can someone shed more light on "PRINTED SOLAR STRIPS" It expected to replace the present poly & mono solar panels considering price and performance in low light conditions (including at night) present cost/price is $7 per square meter. market entry is in 18months. can gurus speak on this emerging trend which will soon be embraced by millions of electricity starved worldwide. |

bigrovar: good point sir I was authoritatively informed it can be converted to conventional fridge/freezer but-then what a waste of resources just because of low wattage efficiency. |
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by efuro(m): 9:50am On May 21, 2017 |
Saipro: True talk. I came across this nameless fridge/freezer reading 72w only. But I went back there with A/C watt meter & had a reading of 102w wen compressor kicked.. maybe some enthusiast will check model online for nameplate or http://www.google.com.ng/url?q=http://www.sy-beier.com/Product/3980245831.html&sa=U&ved=0ahUKEwiYs_S9z4DUAhWNalAKHUD3CSsQFggLMAA&sig2=W5p8GZW-GZXyWxDouaRGkA&usg=AFQjCNH1qncdoshfOPMXm9iSanf0LCbPrw

life707: nice reading ur views. I hope dey improve. thank you for believing in nija. we get there sooner than we think. let's buy nija panels instead of Indian or chinko or any other. my next upgrade will revolves round nija (at least 30% local content) imagine Australia has 1.2m households using solar, Nigeria can do better with local content. cheers. 3 Likes |

sensisosu: some installers can be frustrating. they make people hate solar after huge investment. and again some customers may claim too wise resulting to " penny wise pound foolish" and not agree with professional advise. which ever, I commend ur determination in making ur solar do-able rather enjoyable. ur burning desire to perfect ur setup is making u overlook simple but crucial questions put to you on the thread. go back read them point by point & provide ur observation as they are, don't coverup mistakes we all make mistakes. before gurus loose interest in attending to u. we have tens & tens of gurus reading & not commenting, maybe u will have their sympathy to redeem ur setup. in the meantime ur on the right path to R/E. 1 Like |

earthrealm: tx bro you're right my watt meters are rated 13amps but I have practically pushed over 15amps tru one of dem without problems. I advice u immediately change follow-come ba3 wen u get a new one. surprisingly, standards are abused in Nigerian market. I have tested those LED bulbs and found that they are NOT tru. they are fraudulently rated. 3w is actually 5.5w & dat 7 watt is close to 12w. so bare in mind these erroneous or misleading information on LEDs in d market. cheers! 2 Likes

earthrealm: I have painfully observed recent discus regarding kiekie1 it is good to raise & settle issues here. I subjectively think the fullriver ba3 @ 50k be laid to rest. Have had customer-seller relation wit Sir Frankie almost on monthly basis & he delivers as per agreement. with cash deposits to him, i have not heard issues of fraud or 419 case. if prices are not mutually ok, trade cannot occur , it does not mean one should paint one bad when the market is flooded with alternatives. please let's by-gone be gone, and not post childish talk anymore and build cooperation across Nigeria through solar. 3 Likes |

can someone study my installation & advice me. in a bit to cut out MATE 2 & monitor my setup, the wiring is getting scaring and a kind of substation. I need advice on how to tidy it up professionally. I have 2 AC watt meter for monitoring consumption from inverter. the 2 AC watt meters runs my flat on two separate wiring; one to my DB for the whole house & d 2nd for basic load of LEDs, LCD+decorder, Rechargeable fans. also, My DC meters ( thanks to oga JUO) monitors my batteries readings/current drawn from them and the other monitors my PV performance against CC Readings I am kind of worried it is not professional. any advice please?

sensisosu: old boy you have an enviable solar setup! I know some members will fume being too quick to offer my chip of little advice or help. just imagine, national grid has dipped low again, imagine again the built up anger with non solar users. As solar enthusiast & DIY, i know solar-is-able therefore it is my joy to offer my piece of advice within the limit of my experience, of course it may be considered not optimal showing reasons for other DIY to learn. so Oga sensisosu, what i garnered from previous discus on flooded ba3 particularly Trojan, I don't think you have a serious problem. I believe that ba3 has caused ur bank to drain too quickly because itself has not been properly charged by inverter or panels. so consider doing limited load & equalization charge of 15.5v for about four hours for about a week am sure u will see signs of recovery. on your panels not receiving enough sunlight. I discovered I am guilty of same during installation of my setup too by schematicaly laying Panels vertically instead of horizontally. laying horizontally extends surface area to more sun while it travels from east to west. like guru dmerciful & other mentioned. the angle of elevation can also work wonders. I submit that you don't tamper with ur sulkam please. thanks |

Of couse, ur 20A breaker is sufficient and will even protect or CC. Mathmatically maximum for ur setup would be around 16.66A @ 2x2 remember it a 200w PV A =200W/24V =8.33A. Also imagine extra amps your CC will have to convert from excess voltage in addition to 16.66A My point is that if I were u. I will opt for higher rating to allow me expand along with it. Solar is addictive , you will soon find out that u need more panels etc. Cheers! therealMcCain: |

@ McCain I find Addresses to ur questions appropriate within the limit if my DIY. I don't do solar installation for a living, all my contributions to the forum is purely what I gained from the house/forum & personal DIY efforts expressing that solar is do able. I USE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO THANK ALL MEMBERS IN HOUSE in making sure R/E get roots Nigeria. I say thank you all sellers in the house for honest services. Many of whom I had dealings with and many more I will contact for their services. Now Oga RealMcCain I am happy u've chosen ur balcony after putting necessary measures in place. 2x2, 20amps (well maybe 4 now daz wot u want), 16mm are splendid. Also ur ba3 @ rest 13v is nice. About 2 AH indicated by cc means ur ba3 are floating & do not need to draw more harvest from ur PVs. On ur inverter, I think it is back feeding itself due to ur faulty sockets. Remember u said it comes on wen switched off if u slightly insert loads. But a crude way to check of ur inverter is not back feeding is to remove output loads to ur DB & connect sometin like frezer to the back of the inverter for about 20mins, observe its performance & beeping. Ur will know if back feeding as affected it or a factory defect. Don't u have appropraite breakers to cut off back feeding before being detected by ur inverter ? Anyway I appeal to gurus in the house with similar teething problems to contribute. Cheers! Solar rules. |

earthrealm: At least, so says the watt meter & CC readings. Always 0.5v difference. The ba3 are wired @ 24v series x 3 parallels. No special loop to equalise the three 12v nodes. |

JUO: 10mm On the manual of the inverter, Indians claimed it has double coil transformer. I wonder if it is true. But I trust it to charge my 6 100A batteries as it has not failed me with its manual settings for ba3 type & normal or high amps charging. Sorry about pix quality of cable as I have to bend down under d ba3
