grin grin thanks for the heads up!!

I think you should use your platform as a medium to agitate the rights of car owners and drivers.

Trust me! You will get somewhere.

Great job!!

I believe that’s exactly what that video was all about.

Took a tour of Lagos yesterday. From Ipaja to Ikorodu, down to Epe, then to Ogba and back to Ipaja. Traffic was way lighter than I expected.

Somebody said LCC was doing promo and I wasn’t with my Toll card, also wasn’t driving my car. That’s how I paid N1k at Lekki/Ikoyi bridge.

The cashier will only attend to one person at a time
The customer rep will only attend to one person at a time

Whether they rush in oh, or line up, or go in one by one, it will end up the same way

I'm not saying people should not go out, but do I need a security or policeman to force me to save my own life?

The bank should just ensure that there's few metres between the crowd and those two officers outside

If they don't want to observe social distancing by themselves, they should please push and pull each other.

Like Carshopper said, some people will be used as statistics

But drivers also do the greater part of the work.

Face greater risks too.

Yeah, I know partners pull in funds to get cars and all. But in case of fatalities, all d partner lose is d car.

The driver loses his life or maybe permanently disabled.

You have to look at it from both sides of the coin

Thats the reason for the review, if things decline consistently

What's your suggestion on what rental fee should look like this coming weeks?

Someone's on my neck. Abeg cry

And the person just buy the Tokunboh before lockdown start

Epp me abeg cry

Unpopular Opinion
Drivers get the better end of the partnership (financially), so they should sacrifice a bit now. I think rentals should remain the same (for now), if the situation keeps declining, then a review would definitely be in order.

Uber original model was in the direction of POOL ride share system (where as u drive u can share ur ride with min of 2 passengers)

The pool ride system can be done in a way that a rider can add or share with ONE friend and an ADD-ON fee is attracted (how the total cost is paid is left to the rider and his friend)

I believe there’s already an option to split your fare and carpool, most people would just rather split the fare within themselves than use the built in app feature.

Good assumptions but I believe reverse will be th case.

The Lagos state government has said company should run 60% staffing.

This 60% will be very cautious of how they transport to work. Most will prefer having a dedicated ride take then to n fro.

Also there will still be PEAK highs (Morning rush n Evening rush). I would wan to think if the app company would implement the POOl ride share system to increase driver earnings - So two colleagues from same office or location can POOl ride and each pays their amount independent of the other.

Concerning rental fee, most owners will hold off their cars getting to work, cuz they will weigh the benefits over maintenance or other KPI.

Now isnt the time to think Partner reducing rental fee but a time partner and driver working together to benefit each other.

Drivers can latch on to dedicated pick up and drop off at a fixed cost. You can get colleagues working in d same environment (2 per pick up or drop off) and charge a fixed rate of say 2k per Person (as you wish).

The worrisome part is the driving witout ac.. bad odour will be at its HIGHEST

It’s really a tough one, we would just have to wait and see how things unfold.

Took a quick survey of about 15 people that I know regularly use e-hailing as their daily commute. 9 of them says they’ll use their personal cars for now and ride share with colleagues, seeing as they already share the same work space. Out of that 9, 6 says they would go back to e-hailing if they cant handle the stress of driving in Lagos traffic. 2 are hoping on hitching rides with neighbors, and 4 says they’ll continue using e-hailing, as it is the safest option for them.

Bro I understand you perfectly, I'm only trying to justify why people are that much outside. U don dey vex wink

There really isn’t any justification. It would be the same scenario if it were a fatal car crash; you’d see the crowd gathering, half of them are just there for their dose of morbid curiousity, the other half to do “eye witness” report. You’d also find a few individuals really willing to help.

The times we live in now (Covid-19), makes all of that unnecessary. Granted Nigeria is a “lawless” country, but the gathering of those individuals, potentially contracting and spreading, is not on the government. It’s solely on them.

This was Ogba after the NNPC fire incident.

They really observed social distancing and wore the necessary kits to protect themselves.

Even if the government is failing us, I'm happy the people are not ignorant, and are taking care of their lives too.

With Nigerians like these, I'm most confident we will manage the Covid-19 even after the lockdown

Exactly my thought. I doubt if the curfew can work in Lagos anyways. We shall see.

For their mind, the curfew is what makes the suspension of the lockdown “gradual”.

Selected offices... offices will close by 2 or 2.30pm ...

Let's see how it pans out ..then we discuss

True sha, but Island to some parts of mainland during rush hour sometimes 6hours no Dey reach. You can be sure there would be mad traffic everyday. This would give the boys in black opportunity to extort, once it’s 8pm.

Who are Buhari’s advisers?

How do you suspend the lockdown and enforce an 8pm to 6am curfew in Lagos. How would that work. Would offices close by 12 noon? With the crazy traffic in Lagos. The virus no Dey waka before 8pm ni?

Day 28 is upon us already. We would soon know our fate; lockdown extension or lockdown suspended.

I totally get the argument in favour of suspending the lockdown. In truth, it’s not been as effective as it could have been because it wasn’t enforced, na play play lockdown.

My opinion is that if the lockdown had been really enforced, moving on to suspending it and taking alternative preventive measures (compulsory face masks et al) would have been a no brainer.
