Many times people have the wrong idea of God. They think he is some Santa Claus in the sky who grants the wish of every "little kid"out there.
Godliness with contentment is great gain. |

Brighton has found goal scoring a serious problem this season.
Liverpool know how to grind out results regardless of their performance — stuff of champions if you ask me. |

Brighton have a very poor record against Liverpool. I don't expect anything less than a win for Klopp's men. |

eviana3: You are welcome. I know it's a lot, but I got a scripture passage the other day that reminded me of why I serve the Lord.....
Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV) The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee
Not because of "fear" of hellfire destruction or because of the joy of an eternal home, BUT because I love the Lord and what He did for me. His love for me to endure this what I am quoting in this thread....enduring all of this for "little old me?" Loving me with an everlasting love, desiring to be reunited with me in perfection? This is where sincere Christians need to dwell on...Christ' love for humanity.... Be blessed Wait, are you sure you are not me? The love and peace of God is unparalleled; I don't know how to explain it. I am just in such a place where I want to walk in His fear and love not from eternal damnation. I'm happy I know someone who can relate, really. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Major LGBT Group Want Biden To Disaccredit Christian Schools And Colleges by Ehiscotch(m): 1:15pm On Nov 21, 2020 |
eviana3: This is why the separation of church and state was so paramount.
I've learned to "never say never" about what a person will or won't do when backed into a corner or pressured by the majority...especially in the highest and most powerful position in the world.
It is very possible that those measures could be taken....implemented....or imposed. Religious liberty would then be under "assault".
So that would leave the Christian colleges and universities with a decision to make of two choices: 1). Change the statement and overthrow their Christian conviction and religious liberty
2). Do not accept the change (due to religious conviction) and thereby lose accreditation...which affects the universities and students.
Sounds like a "3 Hebrew boys" (in Daniel 3) or "Daniel" moment could be possible for Christian universities...very serious. It definitely gives one food for thought. Sooner or later this will happen. As the time draws near persecution deepens and worsens and holding on to the faith becomes difficult. It is getting difficult to be a true Christian in these times. But God is refining the faith of the elect and we have to let these trials have its full effect (easier said than done, though). |

kingxsamz: When a group of people make up a character and attribute certain traits or personalities to it, is it illogical to examine/criticize this supposed character based on the claims made by these same group of people that made it up?
And also, let us know which god you're talking about, as every god worshipper claims that their god is perfect. Would you rather judge the character and life of a man by reading his autobiography or by comments of people who claim to have read it? Again, I'm saying if a perfect God exists, how do you think he would answer prayers. |
Christianity Etc › Re: When God Is Silent In Times When We Need Him The Most by Ehiscotch(m): 7:20pm On Nov 19, 2020 |
kingxsamz: Yes, I base my opinions based on what the worshippers of this god says it is, because the god itself isn't the one doing the talking, neither is it doing the explanations...
Which of the gods then? You prejudice seems to have preceded their statements. Seeing how crucial and relevant the question of his (non) existence is, does it not seem illogical to base the conclusions of the worshippers of this God as absolute with first checking the veracity of their claims with its constituted authority? Secondly, I was asking about any God. Like a perfect God. |
Christianity Etc › Re: When God Is Silent In Times When We Need Him The Most by Ehiscotch(m): 6:52pm On Nov 19, 2020 |
kingxsamz: If a god like the Christian god exists, with all its characteristics and abilities ( as described by the Christians), then one wouldn't need to pray to it, and it'll work in order to fulfill the needs of people, since it knows their heart desires. If you're omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent, there's no need telling you or begging you on what to do. So you base your opinions of the Christian God solely on what they say he is and not what he is? And my question wasn't really about Yahweh. |

I do not have any obligation to provide evidence for your nonsensical claims. The onus is on you. Read this as many times as you need to. I asked you to provide evidence against it. Grow up and stop expecting me to babysit you. Own it. Surely, you can indulge me by providing me sufficient evidence to disprove my "superstitious nonsense". Bacteriologist: The funny thing is; I could be praying to a stone or a dog and the possibile answers would be exactly the same three (Yes, No or Wait). It doesn't still nullify the statement. God created the Earth and he does what he pleases and sees fit. He's the God of all the Earth not just Christians but he's a Father to all who are in Christ. So you did nothing to negate what was written. |

The only way to avoid SARS is to join the protest so we can end them completely. Didn't you see that he included the police? It's not just about SARS but the military and para-milatary units in Nigeria. A taste of power and they become drunken, lawless and reckless. |

I try to comment as sparingly as possible on this protest because I know it would lead to nothing other than Ending SARS and mitigation in police brutality.
The protest is getting mixed up; there is no clear path or direction: many are even there to vent, for clout, idleness, for the fun of it, joblessness and worse still for political reasons.
To others who have been seriously dealt a huge blow by SARS, no words can console you and you have every right to protest and I support you a 100% but let's be patient and see what the outcome will be. SARS have been disbanded, let's see how the government responds.
Trust me, these protests won't last very long.
Nigeria problem is her people, not exclusively her leadership. |

This is getting stale Guy, you dey even try dey reason people matter. Many are there for the thrill or the fun of it. The Nigerian government has even paid more attention to them than Donald Trump did to the BLM. It's not even sensible to be protesting against a group that has been ended. Do you want the government to end the police or all tactical units in the force? Anyways, Nigerians have had enough of police brutality, let them have their fill; they'd settle in a few days. SARS really had it coming. |
