The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) on Thursday said it can disclose how many barrels of crude oil Nigeria sells in real time. According to the NNPC’s Group General Manager (GGM) in charge of Crude Oil Marketing, Mele Kyari, the corporation said it had achieved 98 percent automation of all transactions involving the supply, marketing and sale of the various grades and blends of Nigeria’s crude oil across the world. Kyari disclosed this in an interview with Oil & Gas Forum, NNPC’s weekly television programme, which airs on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). “Today, at a click of a button we can tell you how much crude oil is sold, at what price, who bought it and where it has gone to etc,” he said. He said that the Corporation’s plan was to operate a complete paperless crude oil data management regime in line with the ongoing transformation of the processes which has witnessed sweeping reforms since 2015. On the recent Policy Dialogue on crude oil sales and reserve Management in Nigeria organized by the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development, Kyari said the forum provided the corporation an avenue to clarify some misinformation on the operations of crude oil marketing. He said “NNPC would continue to engage members of the public and other critical stakeholders to keep them abreast of innovations in the supply, marketing and sale of the various grades and blends of Nigeria’s crude oil across the world.” http://dailypost.ng/2017/12/21/can-reveal-many-barrels-crude-oil-nigeria-sells-real-time-nnpc/

mikolo80:He is all too powerful, for now. He was nearly removed but he rigged his way up and even when a fresh election was conducted, many had already lost hope in the APC. |
Nice. I'd love to read pidgin blogs more often. He may have shortened his life for this vanity. Hope he has now achieved his aim in life. Nonsense. |
quinnboy:Gold is Gold. Once you say Nigerian gold severally, trust me, you'd get used to it. |
mikolo80:Listen (read), the only good thing about Mark is his "impositioning" of candidates and godfatherism has helped idoma people get a piece of the National cake. Check, most federal appointments favour the idomas than the tivs but the tivs are better off locally than idomas. e. g Former Minister of interior (and David Mark's puppet) Abah Moro. |
What are they campaigning for exactly? |
mikolo80:David Mark is in a position that can only be held by an Idoma man, so what are you saying? |
SalamRushdie:Malarials? ( speaking of IQs) You can't expect to reap all the rewards at once. how about rice for example? It is getting cheaper; farmers are getting richer. Someone has to take the bold step; No pain No gain. Buhari took it, along with all the heavy criticism. Now it has paid off but you all are still bickering. |
rusher14:True. I like the fact that good news has been trickling in recently amid the Innoson and Hijab saga. Besides, we need to develop our non oil sector and mining has to be on the fore. UAE have used their Oil and Mineral rich resources to develop, I believe we can do it. |
SalamRushdie:Sir, You are really wrong and blind if you think raising tariffs to discourage importation was a bad policy. Infact, it has been the best policy so far. How do you hope to keep importing items you can produce locally? How do you make local producers compete favourably with their counterparts abroad with lower tariffs? You and your likes complain about Nigeria being backward. Not producing this, not being advance. How do you advance when you import basically everything ? |
But I still agree that it is the highest ever. Due to the fact that some time in the 20th century 1 trillion naira would have been 1 trillion dollars. So if we keep converting and comparing based on the rate to a dollar then we could be in for a lot because there are several factors you'd need to consider. Yyeske:My point exactly. |
…Kebbi , Osun States are pilot states- Minister The Federal Government has announced plans to commence a Gold Purchase Scheme early next year, aimed at increasing revenue accruable from the country’s abundant gold deposit. Gold The scheme, according to the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi, would include equipping of the artisanal miners, provision of extension services and off-take of all gold produced by participants in the scheme. Dr Fayemi, who spoke during the Ministry’s 2017 End of Year Ministerial Briefing in Abuja on Thursday, said the scheme is being carried out in partnership with state governments and the private sector. He said Kebbi and Osun States have been chosen as pilot states for the scheme, adding that the scheme would facilitate employment, reduce poverty and increase revenue to the Federation account. The Minister who lamented that the vast majority of the country’s gold are transacted underground without any record of financial accrual to the government, said the gold purchase scheme would attract international buyers of gold. This development, according to him would defeat the prevailing underground gold market. Already, the ministry has set up an investment promotion and Mineral Trade Department, while a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPA) would be licensed by government to manage the gold purchase scheme. The Minister also stated that the Ministry had secured the delivery of 26,000 line kilometre of electromagnetic data, having made the outstanding payment to the consultant that handled it. He said the ministry would also undertake extensive electromagnetic Airborne Geological Survey of promising parts of the country in 2018. “We are also working towards the completion of the equipping of the NGRL, as well as the completion of our National Mineral Database, and will, in collaboration with the China Geological Surveys conduct an extensive geochemical mapping programme across the country. “The foregoing would avail sufficient data for interpretation and analysis of the to allow for strategic planning and targeting of potential areas for further exploration work, and ground verification of the data from the ‘AGS’. “We consider this a very important part of our work in 2018, to deliver a comprehensive bankable data of our mineral endowments across the country”, Fayemi added. Speaking further, Fayemi said: “We have collaborated with the state governments to ensure the reactivation of State Minerals Resources and Environmental Management Committees (MIREMCOs) as provided for by Section 19 of Nigerian Minerals and Mining Act. “Accordingly, we provided mobilization funds for 10 State MIRENCOs, and also procured operational vehicles for the affected states. Our efforts in this regard are in the spirit of cooperative federalism in the sector, in order to deepen the participatory governance of the mining sector. The Minister said with more funding and technical supports for miners in the coming years, the sector would actualise its agenda of job and wealth creation. The Minister also said that the ministry has completed the characterisation of kaolin in Ekiti State. This involved carrying out mineral and chemical analysis to determine the composition of the kaolin as well as the quality. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/12/fg-kick-starts-gold-purchase-scheme/ Lalasticlala.

The Number one bestselling author and former aide to Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Pastor Reno Omokri, has described as a big lie, the statement by the Nigerian Customs which said the service generated ₦1 trillion in 2017 as against N770 billion target earlier set. A statement by the Service’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Joseph Attah, on Thursday in Abuja, announced that the service recorded the highest revenue ever despite the ban on some items. According to the statement, “NCS has recorded the highest revenue collection ever of N1,012,259,006,779.74 with five more working days to the end of 2017. “This spectacular performance in revenue collection shows N241,685,276,289.74 over the N770,573,730,490 target for the year and well above the N898,673,857,431.07 collected in 2016. “(This is) Despite the economic recession experienced earlier in the year, with low volume of imports and restriction placed on 41 items from accessing Forex. “The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), retired Col. Hameed Ali, undertook some strategic measures in terms of restructuring and repositioning the service for efficient service delivery which resulted in this historic revenue figure from the service this year,” Attah said. He said that for the CGC to achieve this feat, took some measures like strategic redeployment of officers, restraining of the operatives of Customs Intelligence Unit were done, among others. However, refuting the Customs claims, Pastor Omokri said when the naira is factored in respect to its devaluation, then, that the claimed generated amount as declared by Customs is not even up to half of what was generated in 2014 under the former President, Jonathan. According to Omokri, “This is a huge lie. When you factor in the devaluation of the Naira, this amount is not even up to half of what was generated in 2014 under Jonathan. @NTANewsNow , stop lying. ₦978 billion in 2014 was equivalent to $6.5 billion. ₦1 trillion in 2017 is equivalent to $2.7 billion!” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/12/customs-n1trn-revenue-generation-claim-big-lie-reno/ Lalasticlala

fineboynl:LMAO. So some individuals' statuses in society have to be considered. So you mean they should get special treatment? Innoson is an industrialist and should be treated differently? |
fineboynl:And I ask again, "Does the Police need to seek arrest warrant for every individual they deem culpable or does the rule apply to only politically exposed persons?" Besides, no one is a criminal until proven guilty. |
merit455:I didn't expect any less from you. |
fineboynl:So the EFCC has to notify the AGF for every arrest they want to make ? Or does the rule only apply to Politically Exposed Persons? |
She has gotten the attention she craves. I wonder what stunt she'd pull on her next birthday after we have forgotten about her tomorrow. |
I wonder why David Mark has not been arrested. He has done little or nothing other than imposing candidates on Idoma people. Most of the political offices are held by his brothers or relatives. I laugh when I hear him condemn impunity. This man has zero to offer. A walk around his constituency and you'd be shocked how a Senate president for years hasn't attracted something to his constituency . |
Nothing as bad as being at the top floors of a high rise building on fire. You might just have to jump to your death. So sad. |
Nothing as bad as being at the top floors of a high rise building on fire. You might just have to jump to your death. So sad. |
I just wonder why on earth we must "tribalize" everything in Nigeria. Innoson was accused of fraud and EFCC arrested him, although the manner in which he was arrested leaves much to be desired, I still see no reason why many are saying it is because of his tribe. I am very sure Innoson himself wouldn't even come out to say this has anything to do with his tribe. |
iamJ:It is hard to believe that you would reason better than the child up there. |
He really should. The Health sector has far too long been short changed in terms of investment. More should be allocated to health in 2019 budget. |
NairalandCS:Can she not be a big fan of Small Doctor like everyone else? Besides, she can date whoever she likes, I don't see how it concerns you. |
Another thread were users get to condemn the Muslims. |
SalamRushdie:You really have to stop this your vendetta against Buhari. This is good news and you are trying to derail it. If the Fg are trying to profit from whatever is on ground try to applaud it. |
SalamRushdie:Must you always be a pessimist. Why can we do both simultaneously? We can still earn from whatever we have now. |
Who else thinks we probably would have been better off with this than what we have now? |
