Pardon me sir, while I do understand Wat u re trying to say, I would only proffer one to be a lighter terminal. Calabar port is such that you can't run it on full capacity. For all other options you gave, I do agree with you except for Bonny cos Onne Port is bin expanded nd Port Harcourt is still Der.

There is no reason why we cannot have both.While Lagos state offers the cheapest and most viable options because there is no need for dredging there are a few other sites that could be viable the best are in Ondo and Akwa Ibom as there will be minimal requirement for dredging unlike most locations in Ogun,Delta,Rivers and Bayelsa.
With the Oil and LNG money there is a good case for a seaport in Bonny with Rail link to the main land.This will cost a lot of money but will pay off in the long run
The other challenge is evacuation infrastructure this needs money and planning in terms of roads,rail,warehousing and security having regard for the potential corridors.Certainly there is need for corridors to the NE ,SS,SE and NC zones and so there should be investment in the Ibom seaport but that cannot be divorce from viability i.e will the investment be recouped and how.

One thin people who have never imported fal to realise is that ports are in direct competition with each other and a businessman who is serious has to go with the cheapest option and that is why Nigerias still prefer Lome and Cotonou. Nigerians are the ones that patronize those two ports mostly and if they stopped there would be difficulty . It is hard to see how a Calabar port can be cheaper without government granting major concessions to use that port which would then mean the investment is not recouped.

Why not invest in the Ibom Deep seaport nd let Calabar be a lighter terminal. Just saying.
