Politics / Guns Given To Somali Islamic Quiz Winners by Eeyore(m): 6:18pm On Oct 17, 2009
winners of a quiz organised by Somali Islamists have been given weapons and ammunition as prizes.

Prizes included AK-47 assault rifles, hand grenades and an anti-tank mine.

The quiz ran during the holy Muslim month of Ramadan in the port city of Kismayo, and included questions about the Koran and Somali geography.

A representative for the al-Shabab militant group said the quiz aimed to stop young men from wasting their time and focus on defending their territory.

"The reason the young men were rewarded with weapons is to encourage them to participate in the ongoing holy war against the enemies of Allah in Somalia," AFP news agency quoted al-Shabab's Sheikh Abdullahi Alhaq as saying at Friday's prize-giving ceremony.

The winning team, from the city's Farjano district, reportedly won a rifle, two grenades, a landmine and office supplies worth $1,000 (£613).

But the runners-up did not go home empty-handed, taking away an AK-47 and bullets.

Al-Shabab and other Islamist rebels accused of having links to al-Qaeda dominate much of southern and central Somalia, where they have imposed strict Sharia law.

The country last had a functioning central government in 1991.

A weak UN-backed government runs only parts of the capital, Mogadishu.

perusky:

got to d Final stage of their recruitment last year.

then, the test was organised by people Temp (44 Isaac John, GRA-Ikeja).

and it was numeric reasoning & Verbal reasoning and was computer based.

However, before the test, we first had a pre-interview session @ one recruiting agency company on the island. It was the successful candidates from the pre-interview that sat for the computer based test am talking about.

after the computer test was an Assessment Centre and finally a meeting with the head of the unit you applied for.

After everything, only 15 persons were selected.

Regards,

Thanks for the hint. But pray, how many stages do they have before an offer is made to the succesful ones? I just can't believe it is up to 7 different stages. Na UN secretary general they wan recruit?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: BAT Management Trainee Test by Eeyore(m): 12:57pm On Oct 14, 2009
50 or 60 questions in 1 hour. Questions comprising of regular GMAT verbal and quantitative reasonings. The verbal part should have synonyms, antonyms and the like, while the quantitative should have mean, median and other statistical stuffs, then some calculations.

The above or something close.

Good luck y'all.
Religion / Re: What Is Your Opinion About Hell? by Eeyore(m): 12:35pm On Oct 14, 2009
herniec:

It will be a comforting thought to think that hell is a mere concept. If hell does not exit, why make efforts to live life the way God wants? If there is no punishment or reward after death, let's go about satisfying every desire and craving that appeals to us. Hell is not a concept or product of man's imagination. Man does not cease to exist after death; there is life after death. Why should I wait until it is too late for me to live with consciousness that there is hell? Why should any sane soul wait until it is too late to live life as God wants? Thank God for science. But, science is a poor tool for explaining things of God. I like to remember the words of George Washington: "It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible."

Yet some more drivel that doesn't point to an iota of truth or evidence to the existence of a lake of fire where God sadistically roasts people who do not believe in Him.

MIKKYIJEGE:

whether we like it or not, hell i mean hell is real.

Do you have any proof? And please, don't go quoting your religious manual/bible to me.

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, and the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters."
It's an oral history. It was passed down, word-of-mouth, father to son, from Adam to Seth, from Seth to Enos, from Enos to Cainan, for 40 generations, a growing, changing, story, it was handed down, word-of-mouth, father to son. Until Moses finally gets it down on lambskin. But lambskins wear out, and need to be recopied. Copies of copies of copies of copies of copies of copies of copies of an oral history passed down through 40 generations.
From Hebrew it's translated into Arabic, from Arabic to Latin, from Latin to Greek, from Greek to Russian, from Russian to German, from German to an old form of English that you could not read. Through 400 years of evolution of the English language to the book we have today, which is: a translation of a translation of a translation of a translation of a translation of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of an oral history passed down through 40 generations.
You can't put a grocery list through that many translations, copies, and re-telling, and not expect to have some big changes in the dinner menu when the kids make it back from Kroger.

Sorry Abuzola, but you come across as the mugu here for believeing that terrorist manual called quoran. Let me ask, if you can believe that book, or any other book in the same category like the bible, why can't you also believe stories like Snow-white, and them other faity tales??
Religion / Re: What Is Your Opinion About Hell? by Eeyore(m): 2:45pm On Oct 11, 2009
I don't feel obliged to believe that a God said to be ever - loving, benevolent and all that, would send his creation to suffer eternal damnation in a lake of fire just because the person used his God-given sense, intellect and reasoning to decide against believing in an invisible being somewhere in the sky.

And I know that if God loves me only half as much as my mother does, he will not send me to Hell. That is a final fact of my inner consciousness, and for no religion could I deny its truth.

The real problem is that people are outside trying to mend things voting wise, Kevin and Nkenna keep messing it up.

Whats with suddenly wanting to pray loudly and praise the Lord together.

Cant Kevin think for himself? Why join Nkenna? Geraldine would join Nkenna to do anything but Kevin should be wise.

Non naija viewers seeing three of them together in a place praying together about whitches and wizards(Nkenna's idea), cuts a very intimidaiting and alarming image.

They would feel really threatened.

The best thing would have been for them not to be ever seen together.

Abeg , I don tire joo.

FOR REAL

I'm done supporting Nkenna. Zap PATRIOTISM.

If this delusional holy ghost fire works why hasn't it consumed all the corrupt politicans pulling this country back to the stone age despite all the 49 years of fasting and prayers by naija christians?

I guess none of the religious guys can answer that one. More holy ghost fire has been called down in Naija than any other country and look where all the holy inferno has gotten us. Open your eyes, my Nigerian people.
