The story is not far fetched. The IGP single handedly garnered and contributed additional 1 million fictitious votes in Kano when he was the CP then. The killing of the INEC REC in and family in Kano had also remained an unravelled mistry. Romour has it that it was he refusal to absorbed the additional 1 million fictitious votes that resulted to the burning of his house and killing him and his family under police watch. He was however compensated with the IG position no wonder more than 21 AIGs were forcefully retired to make room for his emergence!
