This issue has been extensively argued on another thread - www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-237883.0.html, and the truth is that there's no "best" antivirus. Depends on your need and use.

Anybody that pays you a dime is a fellow troll of your ilk.
TV/Movies / Re: Wats Ur Worst/best Tv Advert/commercial by Eeyore(m): 12:38pm On May 28, 2010
The worst commercial of all time has got to be the Lonart Malaria tablets own. As if it wasn't bad enough, they had to bring that refugee-like old man at the end to wail "Malaria e don kpafuka oo, malaria e don kpafuka".

Whoever came up with that contraption deserves to face a catapult firing squad.

UniCem is a cement plant in Mfamosing, Akamkpa LGA of Cross River State. its the largest in West Africa, and pays their staff well, one of the best employer of labour in the state. they dont collect 50k from recruitees, so the text is a scam, dont give. they have started production and the plant was commissioned last May.

^^^^ This is a good example why I am an advocate for IQ tests to be administered before people are allowed to post here. Where did anybody mention anything about Workforce or UniCem collecting 50k from anybody?
Romance / Re: Share Ur Val Experience by Eeyore(m): 7:47pm On Feb 15, 2010
Nothing special for yours truly. Spent a better half of the day indoors, surfing the internet. My guy who incidentally, is as girl-friend"less" as moi, turned up later in the evening and we went to a cool joint somewhere in Mafoluku. Cue fresh fish (point & kill) peppersoup, bottles of Heineken, ogling skimpy clad girls looking for valentine mugu and a lot of back-slapping. Resisted the temptation to hook up with the red light district ladies.

Watched Tv alone till the wee hours of the morning before merciful sleep put me out of my misery.

crazily hilarious tho not inspiring

What exactly is hilarious about that crappy piece of work? For real, that has got to be the worst advert ever. I winch whenever they show it. Who ever conceptualized that nonsense should be summarily castrated without anaesthetic.

I see your point. But is totally unreasonable to edit grammer on forum. You seem to have seen loads of errors in the past and present but fail to see sentences that starts with lower casing, unproven short syntactic codes, faulty parallelism, ambigious atributes etc.

Who is paying you to fool your person? I have written more than 30 articles published on BBC, VOA etc and on VOX Africa TV, London, your dull head was found missing in them. Your stony mouth must have caught fire this time. NL modirators must your on your fingers soonest.

I love you, but hate it when you see yourself too special to insult anyone. Seun had helped a lot, for without NL, we wouldn't have taught each other the simple lesson.

Bros, no disrespect, but with grammar like this, I'm not sure which BBC and VOA published your works. Probably Badagry Broadcasting Corporation and Voice of Amansi. grin grin

This is surely cruel and unusual punishment for the atheists, Eddy and Mzamo.

Computers / Help! Vertical Lines Distorting My Laptop Screen by Eeyore(m): 8:42pm On Nov 17, 2009
Please help me out. My laptop screen shakes and quivers so much (like a million vertical lines are racing through it), it's extremely difficult to capture what's on the screen. I'm using one hand to hold the back as I type this to provide some stability. This started three days ago with a number of vertical lines appearing across the screen at the slightest shake.

And it's a fairly new laptop (HP Pavillion 6730). I bought it brand new early this year.

Sports / Nigerian Footballer Sentenced To Flogging In Sudan by Eeyore(m): 12:20pm On Nov 12, 2009
Nigerian star Stephen Worgu, who plays in Sudan, has been convicted of drinking alcohol and has been sentenced to be flogged.

Worgu plays for the Sudanese giants Al Merreikh, who are based in Omdurman in Northern Sudan.

Alcohol is illegal in the Muslim North, though not in the semi-autonomous and largely non-Muslim South.

The punishment on the diminutive attacking player has not yet been carried out, as his lawyer has appealed.

If the appeal is turned down, Worgu will receive 40 lashes and have to pay a fine of 250 Sudanese pounds, about US$100.

Fifty pounds was for drinking alcohol, and 200 pounds for driving while drunk.

The offence apparently took place in August of this year.

Worgu was bought by Al Merreikh for US$2.6m from Enyimba in Nigeria, in one of the biggest transfers in African history.

He had been the top scorer in the 2008 African Champions League, with 13 goals.

However Worgu's form on the pitch since his move has been something of a disappointment.

He was often left on the bench in key African Champions League game this season.

Earlier this year Worgu admitted to the BBC he was struggling to adapt to life in Sudan.

"I am finding it hard to adapt. It's a different culture, different religion different language, everything," he said.

"They have this Sharia law, and it's really affecting me also, because you don't feel free to do the things you need to do."

Despite Worgu's struggles, he still hopes to get a move to Europe.

A source close to Al Merreikh told the BBC he believed several foreign clubs were following Worgu closely.

It is not yet clear if this conviction could delay or even stop a potential move out of Africa for the Nigerian.

Politics / Charles Taylor "duped" By Nigeria by Eeyore(m): 5:45pm On Nov 10, 2009
Former Liberian President Charles Taylor has said he was duped by Nigeria into being arrested there in 2006.

Speaking at his war crimes trial in The Hague, he said Nigeria's then-leader had reneged on a promise to let him leave the country freely.

He also claimed a plot involving the UK and the US led to his indictment.

Mr Taylor is accused of backing rebels, who committed widespread atrocities throughout the 1990s in Liberia's neighbour Sierra Leone.

He was living in exile in Nigeria in 2006 when US pressure to put him on trial for alleged war crimes increased.

Mr Taylor now says the president of Nigeria at the time, Olusegun Obasanjo - who is currently a United Nations peace envoy - told him lies that caused him to be arrested.

The former Liberian leader told the Special Court for Sierra Leone on Tuesday that Mr Obasanjo had earlier assured him he could leave the country freely.

"He lied to the world when he said I was escaping, and he knew nothing about it," he said.

"Why he lied? I don't know, but as a brother and a friend, I think he ought to speak and tell the truth about it."
Mr Taylor's arrest was a dramatic and mysterious affair.

After Mr Obasanjo said Liberia's new government was free to take Mr Taylor into custody, the former Liberian leader suddenly disappeared while Mr Obasanjo was on his way to Washington to meet his US counterpart, George W Bush.

Then, equally suddenly, the Nigerians announced that they had arrested Mr Taylor for trying to escape.

He was captured, allegedly with huge sacks of cash, on the border with Cameroon - some 1,000km (600 miles) from the southern town of Calabar, where he had been living in exile.

Mr Taylor had been given asylum in Nigeria as part of a deal to end Liberia's civil war, though human rights groups accused him of breaking the terms of the deal by continuing to interfere in Liberian politics.

On Tuesday, he said he hoped he would live to look Mr Obasanjo in the face one day and ask him to tell the truth about what happened.

The BBC's Geraldine Coughlan says Mr Taylor appeared defiant on what was the final day of his testimony in The Hague.

He claimed he was a victim of an intelligence plot involving the British and US governments that supplied weapons to the region in an attempt to topple him - as part of a plan by Washington to gain control of West African oil reserves.

The US position was that "we cannot have anyone in Liberia that we don't think is going to dance to our tune", he said.

He also said he was a peace broker and repeated denials that he had supplied arms to Sierra Leone rebels in exchange for blood diamonds.

The prosecution, which will now cross-examine Mr Taylor, says it will challenge the accuracy, truthfulness and completeness of his testimony.
