Romance / Re: Define A Modern Day Chic In A Sentence by egu(m): 12:47am On Sep 07, 2010
The woman is created to ennoble the environment. She is supposed to be the light at the end of the tunnel. God has a greater purpose for giving her the charm she possesses. But what have they done with it? It is like giving gold to the swine. They have become POLLUTANTS. And also the in-built shame has been bastardized. No woman knows what shame is anymore. It is scary.
Politics / Re: Lawmakers Design Scheme To Hide Jumbo Pay ! by egu(m): 12:38am On Sep 07, 2010
I wonder what they tell their children when they(children) steal or become anti-social. Anyway, all days na for thief man but one day for the owner of the house.

Politics / Re: Efcc To Bar Corrupt Politicians From Contesting ! by egu(m): 5:36pm On Aug 27, 2010
Same story last year. Will it work this time? Let us wait and see.
Politics / Re: Naturalised American Challenges Extradition From Nigeria ! by egu(m): 5:33pm On Aug 27, 2010
He is now a Nigerian and his fundamental human right must be protected. It will be wrong for our police or the Nigeria govt.to honour this extradition without due process. Doing so will impinge negatively on our sovereignty and national respect.
Politics / Re: Do You Always Tell Foreign Nationals Positive Things About Nigeria? by egu(m): 5:23pm On Aug 27, 2010
Yes. last week, the impression my boss had of nigerian girls was unfair. And true to his imaginings, they fall over themselves and sometimes beg us to connect them. So,I told him that nigerian women are a very decent lot. When he tried to argue the point,I told him point blank that the girls he meets at the clubs in ph are for the highest bidder, and that there is no way a true brought up nigerian woman will behave the way they do. He got the point. The problems we have in nigeria are human and are found in every country. Nigeria is even better off than most of other countries.
Politics / Re: Countdown To Independence Celebration Begins ! by egu(m): 3:55pm On Aug 24, 2010
"Pity the nation that is full of beliefs and empty of religion.

Pity the nation that wears a cloth it does not weave, eats a bread it does not harvest, and drinks a wine that flows not from its own wine-press.

Pity the nation that acclaims the bully as hero, and that deems the glittering conqueror bountiful.

Pity the nation that despises a passion in its dream, yet submits in its awakening.

Pity the nation that raises not its voice save when it walks in a funeral, boasts not except among its ruins, and will rebel not save when its neck is laid between the sword and the block.

Pity the nation whose statesman is a fox, whose philosopher is a juggler, and whose art is the art of patching and mimicking.

Pity the nation that welcomes its new ruler with trumpeting, and farewell him with hooting, only to welcome another with trumpeting again.

Pity the nation whose sages are dumb with years and whose strong men are yet in the cradle.

Pity the nation divided into fragments, each fragment deeming itself a nation".

Culled from; Khalil Gibran, "The Garden Of The Prophets", London, Heineman,1934.

NOTE; This quotation describes Nigeria`s reality which our politicians and policy makers must wake up to,now that we are clocking 50 years of Independence.
Politics / Re: 2011: Ibb Educates Fct Minister by egu(m): 3:29pm On Aug 24, 2010
IBB has every right to contest. Will he win? That is the question. He has been making a lot of good noise. That is vintage IBB. Nigerians know him. For me. its minus one. I can not vote for him even if he promise to give me the moon. Cos he will surely renege.
Politics / Re: Us Grants Nigeria Direct Flight Permit ! by egu(m): 3:12pm On Aug 24, 2010
Kudos to Nigerians. This is called progress. It is not about flight to Heaven but a step in the right direction, otherwise called growth and development. A summation of similar things like this leads to those things found in developed countries which we always yearn for.
Politics / Re: State By State Progress Chart. by egu(m): 4:36pm On Aug 14, 2010
Pls,do not judge a state or government through media reports. Performances goes beyond press reports. There are several social and economic indicators used in assessing a state or govt. Anyway, keep up the idea. Its great.
Politics / Re: Nigeria To Buy More Presidential Jets by egu(m): 4:28pm On Aug 14, 2010
I believe it will be right to give this young man the benefit of doubt rather than allow the spent forces masquerading themselves as our future presidents. On the issue that we deserve the leadership we have, you are very right. We dont sustain a struggle that we sincerely believe in. We have given them too many chances. But jaw jaw we must,at least,it help sometimes.
Politics / Re: Why Bankole Disembarked from BA Flight by egu(m): 4:13pm On Aug 14, 2010
What Bankole would have done was to allow himself to be searched, then, make a case out of it. Or was he hiding something?
Politics / Re: Nigeria To Buy More Presidential Jets by egu(m): 4:10pm On Aug 14, 2010
The president has been given a wrong advise. Spending such huge sum of money at this trying period is a minus on his credibility. I did not expect him to fall into a trap like this. But he still remains my man.
Politics / Re: State By State Progress Chart. by egu(m): 3:48pm On Aug 14, 2010
You were right in some states . What criteria did you use to arrive at the statistics?
Family / Re: Would You Marry Someone Out Of Sympathy? by egu(m): 3:34pm On Aug 14, 2010
When you have a woman who is very confrontational and competitive both in and outside your home but despite this, you love her dearly despite your frequent unhappiness over her inability to understand that she is rather killing you slowly through her negative acts. When you put corrective measures in place, she runs and cry foul. Then, you meet another one that is dutiful, caring, thinks of you more than you think of her, wise in dealing with you.In short, you met a wife material yet your love still resides with the firebrand that took off cos you frown at her. But despite the undying love for the former, you made up your mind to marry the later,is that what is called marrying out of sympathy? What is the solution or option then; marry the former and die early ,or marry the later and live longer? Which one is the best?
Politics / Re: Bankole Ignores Uproar Over Obasanjo’s Allegations ! by egu(m): 2:54pm On Aug 14, 2010
OBJ`s allegations against the National Assembly is true. The fact is,they have denied being corrupt. The speaker of the House of Representative had used every opportunity to deny the allegation, but due to their lifestyles,Nigerians believed they are as guilty as charged.
If I were Bankole, the best thing to do is to stop verbally convincing Nigerians to believe me but to pass the Freedom of Information (FOI) Bill. This will go a long way in vindicating him if he feels his hands have not been soiled. But will The Speaker take up this challenged?
