aroseyi: How is it related here! Do these boxes have inbuilt solar cells & battery? I beg this place is renewable forum not junk room. |

Obimind1: it happens on few occasions don't worry! I use fangpusun 60A MPPT I got from Oga Chris.' initially I love it and kept wondering it is so powerful that it tracks energy from the moon and stars @10w at 0.4 - 0.5 amps and 1-2AH over night. but now I feel it is not worth it so I let my mppt sleeps even when "it feels" it still want to work at night. fangpusun 60A MPPT has a program restart solutions at various point to solve this situation and put it to sleep. if your CC has program re-set, run it in order to sweep or track MPP (in this case it will find non and sleep) OR if you have a DC breaker in-btw you PV & CC trigger it off and later on. worst put off / on the DC breaker btw the battery and CC | am double sure this will reboot ur CC to cancel the problem. However I feel leaving ur CC on will not damage it unless someone has a different view-point My regards! |

chris81964: am happy you did not slam the door of experience on everyone. In fact you are truly a doctor of solar. doctors admit, treat and get paid bad installations always tarnish image of solar addicts and lead to lower adherents. your decision is splendid !!! 2 Likes 1 Share |

kiekie1: Nice work Oga Kiekie1 thanks for the update on Oga Chris observation and bigger thanks to naira that has just woken up from almost a year in Coma & heavily sedated by CBN you'll hear from me @ appropriate time even if it means selling one of my split AC going green is a commitment and do-able affair. 1 Like |

dapsyra: hummmmmmmmmmmm am speechless! NEPA will really hate you ! and may soon bribe you with 'Ghana Must Come' bags to stop opening peoples eye to free sun energy. imagine, see your 15.9 KwH x Nepa rate = (thousands of naira/day) x months or (years of going green) - (initial expenses)= nice one & good savings! me i still dey 3.4KWH/day Sha! 1 Like |

mcci: you did not specify if panels are mixed that is poly mixed with mono. i assume you are using poly panels please go with config 1. with ur MPPT ur CC will probably pick the lowest values (i.e. Vmp=30.1, Imp=8.31, Isc=8.71, Voc=36.4 instead of Vmp=31.4, Imp=8.37, Isc=8.94, Voc=38.4) at that rate you are granted of harvesting steady wattage for longer time particularly during raining season. @48V battery bank you need all the panels. nice effort too. |

chikkaobi: Are u using hybrid inverter? Pls love ur CC. A good CC will save u huge money eventually. left to me just ground Dat ur cc casing with d bus bar for grounding in ur setup. Don't ascribe to + or - earthing till u have funds for dc arrestor Explore other options from guru pls. |

cooldipo: Yes! under STC Max Pv input power is 390watt(12volts) 780watt(24volts) falls true for your CC but will you always get those parameters harvested from your roof top? Yes! you stand the risk of blowing up ur cc with the extra/over current that is where you need learn from experience of gurus in the house. for me, you can always tweak by re-configuration of your PV with installation of extra one PV having a slightly lower specs somewhere in your Series & parallel. But observe the 145v / 30A thresholds. |

bigrovar: for sharing your experience, i say thank you ! i love your Tubular batteries too i wish recession should just go to purchase some too. the distance btw battery bank & CC + battery loop seems too long, but you seem to have solve energy loss using rated cables. Nice too! i admire your monitoring meter and its basic installation. it re-buttress what konnection said earlier that we are like hawks watching over our power solutions. I am not comfortable with your cables hanging or dangling from your PVs. I hope you don't have domestic goats around your place or else they may practice "head butt" with it or use horn to test their stamina to impress she-goats. 2 Likes |

goddyior24: am sure you are referring to the following specs Specification Summary System Voltage 12 / 24VDC Rated Battery Current 20A Rated Load Current 20A Max. PV Input Voltage** Tracer-2210RN 100VDC Tracer-2215RN 150VDC Max. PV Input Power 12V System 260W 24V System 520W *Array voltage should never exceed maximum PV input voltage. Refer to the solar module if you read further on the manual you also find "If the solar input current exceeds the maximum rating, the array will be disconnected automatically". what stops you from configuring your panels on hot sunny day to get the upper limit since it has auto shutdown. let us have your test results when you can carry it out.

goddyior24: Is that what the manual says? why not consult properly from dealers before buying items. most solar enthusiast here will gladly offer you good -free advice without consultancy fee. mind you 20A mppt cc cannot have upper limit of 260w please do your sizing properly to enjoy your sweat otherwise you will think "solar thing" dont work . 1 Like |

bigrovar: hmmmmmmmmmm Voltage (v) versus Current (amp) lower voltage => lower heat more amps (mppt, pwm) higher voltage => higher heat greater amps (mppt) having battery-cable distance in view. hmmmm true talk! |

juliustip:i feel ur pain, batteries aren't cheap. to my view, i believe batteries just don't die without a fight, i believe batteries are constantly under-charged, you need to add more panels Also work on your loads or double your present battery bank to considerably extend their years of usage. Living off grid is a good thing. pls make sure you add more panel before acquiring new set of batteries. you will eventually smile. |

Jean2: Can it be true that the strength of home solar applications is directly d strength of batteries? My advocacy on AE has always been bedeviled with opinion that solar don't last and see no reason why they should fall in love with it as we do. We need to prove to Nigerians that solar works and works well & remains d lifeline of electricity to millions of homes. I salute the courage & works of great men here. It inspires millions to take their lives in their hands. |

GeorgeD1: Oga GeorgeD1 thank you for your innovative intuition the forum is getting too boring that is why i try to introduce issues on equalization of different batteries few days ago. i still find your discovery hard to believe, it's like a bitter pill. May be the ariston is on standby mode. pls fire it up untill the thermostat switches it off and re-run/test your values. am anxiously waiting to hear your results. 1 Like |

Good day House can anyone tell me or link me with site showing standard days for equalization for SLA, FLA, AGM batteries i observed AE enthusiast set equalization to 28 days, some to 32 days. i set mine to 14 days or having BLS negates equalization of batteries ? am kind of confused. thanks ! |
