adeolaspecial:
Hi guys, please i need your input in this. First of all, i apologize for my lengthy post. I moved into the uk last year april as a student dependent, i started working in may and have been earning a minimum a minimum wage with over time and the littlest i earned is 1900 including over time which enabled me clear my wife's fees and pay some bills added with the little she earned working 20hrs. In the long run she got pregnant and went on maternity leave a month before we welcome our baby in December.

She was on maternity leave, earning maternity pay which supports me while i go full blast working overtime with same earnings not more than 1900. She went back to work in August and now on 37.5hrs full time as she has finished doing her masters.

Now with the responsibility of catering for our child who is now 10months, we had to adjust with our work patterns (Thank God for giving me an understanding manager and hers too) by picking shifts when we like to help us on who stays home with the baby while the other go to work. I had to let go working overtime as i work on days when she's not working and she works on days when I'm not working.

This has really impacted on my earnings and pay as i now earn the basic pay of 1800, and with tax, ni and pension deducted i am left with about 1600 sometimes lower if i don't work night shifts as we earn enhancement working night shifts. My wife is very supportive as we split montly bills, spendings and all ( I know that this should even make it easier as she earns more now) , but the issue is lately the cost of living has gone up, our rent was increased, energy bill has gone up as we had to sometime put on the heater cos of the baby, his feeding, clothing and all his needs.

The bills are choking and i can even hardly save. My wife on the other hand contributes her quota on a 60/40 basis as i contribte the most as the olori ebi even though we earn same salary monthly. I have racked in credit card debts and all. I have had to cut down alot of spendings to adjust ( and that includes me not buying orijin bitters or going out with friends, going to the barber, i cut my hair anyhow i sabi, and some needs....lol). What can i do in this context as i am considering getting a new job that can pay more on same hours, but I don't know if the manager will be as understanding as the current manager i work with.

I need to earn more. I am considering investments, but don't know which or how i can get into one. Its eating me and i had to pour out my heart. I'm sorry for the lengthy write up. By the way, i work as a support worker and my wife as well as she got sponsorship and I'm a dependent. But we just can't do more hours cos of our baby.

I am considering remote works, but concentration is much needed in this and our baby is always seeking attention. How do one cope in this. Is 1600 earning considered good in such situations?
As a dependent that you are. I don’t expect you to work in a social settings that will pay you cheap. If you like being a Support worker, Register as a bank staff in NHS and earn 20 to 22pounds an hour weekly payment. or better still start preparation for CS card or look toward being a Construction worker. z
The earning is temporary, your later or future plan is the most important.
Look into getting more knowledge that can earn you more .
N:B Please look away from your wife earning and contribution for your own peace.

Shalom

ALL 4 BRPs I have ever used in the UK are still in an envelope, under my box.
I am keeping them as a sort of Time capsule in my museum /archive for my future generation.
I am keeping it safe. It’s not in wrong hands.
I’m good to go.
My Old BRP will expire 2027. I guess it best to send it back to them since I don’t need it again .

Thank you

You need to pay for your post. If you don’t, the letter will be held back and the Home Office will be asked to pay the postage fee and also a surcharge in order to collect it. I don’t know what will happen then but I don’t think it’s worth trying to find out.

I’d advise you you go into a post office and they’ll let you know how much it costs. You can also find out how much the fee is and affix the appropriate postage stamps.
Thank you will do that

The past eight months in the UK as been a time of experience and challenge for me.
But Today Alliamdullilah lesson learnt and adapting well into the system .

Employer Successfully switched to NHS full time worker after working under Agency that don’t have shifts to give staff members.

Don’t give up , don’t feel disappointed everything will set, and you will get past the hurdles .

Don't make any move until the new COS is out and they've updated your offer to say full time. What they've done is very shady and you will be the only one to suffer the consequences if things goes south. What's normally done is give you the unconditional offer with the correct details and you start when the COS is available. HR teams within the NHS know how the COS thing works so the fact that they're encouraging you to skirt the rules is quite strange and disturbing. My advice is stick to your current job, wait till the COS becomes available then submit it to them and request and update of the unconditional offer before starting. They're already neck deep, they can't turn you back at the point. All the best.
Thanks for your concern, The COS is out already and I
have put forward my application. The details was before they issued me the COS . I did priority so will be expecting decision from Home office before the start date God willing

Good morning house. Please can someone help. My visa vignette starts from 20th October but my COS work date is 29th nov. Can I travel up to 3 weeks before the start date? Want to spend time at my sister's place and also familiarise myself with the environment before work start. Will this be an issue for me at point of entry? I used my employer's address as arrival address.
Carry on no problem

Thank you.

Coming through an agent cost alot just that its the quick option BUT i have not contacted any agent yet.

Your second answer: please do you know the required age limit the first child must be before a parent can let the child watch over the younger ones? For instance in Canada, the age limit is 13 for some province and 12 for another province.

I would like to take advantage of the tuition free quality education for them oooo. And for the past 3years their dad and and i separated, they have been living with me.
Don’t rely on your first child to look after her siblings here in Uk. She is still not yet up to legal limits . You still need to look after then for considerable number of time and let them be accustomed to the routine .

So far everything is documented and well stated on your offer that it comes with COS, there should be no issue. If any one raises any problem just show evidence where it was clearly stated that the job comes with COS. No body can sly you where everything is stated in ink.
Thanks for your reply , the HR team only sent me a mail as regards working full time when i get the COS.
Yes I think the mail is enough evidence

The latest one I remember was that argument y’all had about people exposing their employer details. You were pro-“name your employer”. I asked you who your employer was. Not only did you not respond, you hid the post.

So there you go cheesy. There are a couple of other ones, but I obviously didn’t commit them to memory.
There was a caught😊
