I quite agree with you that it is morally wrong to raise so much money, even as pledges given our not-fully recovered socio-economic challenges.
However as the OP argued there may be nothing LEGALLY wrong with the PLEDGES made.

Perhaps the OP may wish to change the title of the thread to read-

- Nothing LEGALLY wrong.........

We should learn to separate emotions from cold, hard facts & informed discussions (as I nor wan use arguements) grin
So you are blindly telling us nothing illegal in the donation as well? shocked shocked shocked

Chisos! Why did you allow Jonathan to take away your brain? What a shame.
Politics › Re: Nothing Wrong With Jonathan's 21 Billion Pledge by egift(m):
Hence, what amounts to a violation of the law is when the expenses incurred exceeds 1billion naira and not when they generate in excess.
So this man is saying, they donated 21 billion naira - so that Jonathan can spend only 1 billion as provided for by the law and squander or refund 20 billion naira?

See corrupt logic. For me, this man is angling for his own slice of the money. What a shame.

there is no appropriation for the office of first lady in Nigeria.
She gains her power and support from the support of the general public.
stop hating!

@Bold:
Tit not just that you lie, but that you Jonathan supporter do it insulting the sensibilities of every Nigeria all the time. In 2013 alone, Jonathan allocated 4 billion naira to that illegal office.

Uproar over N4bn Budget for First Lady’s Office
There was anger on the floor of the Senate Thursday when the chamber opened the debate on the 2013 budget for Federal Capital Territory (FCT), which contained a whopping N4 billion allocated to the construction of an office for the First Lady.

Neither the wife of a serving president who serves as first lady, nor her office, is accorded any form of recognition in the 1999 Constitution, which makes the N4 billion allocation illegal.

Politics › Re: Patience Jonathan Technically Tackles Buhari's 'no First Lady' Policy by egift(m): 11:52pm On Dec 26, 2014
As always, it is people who are afraid of loosing their illegal power and wealth that are always quick to campaign against Buhari. So till now PEJ has not realized that the tag "Office Of The First Lady Of Nigeria" is illegal?

The wife of the President can pursue any humanitarian initiative she likes. In the US, Obama's wife is preoccupied with fighting "Child Obesity", "Welfare for Veterans", etc.

Mrs. Patience shamelessly parading herself as a Godmother, Kingmaker, Determining FG Policies, Summoning National Security meeting at will - elevating her illegal and fictitious office even higher than that of the Vice President and almost equal to the President - is totally unacceptable.

Also the APC masterstroke of getting 5 Governorship seats, House members, Senators, etc - without any electioneering and PDP's inability to upturn it gives me a lot of confidence and proves Nigerians still have a chance to redemption.

To know how it feels, try adding APC having the Speaker of Nigeria's House of Reps (without any election) and the PDP running around incoherently, unable to coordinate a sensible response and even staging the IG of Police to take the fall.
Politics › When Did You Realize APC Will Succeed? by egift(op): 10:20pm On Dec 26, 2014
At what point did you realize and got convinced that the All Progressive Congress (APC) will succeed in rallying majority of Nigerians for Change.

Although I had always hope for a positive Change in Nigeria - but the very day the APC refused to forfeit their acronym to some PDP sponsored dubious new party registration with the same abbreviation. That was the day I agreed that those heading the APC project understand the seriousness it deserved. Since then it has been from One victory to Another.

Because every GMB supporter operates with 10 handles

Take a look at the profile of most GMB supporters, they all registered in 2014.

Some use some of their handles only for liking in order to influence opinion polls. They don't post with them so they don't get caught out.

They are fooling themselves because the only poll that counts is the real life poll on February 14.
Mazi Mike, if you are lying, please just take it easy. It is this blatant insult to the sensibilities of we Nigerian by PDP agents that is solidifying the quest to send the Zoologist Home.

Keep lying but take it easy. God bless you.

Nigerians should unite and vote out Jonathan. If not there very terrible plans in the pipeline that will increase hardship (Electricity tariff, increase in fuel price, falling naira value, depreciated foreign reserve, massive corruption in government, hording of essential commodities, high inflation, etc).

It will take a quality leadership to make Nigeria great again. #Change

The commission which however admitted that it had the power to prosecute violators of the Act, explained that before it could do so, it must have concrete evidence before it.
INEC should be very ashamed of themselves for the Bold. So people announcing the donation themselves is not concrete enough? Am sure if it was APC, all hell in their coven will be let loose.

I guess like the Nigerian Police Force, they too are not aware. The Hypocrisy that is presided over by Jonathan is alarming.

You are very wrong in your assertion. Under Jonathan:

- Our economy is still not adequately diversified.
- Massive corruption everywhere.
- Criminals in government are not prosecuted as long as the agree to keep saying GEJ till.....whatever, they can keep their loots.
- Sponsors of terror are dinning with the Presidency.
- No strategic and vibrant policy and programme in play. We are just on Auto-pilot and massive spending.
- Over 15000 are dead and no hope in sight.
- Government sponsored division, blackmail and character-assassinations is the order of the day.
- All anti-graft agencies are dead under Jonathan (EFCC, ICPC, etc).
- Most Agencies of government are moribund and inactive.
- And many more.

We need change. As a Nigerian, I want Buhari to be elected so that when some politicians are being prosecuted in court, they will be exposing each other, the government will recover stolen wealth and corruption will reduce. I don't want Jonathan to be there and be covering all the Massive corruption with Federal Muscle.

I wish to address this concern that some folks have been insinuating to confuse Nigerians. Below is a comment I stumbled upon before this topic from F22RAPTOR:

F22RAPTOR:
yes we need change but not buhari...dude will take us back unto the road to perdition. he'll take us back to the stone age
1. He agree we need Change, because Jonathan has lived below expectation of many Nigerians.
2. When Jonathan has damaged this nation this badly and divided, the first thing to do is vote him out.
3. Then elect someone who has a proven integrity, the zeal and courage to do what is right, help solve our problems and vigorously pursue development of Nigeria/Nigerians. That is Buhari - The most viable best alternative.

And for the fears on returning to stone age, it is very wrong wrong - This the 21st Century, what is available now is what will be used to solve our present problems. For instance was there Youtube in 1983? Has Buhari not utilized it as a tool of communication today?

Buhari will tackle the challenges of the 21st Century Nigeria with the 21st Century Solutions. Getting older does not make one silly. Experience is the best teacher and the GMB/PYO ticket has all the features that is required to meet the challenges of Nigeria today.

To be frank, those elites and their agents campaigning against Buhari are just scared that their evil and horrible crimes may be brought to light if Buhari is elected. Please reasonable Nigerians like yourself should not avail yourself as a tool to frustrate Nigeria's quest for responsible and quality leadership.
