
