Politics / Re: Another Recession Looms With ‘adverse Consequences’ – Buhari by Ehiscotch(m): 6:06pm On Oct 08, 2020 |
Fleshly: Why the anger? Did you expect Nigeria to survive the impact of both low oil prices and the adverse effects of Covid-19? If we had had self sufficiency in agriculture, people won't be hungry and wailing but we won't get there in a hurry, these things take time. We all have our grievances but let's be guided and desist from making uncouth and petty statements. |

It was expected, sir. With the impact of the Covid-19 worldwide, it would easier for a camel to pass the eye of a needle than for us not to record quarterly decline in our GDP. If only your vision for self-sufficiency has come into play, Nigerians would barely feel any impact of global oil prices or foreign exchange, especially in agriculture. I just hope and pray that your policies bear fruits early: the rails, roads, Siemens deal and Mambilla power project, and ports. Thank God, our populace has been reawakened on the need to vote. Look how all states are being keenly contested and the relatively level playing ground afforded all parties. We will get there. 1 Like |

True. We need to keep diversifying our revenue stream but we should not stop taking the loans from China especially that agreement, CCEC is it? Many ignorant people don't know that loans used to bridge the infrastructural gap is what every nation, especially a third world one like us need. If we take loans and fix all the roads and all the trains and we have to pay for tolls and tickets, we don't mind. |

If not for anything else, I'm glad that Buhari has made elections free and fair. It takes a bit of economic reset to awaken the minds of the masses to engage in electioneering. You can even tell how uncertain the APC camp are about their candidate winning. |

There are only a few countries that have a balanced nation team. See Italy, England, Germany and Netherlands have only a few good players and are largely unbalanced. Thanks to Gernot Rohr we are building a strong and evolving team and even attracting players from abroad. Now some local coaches are fighting tooth and nail for the job by criticizing a budding team. I just wish them all the best as they progress and I hope Rohr can drill them into performing better. |

fanenene: Your question is not fully posed. What do you call needs? They had all they needed for the purpose for which God called them, that's all that matters.. Like you said, God knows what we need; and He is ready to supply us according to his riches in glory. You also should properly define your question, because a need is different from want. 3 Likes |

phyllumtopilla: I tell you. Too many delusional people on Nairaland. The US are always concerned about free and fair election ever since they exported their democratic system across the world. They just created a body to reiterate their stance on every given occasion. I don't know why people are acting like it is new or it will really stop much. |

Trust me, Nigerians are seeing through different eyes. They didn't compare us to Dubai since 1999 - 2015. I think the jaundice has finally fallen off their eyes (sic). It baffled me when they applauded a certain man who it took him four years to realise that China is creating 2 million jobs and doing this and that. I'm sure if someone compared his governorship tenure and achievements in that time to Shanghai, he would have thought of the person as silly and strawman. All this unrealistic ad infinitum comparisons can get us nowhere. |

Nigeria has an abundance of players to choose from we can do without those who pledge their allegiance to European counterpart. Chelsea, Man United, Liverpool and Man City have many Nigerians in their teams and I just pray we keep Gernot Rohr because he knows how to attract those players and is building a young squad. I just wish the NPFL is more improved or at least we had a good youth structure to choose from to add to the quality from Europe. I'm happy with the inclusion of Tijani; I wished he added some more players from his crop: Said, Amoo and a few players impressed me and they looked really young and exciting. By far, the youngest under-17 we've had in a while. Just because we didn't win, many have overlooked that team. 1 Like |

Please, please. Just because we lost 6-1 you don't have to come up with false stats. Paul Pogba scored Aston Villa at the end of last season. Lingard scored in the Europa League, quarter finals. |
Religion / Re: Did God Banned Birthday's? by Ehiscotch(m): 7:23pm On Oct 04, 2020 |
The kinds of silly things we base our minds on is really appalling. Celebrating your birthdays is of no significance as we celebrate each and everyday as a testimony of the mercy of God. But it being the day you were born only makes that particular day more special. We shouldn't even be discussing this as it really as no bearing with being a Christian. I wonder why you teach what you should be a prerogative of an individual as a doctrine and want to see it as a sin because it started with the Egyptians. |
