Wow...congrats. Was the 3m SOA the only account you submitted from your sponsor? If yes? Did you pay your school fees upfront?

Yes that was the only account I submitted, i attached form A receipt for first semester fees though. To be honest, my account was treated specially, made mistakes in the application form and it was overlooked.

@eetti
It is okay to put $52,000CAD as funds available for your stay if his sponsor letters can back that up. Nothing wrong with writing down a higher amount if the financial documents corroborate it. One of the issues he needs to fix is putting at least $10k CAD in addition to tuition.

Edited: @eetti "Funds Available For Your Stay" refers to total funds available for your stay, meaning the amount that will be available to cover "tuition"+"room&board"+"other expenses". The image you posted looks like a form that wasn't properly filled.

In reference to the bold text, I once argued with a Canadian University representative (White guy) about summing up tuition +room and board + others to get funds available for your stay and he refuted. What I finally filled was the image provided.

Having the stated amount in the sponsor's account does nail it, you have to show prove that the sponsor would give you that amount of money, this people don't earn that in a year and you claim that amount of money would be available to you. It sounds fishy.

Lets get something straight.
1) you do not sum anything up to get funds available for your stay .
2) you need at least $10,000 per year to support yourself.
If your school likes let them specify that you need $8,681 for accommodation and feeding. What about books, transport and clothes?
CIC wants you to have $10,000 so you can provide for the 'other' needs.
@graviton you used your own hand to kill yourself you should not have written $52,000 for funds available for your stay.
Do you have $52,000 as pocket money? That section implies the $10,000 and above requirement specified by CIC for all provinces in Canada with the exception of Quebec where the requirement is $12,000 and above.

I sit to be corrected sha...

SOP was not written, Kindly assist in writing a dynamite SOP. Thanks

Whenever you decide to write your SOP for your next application, please explain in detail how you would apply your knowledge in Indigenous Studies on your return to Nigeria. If you cant, kindly get admission for another course. No offence but that course is for their locals except you have a job in the UN.

Good evening House.
Pls I already got an offer letter from my school but yet to pay the tuition. Plz is it advisable for someone to apply for TRV since have not made the payment. Am a youth corper.

CIC advises you to pay at your risk. My advise if the deadline for payment is close and you are yet to receive your TRV, then pay if you are sure you will get your TRV. If the deadline is not close, am assuming you cant be resuming this fall since you are still ayouth corper. In that case you don't have to pay just show source of adequate funds for your stay.

I hope that was helpful

Please don't place this kind of post on here. Canadian VOs (visa officers) or their interns likely read this thread for Naija applicant tricks (US VOs are on Nairaland). A post of this nature further reduces the credibility of other Nigerian applicants so let's keep things on this thread honest. In any case, you should first find someone who can truly sponsor you for at least one year of schooling, otherwise you will suffer in Canada. If you don't have the money, there are other good options -- try the German thread, their embassy only requires 8040Euros in an account, their tuition is free, and they have many post-grad courses in 100% English. Happy Sunday. smiley

Well he can post whatever he wants. The next thing the VO's look at after seeing you have the funds for your study is the account activity. So as to analyze how the account came to such amount.

For online application, should documents be scanned as coloured, black and white or on grey scale?
Please help!!!!

Make it visible, the best option is grey scale. Depending on the quantity of documents you have to upload. If you make all pages coloured, the total file size of your document will be very high. Use grey scale if you will be attaching plenty documents, coloured if you will be attaching few documents.

For more information, click on the "?" button against the file upload button, it contains all the information i just stated plus how to compress your documents with adobe distiller.

A friend of mine just pinged me from canada saying that no more work permit For international student issued Visa from June2015....
She was sounding serious asi was trying to debunk her fallacy.
She cllaimed to have gone to social insurance office in canada, she claimed to be present at an orientation program in her school where it was mentioned....

Wanna know if anyone has heard of that lately..

It is not true.

Thinking about my TRV Application now. I made mistakes, omitted some documents and my SOP was 5 pages. To any VO who read my SOP I'm sure he/she saw my passion so much they gave me almost 3yrs TRV.

I do not believe one thing that you say and I don't know why, I am usually gullible.

Don't mind them, all this is just a way of making money for the airline.... If you are going for a program that is less than a year in duration, please book a return ticket but if you are going for a program that is one year or above in duration, go ahead and get a one leg ticket because every return ticket valid for a year and it also depends on the rules attached to the class and fare..... don't be bothered, nobody will challenge you at the boarding pass desk if you are holding student visa for 1 year....

Some return tickets are cheaper

Thank you very much @ teesboy...
So that leaves me with these.....
*purpose of visit
* length of proposed stay in canada
*family ties in canada and place of residence
Which I find rather laughable cos my admissions letter to go for a pgd program.... evidence of payment for full tuition etc was attached to the application.
I ve been trying to wrap my head around what the vo was thinking......but keep hitting a brick wall...
House pls help out....

Onyeka is this you?
