Alarmist, am sure you did not bother for details. Though I don't have much to say on it because it a legal issue - for the sake of others, I wish to state that its a result of the present Governor saking Council chairmen that were elected during the last Governor. I should also state that the were elected under INEC and not appointed by the Governor.

The court need to rectify it. @ Poster, kindly provide details next time. More at http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art20101103434212

Major problem in Nigeria is very slow way of implementing thing - all this should have been well stated. Well since its up, the Anthony General, NBA and supreme court should rectify this immediately.

Really I did like to see how guys guys cry. In 2015 its Ndigbo or Nothing. This spin won't work. If you have issues with OBJ - you need to visit on farmer in Ota, Ogui State - he may be the only guy to straighten you out.

Also I will like to add that our brothers in Niger Delta will gain more seeking a constitutional amendment to gain greater control of resources in their domain rather than violence.

Because na pity Nigeria just the pity them grin grin grin

See as abuse dey rain.

On a serious note: Until the constitution of Nigeria is amended, the totality of Land and Natural Resources in Nigeria - belongs to the Federal Government.

Ndigbo must unitedly insist on making this happen. Its our right, its our turn, we have waited for ages and have supported everyone else for too long. It must be grin

@High Chief

Dede you are entitled to your opinions, all I am saying is it is time to stop playing victim and change the perception of we deserve to lead because we are Igbos. The same people you mentioned in Nafdac or CBN will not win elections in Anambra and that is the problem. Since 1999, every election year all we hear is Ndigbo will strategies for next election, , why not now?

Aba is not the best place to live so is Onitsha and Owerri and I have lived in (not visited) this parts of the country so I know (they are not the worst however). These are places with great potentials in both human and natural resources ore than most places and what have the governors done? As a people, Igbos can do better than this.

Anyone can aspire to be president but we need leaders for this country. Whether Igbo or Gwari, I don't care.
We are not playing victims. If we did that's in the past now. Come 2015, Nigerians should have it well registered in their mind that if thing are to be, the smartest thing to dream is an Igbo Presidency.
Politics › Re: Come 2015: Its Ndigbo Or Nothing by egift(op): 2:17am On Nov 03, 2010
kcjazz:
The reason is this. The North has produced more presidents (more inept rulers) yet their region is the poorest in the country, highest illiteracy and mortality rates. So basically no connection between been president and making their regions better even with Abuja, it is still zero. This is why we need leadership.

So, let the Igbos set a high standard for ourselves it is a good thing. We want a leader with a track record starting from Douglas rd Owerri to Aso Rock. A leader Nigerians will be proud of. We don't want people to make us lead them because it is our turn, we want to earn it and the only way is if we stop playing victim and make things work in our states Aba, Onitsha, Enugu, Owerri and Abakiliki.
As good as that sounds, I don't agree with that. Its not the Igbos that will have to prove it will be the best before getting elected - Rather it is those that have done badly in the past that have to prove they will do better - in order to be given another chance.

i admire you. its not just the igbos that are in this struggle, the yorubas and the sw are also in this.
obj was forced  on the sw. he did not even win his ward or local government. all i want now is a credible leader not a regional leader. i hope it comes from the igbos so i can support
Thanks for your kind words. I am very optimistic that there are many Igbo who when the opportunity is presented will make a big difference.

Am not suprised you supported such shallowness. But why is it that when it comes to Ndigbo, we are required to attain certain requirements before we are to be considered. Yet you claim we are brothers.

Bros, my advice to you is to inform the Igbo leaders to step their game up. Fix the Igbo states and we can be ready for presidency. Its not an issue of it is our turn, rather let us be united in one purpose to make the SE of Nigeria the best part of the country to live and that can be achieved without been president.

However, in the interest of my kids, I am interested in a leader, tribe doesn't make one, let us end the religious and tribal politics, the gains are worthless.
I like that but if I may ask you in all sincerity - did other ethnic groups in Nigeria had to "fix their States" before getting the opportunity for the Presidency.

When it come to Ndigbo, it seems we are required to attain certain requirements before we are to be considered. Why huh huh

No! Why not now?
In my opinion, we don't have much time since much was not planned on time to achieve that result. We are better off allowing GEJ and IBB to slog it out while Ndigbo make strategic plans to make it happen in 2015. And it will never come free - that's why come 2015 - Its either Ndigbo or Nothing.

egift. Lets direct your comment more to ourselves and noone else. We can however, give that warning to other if, and only if we are screwed when all was done and won fair and square by us.
@ Chyz1:
I agree with you on that. But the problem is that the rest of the country still see it as a taboo to have an Igbo man in the helms of affairs.

Imagine: even President Jonathan can't support an Igbo Presidency in 2015! Yet to get the support of Ndigbo he is floating names he have not identified with in decades!

They either support Ndigbo or Nothing and yes Igbos should sound that very loud.

its not about me. i am just one man with one vote. i want to campaign for an igbo president 2015. but the way it is set-up. its going to be difficult without an up roar in nigeria. believe me on this.

i think it G would support a middle belter 2015. sad. he has no choice, if he has the country at heart
Are you implying that Middle belt deserve it more than Ndigbo? And not giving it to them is not having "the country at heart"? That's one of the most ugly thing that will be considered reasonable.

if igbo man become president, what difference does that make
who cares whether he is igbo or hausa or yoruba
we need a leader that is not based on ethnicity or religion
but a leader that sees everyone as equals
lets leave this notion of yoruba must be president now, igbo must be president tomorrow
i mean what difference does that make
does it mean your standard of living would be better if igbo become president or what
i beg and plead with my igbo brothers that they should forget this wazobia politics and move forward, be progressive and be the best country in the world not only africa.
ezeuche and co pls, lets not be trablistic about the future of nigeria
the future generation of nigeria would need ppl like us to make the right decision

trust me no northerner likes ibb and co
we just want progress like the yorubas and the igbos
- It will amount to equity.
- Nigeria will be transformed for good (igboman and being a genius goes hand in hand.)
- Supporting Ndigbo means you see us as fellow citizens too.
And many more all for good.

thats incorrect, we are operating undera democratic system

secondly, the president cannot support you. the country will not allow it. most of the populace would think he is trying to concentrate power in the ss and se. and that might lead to 1967 all over again.

what igbo need is to be smart about it. not chest-beating but patience, and when the opportunity come you grab it tight. now is not the opportunity, its too dangerous for the country. even GJ know it
You are .hell wrong on the above.

- Our democratic setting is such that no Ethnic group in the country can win an election with the the other.
- What do you mean that "the country will not allow it"? - But everyone else come begging us - But wouldn't allow us.
- You want us to be patient - Why can't the rest of you have patience?

When it concerns 2015, Igbos deserve to be supported/back by every Nigerian to produce Mr. President. Igbos have a lot of capable hands - when the time we will make that decision.

Anyone that is not supporting Igbo Presidency is simply an Enemy of Ndigbo.
Politics › Re: Come 2015: Its Ndigbo Or Nothing by egift(op): 12:31am On Nov 03, 2010
I always tell people this, most persons will never live to see an Igbo man become President. But when they seek their selfish ambitions they will start pulling out their baptismal IGBO names. And tell us how their great-grand grand-fathers had something to do with us. But we seek ours they will not even think twice before sinking our boat.

Its unfortunate that many will spin just about anything to take away opportunity from Ndigbo - but come 2015 - Igbos should not allow an opportunity to slip away. Anybody that works against this (be him an Igboman or not) is simply an enemy of Ndigbo.

@ Poster your survey question is not about the article you posted. I think you did not read it in full. The article is about Ndigbo uniting today for a greater tomorrow (to have a solid voice in the affairs of Nigeria). It had little to say about promoting his 2011 presidential bid.

Edit it if you want us to agree or disagree with the article. Currently, its more of "Do you like Kalu for 2011 or not".
Politics › Re: Another Wake-up Call For Ndigbo By Orji Kalu by egift(m): 6:35pm On Oct 30, 2010
In the context on Kalu's speech, am 100% in. I once asked these questions:

- If Ndigbo supports President Jonathan for 2011, what is the guarantee that Ndigbo will have 2015?
- If Jonathan have 2011 and 2015 (does it means he is serving Igbo's slot) - they float "he is one of us"?
- On what bases do Ndigbo base the idea that we will have 2015 without fighting for it?

They can establish CTU - Counter Terorist Unit - and make me the head. I will Jack Bauer many of you guys grin

But seriously (from a technological perspective) we can secure Nigeria, by:
- Establishing multi-level, secured database that will be managed by a designated security organ that will feed access and info to all security establishment in the country.
- Train and equip security agencies (especially on how to interract with other members of the society).
- Pay well and in time.

But when it comes to Nigeria, nothing works - even if you like throw 10 oil blocks at it.
