Education › Re: Is Nairaland A Good Forum? by eepeepook(op): 10:33pm On Aug 20, 2025 |
Nairaland to a T. NasirIbnLaAhad: Nairaland is the perfect exhibit for the absolute intellectual poverty of Nigerians as a collective.
It's almost depressing to see. Almost everyone here is so vain, vacuous, pretentious, painfully uninformed on basic facts, wilfully ignorant, dishonest, deceitful, needlessly superstitious, needlessly obsessed with irrelevant topics, pocketwatching, ridiculously tribalistic, and even outrightly allergic to logic. Mind you, these bunch of people are supposed to be "educated". But then again, we already know how drastically impotent the Nigerian education system is.
Other forums like reddit and 4chan have their moments of degeneracy but it honestly doesn't match what I read here regularly. On average redditors and 4chan users still exhibit rare moments of intellectual honesty. |

All these Gen Z children will never hear word. The girl was likely streaming on her phone during the event. That thing is as addictive as betting to Gen Z kids and agbayas from other generations. The difference in age must’ve made the hostess physically assault her. In such situation, what I see hostesses do is repeat instructions continuously to the passenger. After God knows how many times, the hostess gives up. Authorities are then called either before takeoff or after to handle the unruly passenger. Nigerians are emotional people. I can imagine how the hostess lost composure and attacked like a rabid dog. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Sunday Fashion In Lagos: Why Church Is The Real Runway by eepeepook: 9:53pm On Aug 13, 2025 |
This should be commended. People should present themselves to God in their possible best. Nobody goes job searching in rags, worshipping should be no different. BlueRayDick: Before now white garment churches were free of this churches becoming runway issue ; but nowadays white garment churches have joined.
Now u have white garment churches having vendors who tag themselves "luxury garment vendors" who sell expensive and shinny white garments.
Now the well-to-do and the wannabes run over themselves to buy expensive materials from them to sew expensive white garments. Some of the garments and loin clothes they adorn every Sunday would rival the cost of native materials worn by big men and women in pentecostal churches. |

The daily footballer guy lived his best life. It’s not about what age he died but his quality of life. Many his age and younger must’ve looked years older from abusing their bodies. Jaiye was obese and stressed his heart from an activity he likely participated in forthrightly. Ilekokonit: The man looks like he is in his 50s.
Once person crosses age 40, they must consciously stay away from exercise that is too rigorous as they might just put their heart in jeopardy.
Around 2006, a middle aged member of Country Club Ikeja, Lagos slumped and died playing ordinary table tennis.
A childhood schoolmate also died in Switzerland some years ago. He had been an active footballer in Naija and carried the tradition of daily football abroad. He was in his forties when he died. He went to play his daily football as usual, came back home to rest and told his wife he was not feeling well but he would rest a bit before gong to work. His wife came back home in the evening to meet him dead on the bed where she had left him in the afternoon.
Jaiye Aboderin who was Stella Damasus' first husband slumped and died in 2004 at the age of just 33 during a game of basketball. |

Celebrities › Re: Evan Okoro Cries Out: 'I Want To Quit My Marriage, He’s Threatening Me! by eepeepook: 12:41am On Aug 07, 2025 |
Madam should make her marriage work and leave us alone. That pre-wedding picture is of recent memory. Why issues so soon? She should reconfigure her mindset. There is no room for stinginess in a marriage. Both sides should play their part to keep the union alive. LoloChetaTV: Nollywood actress Evan Okoro has taken to social media to cry out about her troubled marriage to her partner, Chibuzo Erikife, popularly known as "Prince of Dollars."
According to Evan, her husband has been threatening her, saying he would "kpai" (kill) her if she dares to leave him. She revealed that she has already reported the matter to the police and issued a public warning for him to stay away from her.
Evan explained that when Chibuzo came into her life, she believed it was all about love. But over time, she began to realize that he was more interested in her finances than in building a genuine relationship. She made it clear from the beginning that she wasn't the type of woman who gives money to a man. Still, whenever she refused his financial requests, he would ignore her completely, refusing to speak to her or even touch her.
She shared that she had taken the matter to his family, hoping for support or intervention, but all she was told was to “keep begging him” and that he would eventually change. Now, she says she’s tired of begging and emotionally drained.
Evan also disclosed that her bride price was never paid. While Chibuzo brought items listed in the traditional engagement list, the actual bride price remains unpaid. Her father had even told him to come and complete the process, but at this point, Evan says she no longer wants the marriage. She's mentally and emotionally exhausted and just wants out — but her husband's threats are now making her fear for her safety. |
