FarmTech. Let us be clear here. The birds were given Lasota orally about 3 times & subsequently injected with Komorov at 16 weeks, after which they have been orally vaccinated at least once a month. The issue now is that the efficacy of the oral (Lasota) vaccination has dropped since advent of the heat stress. The question here is; "what are the pros & cons of injecting birds who are already laying with Komorov in this hot weather given that oral vaccination isn't producing the desired result?" |
OP. Your line about if that is the way the opposition plans to defeat the incumbent just reveals your level of exposure (no pun intended, please). Random phone calls are part of campaign tools in advanced democracy. Indeed, such is very important cos it allows various political parties to gauge how well their messages are being received & also take feedback from the electorates. |
Globaby01. The email address is eniitanemmanuel@yahoo.com. Meanwhile, sorry about the incident with the rain. I believe they are old enough to survive, though you may need to increase the intensity of the heat supplied. Finally & most important, ENSURE YOU REPLACE THE LITTER TONIGHT. Success |
Globaby01. vaccines are in doses. each bottle has the dosage written on it; 200 & 1000. the dosage you use is dependent on the number of birds you have. you use 200 for a flock of less than/equal to 200, etc. You may check the paper on the bottle if you have not thrown it away. I'll advise you carry a more experienced person along for a while to avoid vaccine failure. Success |
justified19. Kindly give better details. What other symptoms/anomalies have you noticed? |
Globaby01. A 9 days old chick should still be in brood. Keep your birds for few days more. I wouldn't know if you got vaccination schedule from the hatchery you got your birds. If yes, follow the instructions. If no, I'll advise you give gumboro & lasota vaccines to your birds within their first 28 - 30 days leaving a minimum of 10 days between each vaccine. Since there are only 45 birds, 200 dose vaccine should be ok. Success. |
much info on poultry (biz) is available in the agriculture section. success |
I was in a meeting addressed by a Catholic priest & I noticed he was wearing a ring on the second finger of his left hand. That set me thinking & questioning what I thought I know about Catholic traditions. What I heard growing up was that Catholic priests don't get married. So why the ring? Or is it done to symbolize being married to Jesus Christ in which case they are opened to being tagged "gays"? Or are some married contrary to what I grew up hearing? Let those with valid information clarify things for me, please. |
I love his music; so original. Good to see him back. |
Incredible! |
House. What are the pros & cons of administering Komorov injectible vaccine as against Lasota Oral vaccine on birds in lay? Won't the stress be too much to the point of affecting laying performance in the long term? The oral vaccine appears to be less potent cos of the heat stress. Opinions, pleaseFor complete protection against NCD, you must give lasota several times at first and then inject with komorov. It's a must. If you have had bad experience with injecting komorov before, it is due to some other reasons you don't know about. Injectable vaccines are effective only after the oral ones has been given. |
barcanista. Yes; there is no constitutional provisions for Office of The First Lady. However, we can't deny the fact that women who have assumed that title since the regime of IBB have played significant roles in our national consciousness & will continue to do so. It'll be naive to think that a woman will see her husband directing affairs of a nation without seeking to make inputs, significant ones at that. Apart from the expected hilarity of seeing Patience Jonathan in a televised live debate, it will also afford us opportunity of knowing the mind of the most powerful influence on the nation's Number 1 citizen. |
Let us look at it from this angle. There is a saying that "iron sharpens iron as a man sharpens the countenance of his friend". In other words, your level of mental sharpness is determined by the person(s) you spend most time with. It means if Patience/Aisha isn't intelligent enough, it will rub off on the husband with attendant implications on the nation. Therefore, a televised debate involving better halves of the Presidential hopefuls should be given due attention. What Do You Think? |
Given that postponement of elections has given us more time to prepare and taking into cognizance importance of the "First Ladies" in Nigeria's political administration, especially their inputs into any policies affecting the female gender who form about 55% of the voting population, I think it won't be a bad idea if we have a televised debate among wives of all the candidates (the KOWA Party candidate, who happens to be the only female contesting can join in). What do you think? (I ain't joking here). |
segun1976. I saw this relevant advert as per your request for "gift" crates: TOFGLOBAL CONCEPT LTD. 38A Adeniji Str., Abisogun Leigh Estate, beside AY Hotel, Ogba GRA, Lagos. 07080541159, 08023081596 Meanwhile, I used to buy similar crates at #80 each from a vet store at Akure, Ondo State. I suspect you can get them at cheaper prices from the above. Success |
Op. You made an important point by saying a President is as good as the people he works with. However, it is also worthy of note that a team's performance is also dependent on who leads it. Example; Ngozi Okonjo Iweala under OBJ & the same person under GEJ. Meanwhile, with all sense of responsibility, I wish to submit that APC has men with better leadership qualities than the PDP. |
fishleg123. You may go ahead. It isn't late, please. Success. |
fishleg123. You may go ahead, please |
Switpal. With all due respect, I think the "GEJ till 2019" is most inappropriate here. Agreed, we all passionately support one candidate or another. However, when steps are being taken capable of negatively affecting the nation, then we should all speak up against such. We have had many Heads of State in Nigeria. The only constant is our country which deserves our allegiance. |
segun1976. what type of information do you need? be explicit & specific, please |
fishleg123. I'll suggest you wait till they are at least 6 weeks old. Success. |
samuel25. the birds have developed tendency to brood. you have to discourage the birds by picking the eggs almost as soon as they are laid. otherwise, the birds will stop laying. success |
Elections will go ahead as scheduled. Prof Jega should not allow desperate politicians & compromised security operatives to make a mockery of his long-standing clean reputation. |
Government is yet to give us a valid reason why the election should be postponed. 33 of the 36 states are relatively safe; INEC has made PVCs of all registered voters available (it isn't INEC's fault that some have refused to collect theirs); & there is no natural disaster. The elections should be held so the rising tension can go down. |
Desperation! |
Adminisher. Some intelligent analysis you have here. However, I could see what the OP is saying in that whatever projections one make should be based on what has been on ground. No doubt, results of the 2011 elections were compromised in the SS & SE. While, APC is significantly stronger in Rivers & Edo States, nothing has changed in the remaining 9 states to significantly alter outcome of the election. Therefore, I think SW (and to some extent NC) remains the key area. That 3 states in the NE may not be involved could just swing the overall outcome in favour of the incumbent. |
hmmm. a largely fair analysis. however, GEJ won't lose up to 40% of his 2011 supporters solely to Buhari. I'll say about 25% of those who voted for him in 2011 (especially in South West) will vote for GMB now, while 15% of same won't be voting. On the other hand, you didn't factor first time voters into your projection. Their choices may prove significant. |
Ehijeremiah. Yes. If the election were conducted last Saturday, GMB would have won convincingly. However, it seems PDP has succeeded in turning the table. And that is the more reason I'm curious as to why the Presidency is still scheming to have the election postponed. |
Zoharariel. You haven't given a reason for supporting either of the candidates. |
KwoiZabo. Nice one. You have got some valid points there. Wish majority of Nigerians are like you. |
