Sometimes I wonder what the world would be like today if the mortality rate of Covid-19 isn’t as low as it is. The spread is crazy, infection rate is high, we aren’t getting tested enough; we do not have accurate figures. It’s also a novel virus, what’s to say something more sinister won’t be found out tomorrow about this virus?
Lots of people calling for the end of the lockdown don’t really understand the point of the lockdown to start with. I understand there are challenges that comes with the lockdown, but IMO, it’s the lesser of two evils. |

izzou: I dont even know if its safe to go out if the lockdown is lifted.
Left to me, the government should do more for the citizens.Provide more palliatives and increase testing. But removing the lockdown is a disaster waiting to happen.
I locked down 2 weeks before Lagos state’s own. I’m staying put for at least another month afterwards. Occasional runs would me made though. |

izzou: That means, pegging the estimate at 850k for corolla and 650k for the civic, the civic makes 200k more
Also, we can also say that after the initial 12 months, the civic owner can afford another civic.
That's still another way to look at it At the end of the day, to each his own. I see your valid point though. |

Carshopper: Yes it does.. and shows that Corolla will NEVER remain the best for the job...every car can deliver same end game results all things equal (moral of the story I’ve always been against the corolla mentality. It all boils down to use and maintenance IMO. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Eizenburg: 8:01pm On Apr 21, 2020 |
izzou: Good Good
So let's choose 24 months, and let's agree with an ideal situation
Corolla - 1.7m Civic - 1.3m
A corolla makes 700k, while a civic makes 1.1m
So how much will be the resale value on both after two years? There would be diverse opinions on this. Like I said earlier, after 2 years, if both vehicles are still in “top” shape, I think a 50% depreciation estimate should be fine |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Eizenburg: 7:58pm On Apr 21, 2020 |
Carshopper: Using @izzou 'ideal state'
Cost of vehicle 1.3m vs 1.7m
100k monthly
Over 2years 2.4mil
That's
1.1m vs 700k
Resale value After 2years on ehailing a Corolla will sell for say 700k
A civic say 400k
That's
1.5m vs 1.4mil That still boils down to roughly the same percentage ROI |

izzou: Mr Eizenburg, lemme ask you
How many years do you think it's suitable for a Tokunboh car to be on Uber? That’s very subjective. Personally, I’d do my calculations with anything between 18 months and 24 months, with a 50% depreciation in the value of the car. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Eizenburg: 7:46pm On Apr 21, 2020 |
Carshopper: I beg to differ...
Every vehicle will command a resale value worth its depreciation. After resale the Corolla will still lag I believe if you assume “good chemistry” like izzou suggested, and maintenance does not go beyond the basics, at the end of the day, your ROI on both vehicles would be very similar. |

radautoworks: Objectively there not many businesses where this is feasible That IMO, is the fundamental flaw with a lot of Nigerian business owners; wanting to break even in little or no time. In a lot of cases, businesses project multiple years to attain steady profit. That being said, the peculiarities of the e-hailing business (notably the depreciating value of the car) would not make that long term plan feasible. |

Whatever trump does is right in my eye The Chinese virus is being used as a political weapon against mr trump by the democrat, If I am correct, ending of this year will be an election and trump will win again, mr biden the man who doesn't know where he is and doesn't know what he speaks of, will lose.
The most hit hard state by the chinese virus is newyork, a Democratic party control state but they will also find ways to blame trump for their mismanagement People arguing with sexy are just wasting their time. The bolded statement renders everything she’s said moot |

nitigriti: There are so many angles the series didn't explore. For example, the distrust between Tokyo and Raquel. They just jelled like that. How possible?
Then do you notice Tokyo actually loves the Professor? Recall she once tried seducing him. Imagine Tokyo as Professor's side chick and Raquel finding out.
Then the part of using Nairobi's son to bait her was just fake through and through. That wasn't good storytelling at all.
Then the Professor falling for that trick of the Police faking Raquel's death in a shootout. The Professor is supposed to be too intellectual to fall for that. Remember how unemotional he was when Berlin sacrificed himself to keep the Police at bay while they escaped with the loot? His character is supposed to be that detached at Raquel's "death" as well. I mean, he's a professional thief, the death of comrades comes with the territory.
I can go on and on. Spoiler Alert |

Abt rating: for me, the movie is a good one, far from d regular. Promising, but there’s something about it that doesn’t sit well with me; Aaron’s acting seems kinda forced. Flash Forward is one really good show that didn’t get renewed for a second season. |
