The Oluwo of Iwo in Osun State, Oba AbdulRasheed Akanbi, has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to site one of the six newly approved Federal Colleges of Education in Iwo.

The Yoruba monarch lamented that his town had, over the years, been marginalised in terms of federal presence.

Oluwo, in a statement he personally signed on Wednesday, urged Buhari to correct the wrong motive by locating a Federal College of Education in Iwo.

The statement read: “As at 1931, Iwo was the fifth largest town in Nigeria behind Ibadan, Kano, Lagos and Ogbomoso. All the others had reaped the benefits of their sizes with infrastructural facilities.

“Regrettably, despite the fact that Iwo is the most populous local government in Osun State, there is no federal institution in the town; a situation which has robbed the town of expected growth among the four named towns.

“It is disheartening watching those towns which were ranked alongside Iwo becoming mega cities with up-to-date amenities provided by the federal and state governments.

“I am not holding it against President Buhari’s administration of just five years. But I am now calling on him to use his good office to site the proposed Federal College of Education here in my town.

“We have land and all other resources that would be needed to ensure the school takes off at the right time.”

The reason for this article is because Christians patronizes this show even more, and it’s very disappointing. Yet on Sundays you will see them praying and singing praises to God in church. This is what is known as *APOSTASY* and *Deception* .

Our children watch these programming of the mind called *THE BIG BROTHER SHOW* . Our parents also watches it. Couples watch it too and spirits are unleashed into our lives and yet we are ignorant of this deception. Masturbation has increased, rape and crimes too, as a result of this programming. This is what the spirit is revealing to the Church, so he that has ear, let him hear. This is an agenda, the guys in that show are already under strong demonic influences by telepathy skillfully dispensed through the big brother’s voice and these contestants themselves cannot even tell. This is why in the book 1984 by George Orwell, the big brother voice speaks to the characters but he himself is not seen.

The people who participates in this *BIG BROTHER SHOW* do not even bother to ask questions like:

Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested two suspected robbers, who hijacked a Taxify Toyota Corolla Sports in Lekki and three others that participated in the selling of the car to a dealer in Republic of Benin for the sum of N250,000.

The suspects: Michael Sosa (27), Nelson Benson (24), Idowu Dauda (30), Owolabi Shobayo, a.k.a Daju pa (29) and Biliaminu Abu, a.k.a Gengen (43) were all arrested in Ijoko and Ota, Ogun State last week for hijacking and selling a Taxify car back in February, 2019.

It was revealed that Sosa, in company of Dosumu, now at large, had sometime in February, 2019 converged in Elegushi Beach, Lekki where they both hatched the plan to hijack a Taxify car, move it to Ogun State to sell. Sosa, a suspected ‘yahoo boy’, after waiting till 10:00 p.m. ordered a Taxify ride from Agungi Estate to Lagos Island.

In the car with him were other suspects, identified as Dosumu and Idowu Samuel.

According to Sosa, “at Abraham Adesanya Estate, Lekki, I told the driver I wanted to ease myself. We alighted, while I pretended to be urinating, Dosumu poured dried pepper he was keeping in a bottle water he bought in traffic. He allowed the substance to dissolve well.

“We got back into the car. The Taxify driver was about to start the car when Dosumu poured the mixture on the driver’s head. Spontaneously, he screamed and jumped out of the car. He started shouting for help. I got on his seat and drove the car away from the scene.

“I drove to the road leading to Alpha Beach, where we stopped for some hours because we suspected we were being followed. At about 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, I proceeded to Agege via Agidingbi, dropping Dosumu in Omole. I picked Nelson Benson in Agege Stadium. Nelson was to direct us through the routes that prevent us from encountering the police on our way to Ijoko”, he stated.

He explained further; “at Ijoko, I took the car to Alfa Mouka’s house. He was my spiritualist. I told him the car was stolen. It was at this point we began to source for buyers. I was introduced to Daju pa and Gengen. The two of them, as I got to know later were dreaded cultists and notorious criminals in the area. Because I was new in the area, I didn’t know them quite well. The area was supposed to be a hide out for my family and I couldn’t confront the duo. I have been warned that I could be shot there. They took the car from me, by this time, they were already scheming and getting difficult to understand. I told them I wanted to sell the car for N300,000.”

Speaking on the development, the Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu stated that criminals who thought they could escape with their nefarious activities perpetrated in Lagos might need to think twice as the command is at alert and would haunt down any criminal in any part of the country.

The suspects have been transferred to SARS for further investigations.

Tonto Dikeh’s ex-BFF, Blessing Osom went all out with a shade post against Bobrisky after the cross-dresser’s birthday party was disrupted by armed policemen.

The shade post came just after Bobrisky called out a car dealer, stating that he no longer wants the car he got him for his birthday party. According to him, “there are some people you don’t deal with because they have bad luck.”

“You are wicked, useless and heartless…..anyone that deal with you is in trouble. I don’t need that car you bought for me anymore I want a refund. Guys stay away from dis dude. Their some people you don’t deal cos they have bad luck. you have bad luck and you have cost me a lot” Bobrisky wrote.

However the car dealer lashed out at Bobrisky, revealing that he told his agent to deliver the car to him just for his birthday party even though he’s been tolerating him. He also revealed that they had a written agreement on keeping the car till the cross-dresser makes the full payment.

He wrote;

bobrisky222 please pay your balance and you get you car re-delivered immediately.

Have been more than nice in condoling your attitudes and still very nice to tell my agent to go ahead and deliver the car to you just so you can use it for your birthday.

My agent had to go to the police station to write series of statements and provide all necessary documents before the car was released to him; as the location it was kept was already sealed up by the police.

Former aviation minister, Fani Kayode has narrated his recent encounter with operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS in Nnewi, Anambra State and how it was all allegedly designed to provoke him to anger.

As I was about to enter the hall to deliver my speech at the Anaedoonline 1st year Anniversary Lecture in Nnewi, Anambra state yesterday my lawyer and a member of my delegation, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, and I were approached by the DSS and told that he must not attend the event.

They said that if he insisted on attending the occassion with me the venue would be sealed up and the entire event would be stopped and not allowed to hold.

They said they had orders from Abuja to stop him from attending because, apart from being my lawyer, he is also the lawyer to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB.

I was shocked. This was a clear case of not just persecution but also guilt by association. I wondered whether being a lawyer to my friend and brother Mazi Nnamdi Kanu or to IPOB was now a crime?

My stomach turned as I listened to the words of the DSS operative. I took a deep breath, restrained myself and kept repeating to myself, “FFK, do not lose that famous temper of yours!”

Had it not been for my love and respect for Chief Innocent Chukwuma, the Chairman of Innoson Motors who hosted me, Anaedoonline, the organisers of the event who invited me, Professor Kingsly Moghalu, the Chairman of the event who is a dear friend and N’digbo generally who are my in-laws, I would have turned back there and then and not graced the occassion with my prescence.

This was coupled with the fact that Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor himself insisted on abiding by their shameful directive in order to save the event. Amidst my protestations he volunteered to stay back and insisted that I still attend the proceedings and go ahead and make my speech.

Apart from that my decision to still go ahead was reinforced by the fact that getting annoyed and turning back or making a scene, which could have had volatile and dangerous consequences, was precsiely what the FG and the DSS wanted.

The whole thing was designed to provoke me to anger and not go on with the show. I saw through that and I was not prepared to give them the pleasure.

Consequently I proceeded to the venue, went ahead with the speech and the full text was livestreamed on both Twitter and Facebook in realtime. Millions of people listened to it from all over the world.

It will also be posted on my twitter handle (@realFFK) and on my Facebook page (Femi Fani-Kayode) later today.

Given all that happened on this occasion I am constrained to ask, why is Buhari so scared of his own shadow?

By their actions the DSS not only violated the civil liberties and human rights of my in-law, lawyer, friend and brother, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, but they also proved that our Government is tyrannical, insidious, cowardly, insensitive and intolerant of opposition and dissent. They just wanted to ruin the whole occassion for no just cause.

What is it that scared them so much about Ejiofor’s prescence? He is a distinguished, responsible, dedicated, loyal, diligent and hardworking lawyer and proud son of Anambra a state and he was one of many that welcomed me to his state with so much enthusiasm, love and joy. Is that a crime? Is the DSS so petty? Do they have nothing better to do?

Worse still their shameful and overzealous behaviour only made them appear to be far more delusional, unreasonable, weak and paranoid than I already believed them to be.

Thankfully their madness changed nothing because the show still went on, I delivered my speech before a warm, friendly and receptive crowd of responsible people in a beautiful and opulent setting and it was a great outing.

Many businessmen, politicians, legislators and leaders of thought were in attendance and the creme de la creme of Nnewi and Anambra were there.

They included the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, numerous members of the State House of Assembly and a representative of the Governor of Anambra state.

I thank Chief Innocent Chukwuma for hosting me in such a lavish manner and I thank Anaedoonline for honoring me by not only asking me to deliver the keynote address but also for awarding me the prestigious ‘Peoples Choice Award’.

Finally I thank my lawyer, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, for being so selfless, for displaying such magnaminity, maturity, restraint and patience and for being so gracious despite the atrocious way in which he was treated by the DSS.

He took it all in his stride and smiled all the way through just for my sake and the sake of the organisers of the event. He is indeed my man of the moment! Thanks

Students of the Benue state University on Monday morning, shut down the campus and barricaded the entrance gates in protest over Comr. Tyonor Smith, President of the National Union of Benue State Student (NUBESS) who was shot in the head by gunmen suspected to be cultists on Sunday night in Makurdi.

The student leader was shot at the gate of the Benue State University College of Health Sciences at about 7.34pm while on his way out of the school. He was rushed to the hospital and is responding to treatment.

Confirming the report, the spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, DSP Catherine Anene, explained that investigation revealed that Smith was involved in campus politics, adding that the students ’ union election was around the corner and that his opponent(s ) might be responsible for the act.

Anene maintained that the command had launched investigations to unravel those who shot the students ’ leader. She added that no arrest had been made.

The protesting students called on state security agencies and the Government leadership to curtail and mediate into the security challenges ravaging the entire Benue State with the current situation of proliferation of guns.

Back in the days when Roman legions marched across the earth and imposed the will of the Emperor on one and all, a concept emerged, first mooted by the prolific consul, Cicero. The concept was simple, “Civis Romanus sum.” That means, “I am a Roman citizen.

Cicero didn’t live to see Rome become an empire, he was killed on the orders of Mark Anthony during the long fallout that followed the assassination of Julius Caesar, an act that although he had not taken part in, he had endorsed. However, his idea of “Civis Romanus sum” was carried forward by the eventual emperor of Rome, Augustus Caesar.

It was that idea that was played upon by the Christian apostle, Paul, a century later. Having arrived in Jerusalem to settle a little brouhaha with the senior apostle James, who was effectively the head of the fledgeling Christian church in Jerusalem, Paul was observed preaching heresy (yes, Christianity was once a heresy) in the temple by some Jews who had come in from Asia. The crowd set upon him and mobbed him before the Roman garrison intervened to stop the burgeoning riot. Unlike Jesus himself two decades earlier, Paul was able to speak in Greek (the operating language of the Roman Empire) to the commander of the garrison and introduce himself as a Jew born in Tarsus (modern-day Turkey for those who are interested), and crucially, end his statement with the words, “Civis Romanus sum.”

While the garrison commander had purchased his citizenship, Paul, was a birthright citizen of Rome, and as a result, if that crowd had killed him that day, the Roman garrison in Jerusalem would have been obliged to kill a few of them in return. Paul had a right to get his case heard by no less a person than the Emperor. He would eventually stand trial before Emperor Nero.

A few millennia later, Rome was no longer in charge of the earth, it was an island, Great Britain, that now ruled the waves. In 1847, a Jewish man, David Pacifico, was attacked by an anti-Semitic mob in Athens, Greece. The police did nothing and instead arrested the victim. But Pacifico had an ace in the hole. He wrote to Edmund Lyons, the British envoy to Greece, and crucially in his letter, inserted the claim, with evidence, that he was a British citizen. That fact, swung the British into action, and it no longer mattered that Pacifico had offended local Greek customs leading to the attack, what mattered was that he was British, and Lord Palmerston, the British Foreign Secretary at the time sent a demand to the Greeks asking compensation for Pacifico. The sum demanded was more than the value of the Greek Royal Palace, and the Greeks replied that this was a judicial affair, and that separation of powers would not permit them to intervene.

Two years passed, and there was still no compensation for Pacifico, so Palmerston instructed the Royal Navy to blockade the port of Athens (ever heard of gunboat diplomacy?). The blockade lasted two months, and in the end, a humiliated Greece agreed to compensate Pacifico to the tune of £500, a prince’s ransom in those days.

In sending the Royal Navy to punish the Greeks, Palmerston quoted Cicero’s “Civis Romanus sum”, and paraphrased it with “An injury to one is an injury to all,” setting the tone for the passport system in use in international relations till this day. When a British (or insert serious country here) passport holder is detained in another country, it matters what not he has done, the diplomats of his home country are duty-bound to defend his interests. If he is convicted and sent to prison, a diplomatic official is sure to take on the role of visiting him in prison, on a regular basis, until he is set free.

Thus it was that following the arrests of more than 50 Nigerian passport holders in the United States on fraud charges, an organisation called the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission released a statement, signed by Abike Dabiri, essentially throwing the alleged fraudsters under the bus. Alleged here, because the US government has not yet proven them guilty in court.

Now, individual Nigerians have every right to wring their hands and wail about how those people have brought shame on us, BUT, the Nigerian state has a duty, an obligation, to provide protection and services for all Nigerian passport holders outside of Nigeria, even those accused of murder. Last I checked, Nigeria has three diplomatic missions in the US, Washington, Atlanta and New York. Has anyone of them made any effort to reach out to these people?

A nation ought to be way beyond claiming the glory of its citizens and descendants when they shine. A nation as a sovereign has a duty to shield its citizens even when they are wrong. Because sometimes, you may find that one person among the arrested, that is actually innocent. By throwing the accused under the bus so quickly and so publicly, the Nigerian state has told every one of us that it will not be there when we need it.

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has called for interventions in the humanitarian needs of over 7, 000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) affected by flood in Borno.

Eric Batonon, NRC’s Director in Nigeria, made the call in a statement issued on Monday in Maiduguri.

Batonon said torrential rain had destroyed makeshift tents and caused severe flooding in the temporary displacement camps in the state in the past one week.

He said the disaster made the vulnerable families homeless and urgent financial assistance was necessary to address the humanitarian needs of the IDPs and prevent outbreak and spread of diseases.

Displaced people are suffering due to relentless rains and wind battering their homes in the last few days.

“Large numbers of families, who fled from conflict months ago, are left homeless while others are forced to share overcrowded tents with neighbours or relatives.

“Over 6, 800 people living in displacement camps in Maiduguri have been impacted by flood in recent weeks.

“In Dikwa, 500 people have been rendered homeless due to flooding and have set up homes in disused registration centres; they are essentially displaced within a displacement camp,” he said.

Batonon said the displaced persons were living in sub-human conditions due to lack of drains and sanitation facilities in most of the camps.

He added that they were being exposed to open defecation due to lack of toilets in camps submerged by water, pointing out that the situation could lead to spread of water-borne diseases.

“Furthermore, heavy rain period present opportunities for armed groups to infiltrate and target displacement camps.

“On Tuesday night, August 20, a female suicide bomber detonated a bomb, killing herself and injuring four civilians in Dikwa.

“This was the first attack of its kind in the area since December 2018,” he stated.

According to him, the United Nations (UN) and partners have appealed for 848 million dollars to address the 2019 humanitarian needs in the northeast.

He said about eight months into the year, less than 40 per cent of the projected fund was received.

A couple in Nnewi, Anambra state is currently being dragged online for brutalising the little girl pictured above, who serves as a maid in their home.

Facebook user, Kelvin Ugochi who shared the photos of the battered girl online, said he saw her at a fuel station in Nnewi yesterday August 25th looking terrified.

A little interrogation and the girl revealed she has been subjected to serious beating from her guardians. Kelvin in his post, said he took her home and to his surprise, the guardians informed him that the little girl deserves more than the maltreatment she has received from them.

I met this little girl today at a fuelling station in nnewi with bruises all over her body,scars from torture melted on this girl by the couple she is staying with.

The poor girl with tears in her eyes narrated the ordeal she is passing through in the hands of her guardian as she was scared of going home as more punishment await her. I have to take her home and approach the couple who felt no remorse as they insist that the girl deserved more

Isoko occupies a hu h space of land south east of Delta State of Nigeria; bounded by Kwale to the North, Urhobos to the West, Ndosimili/Aboh to the East; and the Ijaws to the South. The Isokos are a peaceful people as there are no records or history of conflicts or wars between them and their neighbors in the past.

Their occupation is farming, trading fishing and teaching. They thirst for education and they are progressing in this area. It is a happy note that today Isokos can be found in most of the professions in Nigeria, e.g. Law, Medicine, Engineering, Accounting, Education, Architecture, Survey, Estate Management, Journalism, Teaching, Business Administration, and general business, to name a few. No doubt, if the trend continues it will have a salutary effect on the development of Isoko in no distant future.

The Okene Local government Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Musa Adelabu, who was abducted by some gunmen on Saturday morning is alive, says the state publicity secretary of the party, Bode Ogunmola.

The PRO in a telephone chat with our correspondent on Monday afternoon said nobody had told him the chairman had been killed.

While saying the party was working round the clock to ensure that the man was released hale and hearty, the Ogunmola said the dimension politics in Kogi State had taken lately was frightening and unbelievable.

Adelabu was abducted by gunmen dressed in military uniform who invaded his home and whisked him away at about 1:00 am in the early hours of Saturday.

According to the source, the gunmen numbering five, shot sporadically to scare people away immediately they arrived at the residence, adding that since then, his whereabouts had remained unknown.

The Kogi State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had raised the alarm over the abduction, saying having served as a one-time vice chairman of the local government, if there were reasons to arrest him, an invitation would have been most appropriate rather than adopting him in a commando-style at an unholy hour of the day.

The PDP said it was worrisome that after visits to several security agencies, the whereabouts of their local government area party chairman were still unknown up till Sunday.

President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with family, friends, relations, as well as the diplomatic community over the passing of Dr Biodun Nathaniel Olorunfemi, former Ambassador to Namibia.

A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, in Abuja on Monday, Buhari described the demise of “the re-engineering technocrat” as a great loss to Nigeria.

He noted that the late Olorunfemi had the unique record of successfully turning around many parastatals and businesses that were hitherto underperforming.

The President recalled that Olorunfemi, as Permanent Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory, assembled technocrats to develop a blueprint for the effective administration of the FCT as a Mega City.

He added that the deceased was also credited as one of the brains behind the development of the solid minerals sector in the country.

The late Olorunfemi had served as Ambassador to Namibia from 2012 to 2015, and the President remarked that “he left his footprints in the sands of time.”

Austin Okpe, the ex-husband of Nigerian-born international supermodel, Ojy Okpe, got married to his lover, Elizabeth, in Lagos on Saturday, August 10th.

Austin who is the younger brother of the popular celebrity twins, Nina Agwuna and Muka Nwokedi, separated from Ojy in 2014 after over a decade together.

The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to detain former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Maurice Iwu till Friday August 9th for hearing of his bail application.

Iwu was arraigned before the court this morning by the EFCC on a four-count charge of concealment, fraud and money laundering of N1.2billion.

In the charge sheet filed against the former INEC Chairman, the EFCC alleged that Professor Iwu aided the concealment of the sum of N1, 203,000,000 between December 2014 and March 2015. The said sum was in the bank account of Bio-resources Institute of Nigeria Limited domiciled in the United Bank for Africa, UBA Plc.

When the charges were read to him, Iwu pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Judge, Professor Chuka Obiozor adjourned the case till tomorrow for the hearing of his bail application and ordered his detention in EFCC’s custody.

He was appointed Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission in June 2005, and was removed from office in April 2010.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Yekini Nabena, has asked former President Goodluck Jonathan to beware of making careless statements that are capable of undermining his public image.

Nabena said in an interview with newsmen that the statement credited to the former President regarding the capacity of the APC in Bayelsa state was uncalled for, as the performance of the party in the last general election was there for all to see.

Nabena who is also the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of APC said the former President who he described as ‘a push and start President’ never won any election even in his home state of Bayelsa.

He was reacting to a media report credited to the former President describing the APC in Bayelsa state as a party that lacked political presence at the ward, local government and state levels to win the state governorship election slated for November 16.

According to him, former President Jonathan has never contested any election and won, even that of 2015 he contested as a sitting president he lost woefully, adding that the recent 2019 senatorial election in Bayelsa state APC defeated Jonathan’s candidate in his Senatorial district.

He said: “Jonathan is attempting to rewrite history on presidential elections conducted under his watch in Bayelsa state while he was president. He never won as votes never counted. Aided by security agents, election results were simply announced by the election body in favour of the PDP.

“Former President Goodluck Jonathan even lost in his senatorial zone in the last 2019 National Assembly election won by the APC candidate. So one wonders the party Jonathan refers to as not being on ground in Bayelsa state.”

Nabena accused the PDP and the outgoing Bayelsa state governor Seriake Dickson of plotting to use state security outfit, Operation Doo Akpo, to rig the forthcoming Bayelsa governorship election as was done in the 2019 General Elections.

“The media will recall that under Governor Seriake Dickson’s watch, 63 Smart Card Readers belonging to INEC were stolen and later retrieved. Also, I had earlier called on the Inspector General of Police to proscribe the state-controlled security outfit, Operation Doo Akpo following security reports indicating that the state government was plotting violence by flooding the state with arms ahead of the 2019 polls. That threat is still active as Bayelsa state prepares for the governorship election.

“It is clear that no amount of falsehood and rigging can stop PDP’s imminent defeat in the forthcoming governorship election. The PDP has become very unpopular and stands rejected in Bayelsa state”, he said.
