DMerciful: Seems flooded battery longevity is overrated . for goodness sake how can you off your inverter when there is no light ? to stay in darkness? In truth we need focus in this area as the cost of going green is comparatively being threatened by battery replacement. Lithium battery LiFeO4 may be the way forward! True talk No amount of pampering Batteries don't outlive their span particularly ones available locally. I fear for the quality of Li-fePo when it becomes locally available. |

DMerciful: The Sun is towards the southern hemisphere now so due to the angle of inclination you're getting a cos¢P where ¢ is the angle of inclination and P is the panel total capacity. That's why commercial solar systems are mounted on single or dual axis trackers for max harvest. No wonder. Am sure ur right some times I feel like motorizing it with jack pole/positioner to increase hrs of exposure. Thanks. |

makawhy201: To God be the glory, i joined the league of evergreen family, with the inspiration of the Great GeorgeD1 frm page 1 till date, the knowledge shared from all the gurus in the house. My sincere appreciation goes to d great of the great Dmerciful for his encouragement, advice and 100% support day and night from the day 1 of planning, procurement and execution of the project.
I managed to purchase 4pcs of 200w of sunshine panels, imported my itracer 60a, MT50, watt meter, circuit breaker, surge protector and desulfator one after the other as cash flows. i have existing 2kva bluegate inverter, 2pcs of 100ah batteries.
When i cudnt afford the cost of installer with customise roof rack and disappointment frm another cheaper installer, i summoned courage to DIY the solar installation, to God be the glory i successfully mount it on the roof myself with the support of my frnd electrician. I upload the pictures of my setup. Thanks u all. Welcome to 24hrs of electricity. Am happy you took a leap of faith & defeated the bull by its horn! Wishing you well |

dicksonadams: Quick question guys, I noticed that my harvest has reduced.
My solar watt is 420watt but all I get is 140watt. Could this be due to bad weather? I have already clean the dust on the panel still same thing. Before I use to get up to 220watt around July August Hazy weather/harmattan dust. Don't worry it is all over. Just cut down load on ur ba3 & u'll be ok |

Nb: completed the installation when the Sun was almost set hence the low harvest however this is lovely Koooool I feel my set up is still in primary school dat wifi seem to be university level. tivta: Most of them are transformer less. There by eliminating heat, the sunny island inverters are the best but unfortunately also very expensive. I respect ur views alot. as my contribution to making discuss rich. I decided to investigate my microtek 1600w inverter if it transformer-less & with fan or not. ( this what I find) it is serving me well with PWM grid charging function, overload protection, low voltage stabilizer, low/High current settings etc. I think microtek inverter is not bad at all

Papishi: Good morning house. I got an installer in my area, we agreed on installing a 130W pvc, 100AH solar battery, 5 DC bulbs. But the amusing stuff was that he said we don't need charge controllers. He also advised I use my Famcare inverter instead of sticking my plan of going DC. I need an advice house cos I don't wanna go for what I may regret. NB: I have a plan of upgrading ma panels and maybe batteries next year. you seems better informed than to put ur investment in the hands of ur installer. who knows he may soon tell u reversing polarity can revive any dead ba3. pls let him show installation references he did to merit being ur installer. shine your eyes! u have men of experience here who are always willing to see u tru. pasting ur pix can help ur case alot. welcome to world solar family. |

DMerciful: sometimes if panels are installed such that there is internal stress(surface not level) coupled with sun intensity overtime or no room for expansion cos of solid bolting, they may crack oga Dmerciful & life707 thanks well I just believe got one with factory defect. i got d poly panel @ 55k with similar ones going for 37k at that time, thinking it was superior. u have a good point regarding expansion under hot sun. am planning to donate it to engineering students at a nearby polytechnic for their study who knows it may inspire some minds. Konnektions146: Sometimes we need to watch how we talk, did you buy India Tata solar panels from solar depot Nigeria?
Has India now become China?
What you pay is what you get
The biggest solar company in the world is Chinese so you need to learn how things work and get the right information
People like you ask for quality and expect to buy them with your peanut
Solar Depot has a name and reputation, not had issues since buying from dem and I don't think if u have any issues with products they market, they cannot amicably resolve it with you.
NB: I have no personal interest in solar depot Nigeria, I am not related to OgunMoses and has never met him face to face.
Just a satisfied and realistic customer , also a Solar power system trader good talk my brother, I just requested for panel test results so dat we be better educated about the product. If seller fumes when results are requested it means the product could be sub standard. mind you requesting for domesticated test figures do not mean disputing goodwill of anyone or business. if I request ur installation / configuration pix from you does dat mean am putting u to disrepute? |

please i need your recommendation on a good brand of rechargeable fan to use of inverter. The ones i have be buying fails under 6 months probably they are fake.
One love. u've been helpful to almost everyone. my suggestion is to get dis type of fan. mine is ugly but does it's job. it 4yrs counting. the ba3 are long gone (9 months to it purchase) and it's of no load to inverter cos it's 35w with 15v DC adaptor.

dicksonadams: Chai my solar is suffering me now... Let me explain:
I stop charging my inverter with Nepa for almost a month now and I noticed since a week ago now the battery now run down quick. I might go to work and when I get back the inverter might only last 30 nins or less.
I use just a single 200ah battery and two 80 watt connect in series and 2 130watt connect in series and both now connected in series to my fangpuson cc.
Do charger with only solar destroy a battery?
Dmerciful and other guru please have mercy on me oh Direct ur question to Dr. Solar (chris81964). dis is what he handles on daily basis. I hope he has enough time to chip-in few words for u. from ur piece u are not using flooded ba3 thus it is easy to sense ur ba3 is getting to its old age. at dis stage no matter d care u give it is not worth it.. I agree wit cleaning ur pv. if ur PV are accessible, y not reconfigure it to give more amps to ur ba3 (if ur using PWM). am wit u my brother, most of us fear ba3 wahala b/cos of dis terminal date. well let me stop my dance & allow more skillful dancers to take stage. |

I did not regret buying one. pls go for FM 60. I respect itracer but I stick to fangpusun 60. you can thank me later.
